That sounds very interesting Dave. I recently joined Ancestry.com and have been using that for researching family on my dad's side. I just started on my mom's yesterday because I need to get more information before the D.A.R. meeting later this month. I haven't done much on that line since the last meeting and I need to get it in gear if I'm ever going to be a member. There's so much paperwork involved and they only accept certain things as evidence of lineage and I have four ancestors who were in the Revolutionary War. I may have to just concentrate on one of them for now though.

At one time I had this script installed on a family website but just couldn't devote enough time to it to keep it up.

Doing genealogy certainly does take up a lot of your time!

I get so excited when I find some neat information out that I didn't know about my ancestors. It just makes them seem so much more real then. The other day I found pictures of my gr.gr. grandparents and all of their kids from 1869. Then there was one from a reunion the kids had around the 1930s when they were all old, plus I found out my gr.gr. grandfather had fought in the Civil War on the Confederate side. Another very distant relative had posted the pictures on her family tree on ancestry.com. What's really cool about that site is you can click on someone else's pictures and put them on to your tree.
