Re: Wisconsin: What Would You Do With A Million Dollars?
What would YOU do with a million dollars?
I'd pay off all my bills, make sure I had the things I need to be comfortable then give alot of it away either to help my community or some worthy charity....
Re: Wisconsin: What Would You Do With A Million Dollars?
I'd buy the things I really need right now. I'd invest some and maybe give some to family, but not too much since I'd probably have to watch them spend it stupidly. Then I'd sell my house and move somewhere warmer.
I have never been one to be stupid with my money, so I know lots of thought would go into how I spent it.

Been there, done that so yeah, I'd be careful who knew and how much I gave..

I would pay off our bills, sell our house and move us and my mom some place warmer, give some money to all of my siblings...but not a penny to my husband's family (his choice), pay for my son's college degree and buy a house for my other son's family. I would give some to charity and then not let anyone else know we had it because I'm sure they would be coming out of the woodwork wanting some.

My kids & i would live comfortable & i'd donate time & money to help the homeless & children in need.
Good answer. I would also make sure college funds were set up for our kids/grand kids, pay off my oldest daughter's college loans and invest a chunk so it would still be a lot there for the kids future.

Pay off mortgage and debt. Make home improvements. Grow the business, buy the offices we're in. Advertise - including theBubbler. Buy land and plan for and build retirement home. Trip to Europe.
Re: Wisconsin: What Would You Do With A Million Dollars?
That didn't work too well either.. took my brother's family out to buy clothes and regular coats weren't good enough, they wanted leather. We gave them money to pay some pressing bills, they wanted money enough to pay ALL their bills.
I'd probably try to do something anonymously.

and spend some of my time each day assiting elderly with routine tasks that they can no longer do by themselves.

I already consider myself semi-retired travel would definitely be something I'd want to do. Have seen most of the US at one time or another, plus have been to Canada and Mexico (tho not extensively). Would love to see the rest of the world.
Re: Wisconsin: What Would You Do With A Million Dollars?
How did I forget the part about traveling as something I would do. I would go to all the places I wanted to see before I die. That means there won't be any money leftover for my family members. Awww too bad!

I like the answer I gave before but alot of things have been changing in my life since then and if I were to win a Million right now I would have to sound more greedy and say that I would first have to set up a good fund or find a good investment to help make the money grow so that I could live on it since there doesn't seem to be any jobs for women my age. I hope to never be a burden to my children in years to come.
I hope that somehow there is enough to also help with college funds for my kids as well so they can get a good start in life.
