Wisconsin Arrow head country.
When I go out for a hunt with my metal detector, I don't just go out for rocks or meteorites,I also look for arrow heads that the Indians used for hunting. So far I have found a few small broken points and a scraper type looking item.If you study Indian culture of our past, you will see that Indians lived in many places in Wisconsin. Just around Marshfield, some people I know told me they found arrow heads and other types of tools of the past,so I did my own investigation and found where a trial indians used went through the area and through that it gave me interesting information of how they lived and traveled.
Another cool place to visit when they are open is Silver Mound.
Silver Mound is a cool places in Jackson County to visit that once had Indians who lived on the hill. They used the type of rock that is only found there in Wisconsin to make arrow heads and other tools. It was said the Indians also found Silver in the hill that is now all gone.It is very beautiful up on the hill and you also get to see some cool ancient art work and a neat cave.I was up there on a tour of the hill and it is awesome.Note: The hill is owned by someone and is off limits to people, except when they have open tours of the property.I have collected some rocks with permission of the owners, but only in an area that is not adjacent to the hill. The owner's of the land are very nice and always helpful with information on the hills history. It's a nice place to learn some cool Indians culture and history of Indian life.Arrow heads can be found in many places and I have seen them near rivers and lakes. If you do go hunting for arrow heads be safe and don't go near fast running rivers and cliffs or hills.Farm fields are good places where Indians once lived too, but as usual, always ask permission when hunting any private property.
One other item I have to mention...It is illegal to hunt in an Indian grave area, so don't do it because you would be disturbing Indian graves and it's the State law not to!Please repect though's who have past on to the great heavens.
