Wisconsin Cheeseman Shutting Down

The Wisconsin Cheeseman, a mail order gift food company in Sun Prairie, has informed state of Wisconsin officials that it intends to close its operations no later than March 31.

I thought they said they were closing a few years ago, but they still stayed around. I guess this time it's for good unless they can find some other way to make things work.

Each year at the Malls we shop at Wisconsin Cheeseman would set up displays during the Christmas season and sell gift boxes and hand out samples. I have not noticed this for several years now. Guess they must have quit that, at least in the smaller Malls.

I remember years ago my first husband and I use to buy from either Wisconsin Cheeseman, or Swiss Colony and have them send the gifts to relatives that lived in other states for Christmas and we could pay it all off in a 3 month plan. Worked great that way.

My husband and his friends used to work seasonal at Cheeseman years ago. They sure had some funny stories about that place and all the goofing off they did. It's not like it was their full time job, so they didn't care.

They would play baseball with the round gouda cheeses. Other times they would hide somewhere in back and eat cheese until they almost got sick.
