I know most of you don't want to hear this but... the snow is coming. I checked the weather this morning and was surprised to see a winter snow watch message, check it out:
from 1 pm CDT, Sun., Oct. 26, 2008 until 7 pm CDT, Mon., Oct. 27, 2008
THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.
MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES AND A PERSISTENT NORTHWESTERLY FLOW WILL RESULT IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW FROM THE BAYFIELD PENINSULA EAST TO THE GOGEBIC RANGE SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY. SNOW INTENSITY AND COVERAGE WILL INCREASE SUNDAY EVENING AND PERSIST THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. AT THIS TIME... SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES APPEAR POSSIBLE IN THE FAVORED TERRAIN... WITH LESSER AMOUNTS FURTHER INLAND. IN ADDITION TO THE FALLING SNOW... GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.
THIS WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS AND STRONG WINDS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.
I was going to cut the grass one more time this year but I guess I can put it off till next year.
Sounds like you are getting the Lake Superior effect..brrrr! I was talking to someone from Alaska yesterday online and she said it was going to be below zero this weekend there and has seen -80 while living there. No thanks!
I've been watching the weather keeping an eye on Sunday's temps especially. Got lots of outside work done today. I think it might be my last day to do anything out there with out freezing.
I have to say that being an "old man" sucks.. I ache all over in this weather and i really used to enjoy colder weather. Still t-shirt weather for me in the 50's.. must be those male menopause hot flashes keep me warm
One of these years I'll be lucky enough to live in a warm state where I wont have to deal with snow.....
I been saying that for 20 yrs & even did it once when i moved back home (Texas) in 1999, however the pay & non-benefits there were sad so i ended up back here before the snow had a chance to fly again *sigh* i cant win!
I've lived in the South as much as the North and can't take the heat or humidity.. give me 6 feet of snow anyday (though I don't care much for slush, bah!)

I cant stand the Texas heat anymore, it hit 110 in March & i was like ready to come back to the snow!! BUT i hate the snow & freezing cold too lol i need to go where it's 65-70º year around!
Saw a few flakes about 8 pm last night. That's enough for me. I'm ready for spring and summer!
I'll take the heat and humidity any day!!
I heard we had a few flakes in Madison last night & a guy here at work just told us that it's snowing right now... i agree, it can go right ahead & stop now!
Have you ever lived in heat & humidity? I know i use to say that i'd prefer that, when i first started dealing with WI weather & no way! after having moved back home & dealing with it for 4 months i dont care to ever do that again! I cant imagine having never delt with it & going from WI weather to TX weather, it's not all it's cracked up to be when it's sooooo bad you have to be indoors in air con to breath.
I just watched the snow hit the ground and disappear. Alot fell for awhile, but it transformed and left. That's just fine by me. I can handle the snow...for a while. It really doesn't stay around long...relatively.
I have managed to not see snow yet this year, i'd like to keep it that way for awhile plz. Although i am happy to have 4X4 this winter finally, i'm still in no hurry for it... i just may cry when i see the first snow fall for myself lol
Wow, sitting in the parking lot a short time ago waiting for my son and grandson to come to my van. Suddenly the wind picked up, dark clouds showed up, it went from 42 degrees to 36 degrees in a matter of about 15 minutes. I watched as sleet, hail, and then big blots of snow hit my van/windshield. The snow was pushed across the parking lot by the wind like waves in the lake. It was strange to watch it all play out in front of me.
It lasted about 15 minutes and ended about the time the boys came out to the van. The parking lot melted quickly but evidence of the snow was all against the edges where the wind blew it.
The short way home everything melted and it went up a couple of degrees again.
To bad that couldn't be all there was of snow for the winter. lol Wishful thinking.
Those temps aren't too bad as long as it's not humid at the same time..
