One street in Kenosha is actually called 'Christmas Lane'. Each year all the houses have great displays they put up. Hundreds drive down the road each year to view all the lights, listen to music. One house has a barrel for food donations in front with a Santa that comes out to your car at times to collect your canned item.
Through out the years other streets around have started to get into the spirit of it all so there is even more to see when riding around. Several streets over one man sets up an entire train set that takes up his whole front yard. So much fun to watch his trains running.

I hear this may be the last year for our local Christmas lights drive thru. It's setup every year by the local Catholic seminary. The older priests can't do it anymore and the younger ones don't want to (or so I hear)..
I kind of wanted to go to see the Rotary Christmas lights in LaCrosse tonight but my hubby didn't feel like going and I don't like driving that far when I don't know the roads very well.
Speaking of Christmas lights, I will never forget a few years back when my son's college room mate from Germany, Yan, stayed with us over Thanksgiving break. We were coming home at night from having a family dinner at my brothers when we came through Boscobel. All of a sudden Yan yelled loudly "Jesus Christ!" It startled us and my husband slammed on the breaks because we thought something was wrong! However, it was just that Yan was shocked at how people had decorated their homes and yards with so many lights and stuff and he had never seen such a sight before! LOL He said they put out very few lights if any at Christmas in his area of Germany and he couldn't believe how lit up some of the places were here. I couldn't help but wonder what he would've thought had he actually been here at Christmas when even more people had their Christmas decorations up.
We have a huge drive-thru light display here in town every year.. haven't gone to see it this year because, well, not as "Christmas-y" when there's no snow.. (again, not in Wisconsin but...)

Hoping to drive down tonight after I pick up my daughter from work. We already went through once this year but it's always fun every time no matter how many times we drive through it all.
