Anyone else having trouble doing State taxes on line?

I tried four times in the last two days to do my son's taxes by using the revenue.wi.gov site and I can't seem to get it to submit. I keep getting this message: "ERROR Your return submission was not successful. Please make sure you are connected to the internet." Gee...I was connected to the internet every time since you have to go on line to access their site! I am wondering if the problem might be from having to down load the newer version of Adobe 9? But the revenue.wi.gov website said I had to use that version in order to file it on line and I down loaded that yesterday. So....does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I want to get his taxes filed asap so I can do his FAFSA this weekend.

I run into this every single year (you would think i'd learn huh? lol). Mine is because i use firefox & that site doesn't work well with firefox. If you have saved it as a pdf open the website in a IE window & then open your pdf & submit.... every year i first attempt with firefox & laugh at myself cuz i always get to the end & before i submit, i remember lol luckily you can just switch over to IE & not have to re-type it all.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! After reading your post, I tried submitting it via Internet Explorer and it worked right away the very first time! Yay! I'm so glad you shared this information with me. I put a note in his file so hopefully I will remember next year. BTW....did I say Thank You!? LOL

You would think that they would either make it work with FF as well or at least tell you on their site that it doesn't work with FF.

I do my fedral on firefox & then switch to state & never think twice until i'm at least half through... Glad it helped you out!

I know... right? I say that every year too! they should at least mention that the site is best used with IE... it lets you do the forms and all & then at the end it wont submit, makes you think it's not the actual site that doesnt work & you are doing something wrong, since it lets you do the rest.

That's a major inconvenience. Microsoft IE down to 63 to 70% of the market, depending on which survey you look at.

BTW...he got his tax refund check six days from the time I filed it via IE.

Well i wouldn't count on me to remind you, that's for sure lol

I got mine 6 days later as well & my son got his after 4 days. Since his was a simple return, i imagine that's why his came quicker.

write your state representative.
The State won't accept a homestead credit filings unless you file a federal income tax return. Unless you have an income, there's no call to file a federal tax return.
