Wisconsin: Favorite Local Bakery?

Is there a local bakery you just have to stop at every time you pass by?

Where do you buy your cakes, cookies, breads, pies, and donuts?

What is your favorite item you typically purchase from a bakery?

O&H Bakery in Racine.

They make wonderful Banana Split Torte Cake. It's to die for!

They are actually very well known for their Racine Danish Kringle's. They were vote #1 in Racine. Even President Obama stopped in there this past summer and bought a few things.

If I get anything, it's a grocery store bakery item. We only have one bakery in town here and since it changed owners, I don't care to go to it.

I used to go to Sweetie Pie's in Oconomowoc, but 2 nearly back-to-back road constructions forced a few businesses to go under. They had pies, cakes, cookies and bars. They also had breakfast items and sandwiches. They weren't a donut and bread kind of bakery, which is why I liked it. It was more like stuff you'd make homemade.

We used to have a bakery in my town but they closed down.. most of the time I have to buy from my local supermarket bakery.

I can't count how many bakeries are in our town. The one I have fun going to is the Mexican Bakery but I always make sure I have one of my kids with me that speaks Spanish! I love their tres leche cake.

Oliver's Bakery on Roosevelt Road has lots of great treats. I like their fat free muffins. Oh sooo good.

We do have a Mexican grocery on the Square that has a small bakery section.. some great stuff there but I don't get down that way often.

We can smell Paielli's Bakery from our house if the wind is just right. The bread baking is sooo delicious smelling. They sell the totally best English Muffins. I have never had better.

One thing I used to love, as we lived down the street from a bakery, was the fresh bread and rolls smell wafting out from the bakery first thing in the morning.. nothing beats grabbing the first batch of sticky buns at 5am, yummy!
