What Do You Love Most About Wisconsin?

So, what do you love most about Wisconsin?

The weather, the cheese, the beer? The people?

Seriously, what about Wisconsin makes you wax poetic?

Versatility.

Depending on what you want you can find it in Wisconsin.

Lake Michigan. I love our lake and the area of Wisconsin we live in the most. It is between Milwaukee, and Chicago with Madison close by. So much is within a short distance to do from big lakes, small lakes, tons of shopping, family life. It's here in this area.

Education? Many great colleges. Madison, Milwaukee etc.

Good family Living. Madison area ranks near the top for family living.

Wisconsin as a whole, offers so many places to go for fun, depending on what you want to do. Night life, large cities, shopping, culture, or adventure, remote camping, hiking, rafting, fishing, it's all here within our state.

Beauty of Wisconsin Dells, the upper Wisconsin cliffs, the light houses of Door County, Mississippi River on the West. Small lakes, large lakes. Wild life, prairies, the list goes on in Wisconsin.

Weather? Well, I am not totally fond of the winters here but I do like the changing of the seasons in Wisconsin or at least the beauty of each one. I could definitely live without the harsh cold, the deep snow, and ice. But it's better than immense heat, huge bugs, hurricanes, etc. of some of the southern states.

I stay also because I grew up not far from Wisconsin (just across the state line in Illinois) and this is home to me and family is close by. If I had any other area of which to choose to live I would go West towards South Dakota, Idaho, or Washington state.

LOL Dave, now your stereotyping us as the cheese state. When I think of Wisconsin, cheese isn't one of the things I think of first or even second. Yes, I know we are the dairy state, but I seldom think of milk and cheese. I think Pk hit a lot of good things. I think Wisconsin should be the beer and brat state. Some people might even think of us as the football state since many are so into that (not me!).

Wis. has great outdoors, except maybe in the winter and while we're at it, can I add late fall and early spring to that cold, cold weather? Lots of lakes, woods, fishing, hiking, camping, hunting and boating.

I like Milwaukee for offering what a big city has, but it keeps it's small town feel to it. Lots of friendly people that you can sit and have good convo with and a beer. Great restaurants and festivals. Not real heavy traffic compared to bigger cities like Chicago or LA. There is some, but not too bad for the most part.

Love the Mississippi River area all along our western border. Very scenic driving along the rolling hills and in some areas there are rocky hills and cliffs.

Lots to do as far as entertainment like bands, festivals in summer, plenty of bars and theater if that's your thing.

I could think of more, but running short on time here.

The people are the most down to earth and hospitable than any other part of the USA that I've been in.

And, of course, the Green Bay Packers

I can't imagine moving away from Lake Michigan. Almost early every morning I drive by the lake since my kids school is right near the lake. It's always beautiful with all the many different 'moods' it offers for one to see. I have taken so many pictures of the lake, the ice in the winter, the sea gulls in the summer, the beautiful sun rises, the tall ships when they arrive, the huge waves during a storm, the calm icy blue other days. Walking down the lake front is another treat that Kenosha offers with the flower gardens, the walking paths, the marina. Always something to do down by the lake that I am not sure I could leave and move somewhere else. . .
