All Aboard the Historic Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad in Spooner, Wisconsin for the hottest party in all of Northwestern Wisconsin. Board the 1920's era train for a 5 hour - 40 mile roundtrip through the northwoods. Enjoy the Italian Buffet in the dining car or the Mexican Buffet in the buffet car and satisfy your cravings with Hors d'ouevres throughout the train. Cash bars are available on a number of cars so you will not go thirsty looking for your next drink. Complimentary shuttle service is availble from/to 5 local hotels.
Boarding begins at 6:30 and the train departs the station at 8:00 pm. Dance to the sounds of Hurricane Hamilton who is traveling all the way from Panama City Beach for the party. The hardwood dance floor and the disco lights will have the club car rockin' all night long. Listen to the sounds of local country artist Joe Weiss or help entertain the crowd in the Karaoke car. Feel free to move throughout the six car train while it meanders through the countryside. Although i have spent well over that at the club, whether it be new years eve or not lol BUT to me a club would be more worth it, where a restaurant/bar would be more worth it to someone else.
I think I'll be checking out the bars that have no cover. If I hang out around town, there's always plenty of people out and about to run into. Can't go wrong there.
The cover charges to see a band on New Year's is getting to be too much. Most bars don't offer much extra that night, they just know that people will pay more. I don't blame them for trying to make more money, but I have to watch my spending, too.
