Local missing persons organization prepares for nationwide tour
June 5, 2006 10:44 AM EDT
WILMINGTON -- CUE Center for Missing Persons volunteers are preparing for their annual nationwide tour. Spanning 16 states in just eight days, the organization will work on over 75 cases. Most of those cases concern missing persons that have been missing for years.
CUE Center for Missing Persons Founder Monica Caison said, "We visit all the towns of these missing people to get them new coverage, to get them new interest in the case, we talk to law enforcement ... and really to remind the public that that person is still missing."
At every stop on the tour Caison and her team will meet with other volunteers for rallies, typically including family, friends and law enforcement agencies that will continue searching for a loved one.
"They can do whatever they want at the rallies, so they can be as big or small as they want. Some will look like a parade when we come through. Others will have a lot of law enforcement cover press-wise," said Caison.
At every one of the 30 stops the CUE center will make on their tour next week they'll be posting up posters and handing out everything from flyers to T-shirts, all in an effort to intensify and in some cases revitalize searches.
Caison says the tour's purpose is to generate energy to search for a missing person and gives families hope.
She said, "the worst feeling a family can feel is that they're forgotten."
The CUE Center's nationwide tour kicks off June 9. For more information, you can visit
