I've never been to an Oktoberfest, believe it or not, although I've drank my share of German beers. I'm a weiss with lemon slice kind of girl.
Jefferson just celebrated their Gemuetlichkeit Days this past weekend. That's their version of Oktoberfest. I've never been to that either even though Jefferson is a short drive from my house.
Milwaukee: Schwabenhof had theirs in Late Aug. and early Sept.
Bavarian Inn on Old World Third Street has until end of Sept. yet
Old World Third Street has a celebration this coming weekend as part of that.
The Old German Beer Hall, Usinger's and Mader's are part of that, also.
I never been to a Oktoberfest celebration either. Back when my kids were a bit younger they use to go to a celebration near our home, there were games, food, rides & such.
I love st pauli girl (German beer), it has no after taste much like Corona... The after taste is what i hate most about beer, besides the smell and actual taste being gross.
I'm mostly German (and quite a bit Irish), live in Milwaukee, and have never been to an Oktoberfest. Plus, I hate beer. And I don't have a temper. Guess I'm not a stereotype - now can someone help me with my lederhosen?
Love Corona for the same reason tho I'm not much of a (beer) drinker. Have to check out St. Pauli now.

I cheated, I have a Wisconsin event booklet on my desk. The website on the back of the booklet is travelwisconsin.com to order guides. I picked mine up at a state park office.
As for beer, I never had St. Pauli. I've drank Spaten, Franziskaner, Pschorr Brau Weiss, and Haacker Pschorr.
I'm mostly German, also, but I don't know much about German food and I hate sauerkraut. I don't know what else I am, but one of these days when I get around to doing a family tree I will see what all my ancestors are. European Heinz 57 varieties, I think is what I am.
I can vouch for the Oktoberfest at the Bavarian Inn. Its is in a large beer hall with an outdoor patio attached. They get two or three thousand revellers on Saturday nights. Its all fun and well worth the 5 bucks to get in. They also sell German souvenirs like dolls, steins, CDs, hats and such.
yes, I'm new to the forums. But no, I"m not a paid shill for the Bavarian Inn. I've been going to their Oktoberfest for almost 10 years.
