Wisconsin: How Are You Celebrating July 4th 2010?

So what are you planning for the 4th of July weekend?

No definite plans so far. We might just spend a quiet day at home or I might have the hubby work on his "honey do" list. My son has to work until 1:00 so if we want to go do anything as a family, we have to wait until he's home. Anyway, I will get to decide since it's my day.

What are your plans Dave? Do you go to the fireworks? We don't go do the fireworks thing anymore but Boscobel has always put on a spectacular show. Last night, there were people setting off huge fireworks in town here, so we watched for awhile out on the deck. In our township, anyone can get a permit to light off fireworks but they have to stop at 10:30. Some of them are as good as the nearby towns set off only they don't go up as high.

They have $4 day at a nearby amusement park plus free concert and fireworks down my way.. if I have the money, may pay the way for the neighbor kids.

July 4th is a Sunday so I'll probably go to church. ... haven't gone for a while and I get that all day good feeling when I do.

Then it's what J10asen said; 'cept I have a Pontiac (built by Toyota), and prefer Pabst or maybe Leinies, and swiss cheese ... but you get the picture.

And sometime during the weekend when I can find some quiet, I'll reread the constitution and maybe even the declaration of independance. D@mn I feel like a dinosaur ....

I most likely won't be doing much of anything.. have to shampoo my rugs and might make some BBQ ribs for dinner. That will be the extent of it.

Watched some great fireworks over the lake in Kenosha tonight and planning on going to a fun picnic tomorrow afternoon.

Left at 4:45am for work....came home at 7:30am to walk MY dogs, leaving again for WORK to walk more dogs until 8pm. BUT! (happy dance!)......at 9pm I will have a front row seat for the fireworks this year as our little beach town had to move them because of the oil spill. Originally scheduled to be shot off from the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier over the Gulf Of Mexico (where I could still see them, but with condos blocking some of the view), now because of the danger, they are going to shoot them off from a barge in the intercoastal not too far from my house! Unobstructed clear view! Cool! So....I will plop my bones on the futon on the porch, preferably with a cold adult beverage in my hand and end my long day of work with a big bang.

Another cool thing.....since I have a sweeping view of the island I will get to see all of the private fireworks that people shoot off, in unison with the town's display and several of my neighbors spend some big bucks as well. If I look West, I can see the fireworks coming from Pensacola Beach too. It's like being surrounded with a big light show. And my dogs don't seem to mind either....BONUS! My only concern is that I will be darn tired......I better make my cocktail a big black russian-just for the caffeine in it!
