Remember your first car? What kind was it and how did you come by it?
Did you buy it yourself? New or used? Where'd you get it?
My first car was a 1959 Plymouth with a push button transmission.. I got it in 1969 for $3.50! No floor boards in the back (I could tell you a story about that one ) but we had a great time running around in it.
I once had it up to 110mph at an abandoned air strip!
My first car was a Dodge Charger, not sure of the year. I bought it myself after working a couple of different jobs and being sick of driving around my parents' old beater that us kids got to use. It was silver with black and red stripes on. It was a bit faded and dull so I had it repainted in a pretty blue with silver stripes. I bought the car from Hub in Milwaukee. I don't think they are in business anymore.
My husband has a better story about his first car. He found it at a farm and they had used the hood to butcher pigs on. He got it for $50. He stuck a lot more money into it to make it nice again.

My first car was a used 1965 Ford Fairlane that my parents bought me after I graduated from high school in 1977 and they paid $100 for it at a car lot in Richland Center. It had a hole in the floor board on the driver's side which they didn't see until later because the floor mat was covering it. I learned how to drive in that and got my license with it, too. I kept it for six months and then I traded it in on a red '72 Plymouth Fury. That car could really fly...I sure wish I still had it!
Only he can tell it better. They actually used his story last year on Bob & Brian (The Hog radio station) when the topic was your first car you owned. There was some pretty good stories.

My husband had a car, or maybe it was one of his friends, that had a hole in the floor and they would throw garbage or beer cans out of the hole to get rid of it. That's teenagers for you.

That's my story as well.. we were driving around in my Plymouth one night when we saw a police car turn his red light on behind us. Let's just say we dropped a fairly large baggie out the hole in the floorboards, only to have the cop car speed by us!

"Apparently chicks dug the Chargers back in the day"
LOL....so true! My hubby's first car (boyfriend at the time) was also a Dodge Charger though I don't remember the exact year but it was early 60's I think. His grandparents gave it to him after they were broadsided in it. The passenger door no longer opened so when we went on dates, I had to get in the driver's side and scootch over. That car had nice roomy seats...front and back [turning slightly red here] and you could snuggle up to your sweetheart while he drove with one hand on the wheel and the other around your shoulder. Those were the days!
My first vehicle was in 1988 and was a 1980 Datsun, silver in color.
Paid for it myself, I got it from a dealership that gave me weekly payments from my work check, because my parents had been buying cars from them for years. I believe i paid $600 or maybe $700 for it.
