Good Morning Everyone

I can't believe i'm still awake at almost 3am!! I hate when i fall asleep early watching tv & find myself awake all night, oh well.

Hope you all have had a good start to the weekend!!

Here's what's on my mind right now. All the good people here. I want to try to name them all but I couldn't (won't be awake for enough hours). Present and former Staff, Moderators, Members and new people like you, Chica, keep this place interesting. Seems like there is an ideal we all have...

Our interests, our ideals, our fondness for critters and our State, and our need to communicate - all this overlaps among us here enough to make me realize there are a lot of special people here, making this a great place to meet and talk. Thanks for being here, everyone.

This will be a fun topic. Thanks for starting it.

I just thought I would add something that I noticed the other night..err..'early' morning. I say 'early' because I too am one of those that will fall asleep watching t.v. and then wake up around 1:00 - 2:00 a.m. and can't get back to sleep for awhile. So I come here and post for awhile. The great thing is a lot of the times I notice members here right along with me. This is truly like a 24/7 forum where the activity almost never stops!

Not sure what that says about 'us' lol but at this point I am not sure I want to know..because I am having fun. This is one of the most friendly forums I have ever come across. It's really as if we actually 'know' one another.

Anyways, that's all I want to add. lol Oh..except, good morning everyone.

It's 43 here this morning. Have Frost all around.....

Had to give in and kick in that furnace for awhile..... my birds are all puffed up trying to tell me they are cold...

I'm cold, so I know they are cold!

Growing up that is how it was and to date that is how it is....I need the TV to attempt to sleep. I sleep horrible. I doze, wake up, do stuff, watch TV, maybe doze....it's a nasty cycle I can't break. Even with the doc had me try ambien. Nope, I was up and down, only a cloudy up and down.

Some times I make it here, a lot of times I turn on Soap net and play catch up there.

Love the Garage Sales! Didn't go to as many this year. Money is tight and gas prices is way to high.

Hope everyone still wants to come out when I have my HUGE fall sale soon.

I refuse to turn it on until before November 1st. Hope we can make it that long this year too.

Same here...just didn't get to as many as I'd have liked. Gas prices, critters tying me down.

That's my original plan, but I could not stick to it today.... the house was just too cold. I already got it off. Had to get rid of that chill.

ohhh did i hear someone say garage sale?? I loooove garage sales!!

I cant believe you were all up so late, i thought i was bad lol I finally fell out around 3:30am. I work days now, but prior to this i worked 3rd shift for 6 yrs, in turn i remain a night owl & tend to stay up all night on Fridays & Saturdays.

My mom, who is ill, just moved in with me this week & she needs 24/7 care, so my social life (as if i had one anyway lol) is out the door & i will be spending much more time on the home front, so don't mind me, i may be popping in here quite a bit over the next couple months from home, as well as from work

How's everyones weekend so far?

Doesn't matter how late I go to sleep or how little I sleep my alarm goes off early. Usually I am always awake around 5:40 and up before 6:00 a.m.

Saturday mornings my 15 year old goes to Chinese School so it's like another school morning just she starts a little later than regular mornings.

I did however walk through the flower gardens at Lincoln Park today. I love the flowers in the Fall and usually get some very pretty pictures.

Not today.

The flowers were all but dead already. That is really unusual for the fall. What is going on with the Fall Flowers? Just the mums were still pretty.

Oh well...maybe next year.

She attends a charter Bill Gates High School during the week. And does e-school for a Spanish course at home which is a credit since she is totally fluent in Spanish (she spent all elementary and middle school in a duo language school for spanish), her high school Spanish class didn't fit for her... and then she goes to a Chinese School here in Kenosha on Saturday mornings to learn Chinese. She's been doing this for about 5 years now. What can I say, she likes to learn.

It's weird, even with no one around I still hate to sleep in late. I'm a morning person. Also I don't like sleeping. To me that is such a waste of time. lol What are you accomplishing if you are just laying there with your eyes closed is what I figure.

Things are going on in the world and I'm sleeping! not good. lol

Good for her!! My daughter was offered Freshman Spanish while in 8th grade. They allowed her to leave the middle school, walk to the high school for the class and then back to middle school when done.

She's now in advanced Spanish and is well ahead of the other kids her grade level.

It was sad last year when she started high school and the only class they offered was work she did in Kindergarten! lol Actually Kindergarten was harder. The teacher spoke a 90/10 concept. 90 percent Spanish and 10 percent English all day. The 5 year olds caught on real fast it was amazing. By the time she left in 5th grade she was totally fluent not only in speaking, but in writing skills as well since most of her subjects (math, history etc.) was in Spanish and her homework wrote out in Spanish to. It did lower to 50/50 by about 3rd grade so she took in English as well.

I loved the school. She learned so much more than any other school could have taught her. Actually my son and grandson went through it also. My son is in the 8th grade now and my grandson in 7th. Both are Bilingual and bi literate also.

My son is also in his 2nd year of French.

Oh..my daughter took 2 years of French also and had the opportunity (with a lot of fundraising with Mom)..to go on a Quebec trip. That was awesome for her.

Kids do pick up on the different languages much easier/faster when introduced at a younger age.

Friends of mine recently adopted 2 boys from Ethiopia and both being under 6 they are picking up the english language very fast.

The one is already attending our kindergarten class in town and after getting over the initail fear of his new surroundings he is doing great!
