I love to dine out on the town.. chinese, mexican, you name it and I'll eat it and I'm always looking for new and interesting restaurants, cafes, and diners to experience.
When you go out to eat, where do you go most often?
Milwaukee area: Filippo's Italian Restaurant - 69th and Lincoln
Best. Pizza. Ever. Also has good pasta and I love the Chicken Parm.
Door County - Sister Bay: Sister Bay Bowl
Mmmmmm. Excellent food. The BBQ Ribs are excellent and the deep fried Perch is the best fish fry I've ever had. Pair either meal with the broasted potatoes... yummy.

You mean I have to choose just one? That's going to be hard.
Fave Italian: Gino's in Madison -try the lasagna or pasta with bolognese sauce.
Fave Mexican: Senor Tomas in Hartland - try the enchiladas with mole sauce or shrimp dish with jalepeno cream sauce. They also own Taco Amigo in Pewaukee.
Most fun theme restaurant: Ella's Deli in Madison - all kinds of mechanical characters on the walls and ceilings to entertain you.
Best place to eat outside: Rock Bottom Brewery in Milw. -try the Titan toothpicks (chicken filled tortillas) or the pretzels with pepperjack cheese sauce for starters.
One of favorite places to eat: Oconomowoc Depot in guess where? - they have a big variety on their menu. All those cakes and desserts in the glass case are really good, so save some room. They also own another restaurant on Capital Dr., but the name isn't coming to me.
Good Pizza: Pizza Man in Milw. -You'll love sitting in the booths made from old weathered wood. I love this whole neighborhood with the bars and restaurants. Don't forget to stop at Paddy's Irish Pub to have a drink in their relaxing beer garden in summer.
Another I'd like to add as a great hidden gem and out the way place. Glenda's Cafe in Okauchee. The couple that owns it used to own The Dinner Bell in Milw. I never ate at their old place, so I don't know what that was like. I like all the different breads and muffins you get before your meal. The soups and dinners are always good. There's always different specials everyday, even homemade desserts. You never know what owners Glen and Brenda will be serving. Very nice people, too.
I get a kick out of some of the signs in the bathroom and on the walls of the restaurants.

Really fun place to go. You have to order the big a** nachos at least one time. A real experience. lol They come on a small tin garbage can lid and loaded with 'stuff' I kid you not we had 4 of us and did not finish it.

We found this one time when looking for a good fish fry. The fish is great but also like several other items on the menu. I really like the place itself as it is located in a very old stone/brick building from the 1800's. History goes it was once used with the connection with the underground railroad and it has several local ghosts in the place. lol Not sure about all of that but I am sure it's a nice place to go.

I'd have to find someone to go with if I ordered that. Maybe my parents would go with us.
There's a restaurant I like in Eagle that serves big a** burritos and big a** quesadillas. I enjoy the drive there through the winding hills by Kettle Morraine area. They also have sandwiches, pizza, soup and appetizers. It's called the Coyote Canyon Grille. Eagle is quite small, so it's easy to find Coyote's on Main St.
Yummy, yummy nachos from the Wicked Hop. Located across from the Milwaukee Public Market on Broadway and St. Paul Ave.
We get the half order of the nachos, even that is a bit too much for us two. We like the buffalo chili nachos.
They have been voted as having the best Bloody Mary. They come loaded with all kinds of goodies and come in a glass boot mug. I don't drink these, so I don't know how they taste compared to others. They look good. I'd just be eating all the garnishes haha.
I really liked Thai Italiana that we ate at in Waterford. If you wondered about the name, you guessed right. They serve both Thai and Italian food. The prices are cheap and food is good. I thought the dishes looked nicely presented. I had a Thai dinner and my husband had a steak topped with some kind of cream sauce and green beans. I tried his and I already know I'm getting that one next time. Yummy!
I like the idea of the half Thai menu and half Italian. That way if you have some diners in your group that don't want Thai, they can choose Italian.
A couple reviews were saying they had the best fried rice.
I need to post the link for Ella's Deli. That place is so fun and if anyone came to visit me from another state, this is where I'd take them. It's a Kosher deli, but there's quite a few sandwiches to choose from. I like the matzo ball soup. There's a few dinners on their menu, but mostly sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, salad, loaded potatoes and soups. Of course there's the ice cream and all those sundaes.
The animated characters around the deli include jugglers, flying spacemen and even Beatles animated figures. There's critters popping out the ceiling to take a peek and others are moving across the room on wires. Tables have glass tops with scenes inside, some with movable parts. I want to sit at the table with the magnetic particles inside to play sometime. We never get seated at that one. Outside it an antique carousel that operates in the summer months.
We stopped in for lunch while spending the day in Madison at the Zoo and the Capital Building. Had a great time. I only could find pics of the outside but the carousel was fun.
Really like their Prime Rib on Saturday nights. Otherwise their Italian Food and/or Pizza is also very good. The decor is always very pretty as they always have a nice theme for the each holiday.
Our favorite pizza place is the Upper Crust Restaurant in Pell Lake just down the road from Lake Geneva. They have the BEST pizza anywhere! They have all kinds of neat memorabilia and collectibles on the walls and hanging from the ceiling to look at. I think I posted about it once before on here.
For the best steak, we go to Arthur's in Spring Green (Sauk Co.). Their filet mignon is to die for! It's kind of expensive but it's worth it because they make it the way we like it done and it just melts in your mouth! Mmmmm!
The place that has the best Chinese food is in Reedsburg (Sauk Co.) and it's called the Golden Buffet. They have the best General Tsao's chicken plus they have some "regular" food for those who don't care for Chinese as much. Another good Chinese restaurant is the China Buffet in Platteville (Grant Co.). They have great food for a cheap price.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant is the Fiesta Fe in Richland Center (Richland Co.). We love their tacos and chicken fajitas and they are really inexpensive. Two people can eat there for about $15 total.
As for Italian food...I make the best spaghetti of course. LOL But when we go out, we like to go to Olive Garden at West Towne Mall in Madison. I love their lasagna and their salad with the "house dressing".
I like to go to Champp's in Brookfield to eat. They have a good variety on their menu and usually give you a lot. They always have items on the menu for limited time, kind of like specials of the week or month. I often check those first and those usually are good. Had many good meals there.
It's also a sports bar & restaurant, so expect a lot of noise if something is going on like a football game. I avoid those times, but if that's your thing, go ahead. I wish they had an area of the restaurant that was away from the noisy TV's, but they don't. Not all of us want to eat with loud TV's on.
I think there is a Champp's by Southridge Mall, but I haven't been out there in so long that I don't know for sure.
