My Favorite Grilled Cheese sandwich is:
Ham with cheddar cheese on Italian bread. I first grill lightly the inside of bread first then put my toppings then using REAL butter both sides of bread once done I add pickles and ketchup.
using cream cheese to any grilled cheese fills me up way to fast.
Plus why do they call it grilled cheese?
your pan frying it or baking it in the oven or roasting it over your camp fire
I use my counter-top char-broiler grill to make grilled cheese. First, I char-broil some onions, then butter the outsides of some pumpernickel rye. The insides get the onions, some gouda and Colby cheese.
Very nice with a bowl of chili, or your favorite soupe du jour.

and it sure puts a damper on my toast two slices of bread and microwave melt a piece of kraft cheese on one side, slap them together and cut diagonally method.

I use Velveeta or American with bbq sauce. I think I need to try something different with all these cheeses to choose from blue cheese and bacon, maybe? Bbq sauce on a grilled cheese is the bomb. Add bacon and even better.
I am a bit lazy and make toasted cheese sndwiches , my wife says yuck.
all I do is toast two slices of bread and then take a single slice of cheese and melt it on one of the pieces of toast (in the mico ofcourse) and I slap the toast toegether and eat it. no butter no margrine jusr bread and a cheese slice. it's the KISS method
