The picture is a bit small, but look at how the car is up on top of the motorcycle. The cyclist was hit from behind by the car and thrown into the back of a pickup truck in front of him. This is probably what saved him. Talk about someone's guardian angel looking out for him. He just walked away a bit sore, but no serious injuries.

Just amazing. He certainly had someone watching over him. I hope he walks away and never gets back on a bike again. No one can be that lucky more than once.
I witnessed a motorcycle accident once when I was at work looking out a window overlooking a four-lane highway. A car swerved in front of a motorcyclist, causing the cycle to rearend the car.. the cyclist got thrown a good 50 feet and ended up under a parked car in a lot near the highway. Dunno if he managed to survive or not.. happened like 15 years or more ago.

One of my friends hit a deer with his cycle couple of years ago. He ended up sliding across the road and the motorcyle flew back and landed on his leg. He broke his leg pretty good and he was lucky because he wasn't wearing a helmet. That was the end of that. He said as long as his mom is alive he's not ever getting on a motorcycle again.
I lost a close friend and a family member, and another friend was injured from motorcycle accidents. Taught me to dislike bikes with a passion now, even tho I use to ride long time ago.
A good friend of many years was riding when a car hit him and his head hit the pavement and he died. A close cousin was going down a road on vacation in Hawaii and hit a pothole and died. Another friend was side swiped by a car and lost his leg in a corn field.
After years of loss and realizing my family means to much to me I won't go near a bike. Car accidents happen every day and most walk away since there is airbags, and metal around you. What protects you when you are on a bike?
Not worth it and that comes from one that loved to ride once upon a time. All it took was common sense, the strong love of a family worth living for, and close people that left out of my life to early.

Once I witnessed a motorcycle and 2 vehicles in an accident and even watching it all unfold in front of me shook me up pretty good. This van pulled out of the gas station to go left and he ended up hitting this car in front of him. He hit the car on the rear side and it pushed the car into the oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. A motorcycle happened to be the oncoming traffic and it T-boned the car. The car stopped in the grassy area and the motorcyclist landed on the grass also. I will never forget the moaning sound he made laying there. He had on his leather and a helmet. I don't know what his injuries were, but he hit that car hard. It's a 45 mph speed limit there. There wasn't a spot left on that car that wasn't damaged. If the driver would have had a passenger, they would have gotten crunched. Not killed, but injured bad.
Since I was the best witness, I stayed behind to talk to the cops. I had to wait a while for them to take care of the serious things. As I was standing there a number of other cars had stopped along the road. Even though I saw everything, suddenly I got confused about who hit who. It was like my mind went blank. I kept thinking I need to remember this before the cop comes over to talk to me. It took a little bit, but it came back to me. How does a person see everything and then forget it 5 minutes later?
Ever since then I don't like driving behind motorcycles. Too many flashbacks to that day. The day of the accident it was a shaky drive home so I can only imagine what it's like to be the one in the accident.
I've been on a motorcycle twice in my life and I won't go on one again. I've seen too many accidents and there isn't anything to protect you. Those "crotch rockets" look even more dangerous in an accident.
