Arrow Find A Grave and Cemetery Surveys

Two excellent places for online info on grave sites and interments are www.findagrave.com (more than 31 million grave transcriptions) and www.cemeterysurveys.com (with over 240,00 burial records and grave site photos).

Don't forget www.interment.net as an additional and invaluable genealogical resource.

Re: Find A Grave and Cemetery Surveys

I love walking thru old cemeteries.. some really old ones I explored in Rochester, NY, including the oldest municipally owned cemetery in the US.

What a weird coincidence that you posted about Rochester, New York yesterday Dave! I was going through some old boxes of genealogy stuff yesterday that my aunt sent me before she passed away and I ran across some pictures from the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester! There are pictures of some of the headstones of my Pierpont and French ancestors who are buried there. There is also one of the Pierpont home at the corner of Pierpont Rd. and Allens Hill Rd. and some from the Allens Hill Cemetery and an old school house there called the Richmond School District #6. The pictures were take in the fall of 1990.

I've walked thru Mt. Hope cemetery many times as well as Holy Sepulchre, also in Rochester.
