Farmer in The Dell(s)?

Just curious.. how many of you farm for a living?

If you're not currently farming, have you done so in the past, or worked on a farm?

How many grew up on a farm?

I spent my early years growing up on a fruit farm (apples and cherries) in western NY tho our main income was from our kennel and businesses and real estate in the city.

We had 19 acres of trees.. used to love picking and eating the ripe cherries!

I grew up on a farm but we never actually farmed it. We just rented the farm house from the farmer. My parents always had huge gardens that we had to weed so it was almost like having a field full of vegetables every year! We also raised chickens so we always had eggs. We moved in to town when I was in middle school but soon moved back out to the country.

Nothing beats growing up in the country and farm living! The aroma of fresh mown hay in spring, the smell of silage in the fall, going barefoot all summer long, laying in the grass and gazing up at the stars on a clear night....I could go on and on. Those were the best years of my life!

I love the smell of silage.. can't say I adored living anywhere near a cabbage farm tho! STINKY!
