Our town is bigger at 12,000+ but if we get 10 or more garage sales a weekend, that'd be alot.. when I lived in Rochester, NY, there were usually a few hundred at least to go to (between individual sales, complex or community sales, etc).. and as I said, it's usually the same people giving sales from one week to the next..
Could be because there are quite a few antique malls and flea markets in the area.. not many finds there tho.
Anyone have any luck at yard sales this weekend? I found a few items. A Linksys wireless router, Magellan hand held GPS, a 16 foot extension ladder and a few other odds n ends.

For some reason Garage Sales just aren't as alluring to me this year. I drive by slowly but never see enough to make me park and get out. I know that is bad since you never know what hidden treasure can be under a table in the back of the garage. lol
Exactly.. sometimes it's something small in the "quarter" box that's worth the whole trip.. I'll usually look unless it's all "baby clothes"..

I think I mentioned this one time before somewhere here but one time I stopped at a sale and didn't find much until I looked under a table and found a full box of glass negatives of people, families, babies, etc from way back maybe early 1900's or before? I paid $5.00 for the box.
I never did anything with them but every once in a while I take them out. Makes for a good conversation piece.
Some of those could be worth some real money to a collector depending on what they depict.. I like old occupational scenes and store fronts.

We stopped at an Estate Sale today that had a bunch of good collector pieces but they knew what they were worth. That takes the fun out of it since you know you aren't going to get a really good 'steal' of a deal then. lol
Our city wide yard sales are this weekend. I didn't plan it this year...I let someone else do it this time. I don't know if I'm even going to have time to put anything out anyhow. It would be a good weekend to have one since the airport is having their fly-in/drive-in display of airplanes on Saturday and the Country In the Country Festival is going on for three days just a short distance out of town so a lot of traffic will go through here to get to it.
Time to clean out the cobwebs and start this thread back up for the 2011 Garage Sales
We had 5 sales this weekend. Didn't find much but did buy some console type games priced at a buck for the lot. I looked up the prices and wow. I took the lower end selling prices and the games are worth $186.00.
I felt a little bad figuring the price was only a dollar so I gave the seller a little more for the games. Can't wait for next week
Wow, the sales were really going strong today. Seemed like every corner was a sign. I didn't stop at any of them since I was short on cash. Had to save what money I had to use for the gas tank. Oh well. Hope someone had a good day and found some bargains.

We had our "city" wide sales yesterday.. I went to a few on my way to the store.. same old, same old.. nearly always the same people giving sales, dragging out the same stuff.
Our city wide sales were going on this weekend as well. I spent about four hours on Friday going to them.
I found a few good bargains. I bought 3 brand new picture albums for 50 cents each just like the one I bought at Wal Mart last week for $8.00. Guess I should have waited a week. I also found some apple decorations for my kitchen and some Easter and Christmas decorations really cheap. I was looking at a box full of stuffed animals at a yard sale that were new with the tags still on them and when I told the guy I was getting them for prizes for the little kids at my family reunion, he told me to just take them all for free. I guess that was the best bargain of the day.
My buddy's dog chewed up my computer mouse so I had been on a quest for a new, preferably wireless, one.. stopped by the Salvation Army Thrift Store today and picked up a Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel for $1.
It's that time a year again so I'm bumping this up to see if anyone has stopped at a sale yet? I know it's a bit early but I saw several signs out this past weekend.
