Everyone enjoys some music every now and then. Do you listen to music online, do you have a favorite free radio stream? Lets hear about it

I'm not big on listening to commercial radio for music. Too many "in your face" commercials. I believe the quality and pertinence of the commercials are a testimonial to the sales staff and production crew.

I have a vast library of music on the ole' media player.

I like AM Talk. But, when the sun sets, the signal scatters.

I went looking on the web for a free stream of my favorite night time radio program, and found one from a Birmingham Alabama station. AM 960 WERC does it for me. This station streams the entirety of their daily programming.

They start out with a hour long Wall Street Report, followed by 5 hours of local talent that schnibble about the national news, along with their personal take on local goings-on. Then a nationally syndicated political talk show for 3 hours. Another local call-in show for 4 hours.

I turn it off around 6pm, catch up on some reading...maybe take care of some household chores, while listening to random music selections on the media player. Then my favorite night time radio program "airs", and I settle in for the night.

I do not use the radio persay....but found a couple neat awesome sites for the theme music side of me....
one for the Elvis lover in me....many ETA's here....

to me music is music...be it on radio streamed or thru music players....

The tributes site is where I met the Janesville ETA..Jesse Aron and his beautiful wife Tarie who is a Marilyn TA.....have not met in person rather met in the ETA site...

Mostly public radio and talk here. 89.7 and 90.7, WUWM and WHAD, respectively.

I like 88.9 fm - Radio Milwaukee - 88Nine Radio Milwaukee and online I like WMSE, including Wrightman's, "Don't worry Mom, it's only music."

Mostly iTunes online, inlcuding converted DCs.

My fav is 99ROCK - The Gulf Coast Rock Station - WKSM - Fort Walton Beach, Destin aka "99 Rock"
You can listen live on their website and they also have a webcam in the studio. Although the "Morning Movement" team of Murph & Leslie from 6-9am turn the camera so you can't see.

It's just a rock station, w/commercials, but I LOVE listening to the Morning Movement and then Woofy's shift from 9-2pm. Classic Rock & Modern Rock.

Murph & Leslie are pretty darn funny.....

They are based in Ft. Walton Beach and Destin, FL.
Pretty big station down here in Florida, they get alot of bands that stop in and record accoustic songs right in the studio, not released anywhere, where is cool. Hinder was just in the studio last week and recorded one of their songs on the air.

Wow, 99 Rock just said the band NAZARETH is going to be in the studio today around lunchtime.....haven't thought about THEM in years! I guess they're playing somewhere around here tonight.........that band brings back a few "big hair" memories!

I only listen to pandora and last.fm. I like only hearing the kind of music I want to hear, and the way they play new music which is relative to your tastes.

I've listened to pandora on line before too and it's pretty good. I haven't heard of last.fm before. I will have to check it out.

Lately, I've been tuning in to WDRT 91.9 fm. I can only get it on line since their signal isn't strong enough to reach this far. It's a newer station that was started up last year by some individuals (some people call them "old hippies") in the area between Viroqua and Soldiers Grove. They have NO commercials and operate on donations only. They play all types of music which is chosen by which ever dj is on the air at the time, so it is a different kind of music every few hours which ranges from "old timing hillbilly" music to 70's rock to techno. One of my friends' husbands is a dj there in the mornings. I really like it for the variety. Check it out at:

Streams live. Local and distant stations.
