I met my hubby when we were both 15...he was my high school sweetheart and my first "serious" boyfriend. My family had just moved to a new school district during my Sophomore year and one day between classes, this guy came up to me and asked me to go to the Snow Ball dance with him. I said I would have to ask my parents since I wasn't allowed to date yet. Since I didn't know him, I had to ask him his name and then I checked around school to see if he had a "bad reputation" or anything. I had to beg and plead with my parents before they agreed to let me go on a date but only under the conditions that they met him first and that we were going with other couples and not alone. When I told him at school that my parents said I could go, he yelled "YES" really loud in class and got in trouble from the teacher. LOL The day my parents were supposed to meet him, we had a huge snow storm so they ended up not getting to meet him until the night of the date, but they were quite impressed with him. He had been working for his dad's company operating heavy equipment since he was 8 and he was very mature for his age. We had a great time at the dance and just starting "going steady" after that. He eventually gave me his class ring and then shortly after graduation, he asked me to marry him and the class ring was replaced with an engagement ring. We were married one year later to the day and we've been together for 30 years now.
Well, it is Valentine's Day, today, and in true Wisconsin fashion, my husband and I went to a gun show today!
Actually, I have a Wisconsin love story. My husband and I met via Yahoo messenger and although it is not always considered the best way to meet, it worked out well for us. I saved a lot of those chats, and his first words to me were "What beautiful kitties!" In reference to the picture of my cats that I had on my profile. We started out as friends, as I was not interested in someone who smoked I did not think any more about him. It ended up that when I really needed someone to be there for me, he was there. In the end I decided to overlook his bad habit of smoking, and we managed to fall in love with each other.
Things may not always be perfect, but everyday is a good day with him in my life, and he says he has never been happier in his life.
That's awesome!
I met the only man i've ever truly loved online. Been 7 years since then, but till this day I can not say a bad word about that man, he is still the best thing to happen to me during the worst times of my life & that i am truly greatful to him & the internet for.

That is really neat! I have friends who've met their significant others on the internet too. Congrats to you!

Thanks, but we aren't together lol
He lives 1000 miles away & is the best friend i could ever ask for. Sadly enough, he lives too far away & friends is all it can be, but the love will always be there for us both & though we have both moved on, we still talk & text several times a week or more, at least.
