I did a tour of the Milwaukee facility before they bought the Briggs and Stratton plant. If my memory serves me well all they did at that time was machine and asseble motors in Milwaukee, or maybe that's all I got to see.
I can recall it looked like any other machine shop to me, similar to Guidings and Lewis or Manitowoc company etc. Nothing special metal shavings and cutting oil everwhere.
