Wired magazine wrote about a national database that includes traffic, law enforcement, and social security information, addresses, professional licenses, names of neighbors and relatives, and even domain-name registration filings and hunting licenses.
Very few states want any part of it. Unfortunately, and contrary to Wisconsin's great / older political heritage, Wisconsin is one state that has signed on.
Yea, that sounds good, a bigger more intursive government. Been working so far hasn't it? I can about imagine the civil servant poking around people's information. Make you feel warm and cozy don't it?
