Laredo's off East Wash. Only been there once, since we were on our way to Tumbleweed and found out they closed.
I think Italian is my favorite to go out for. Gino's on State St. is my fave. Their lasagna and bolognese sauce are both awesome. A bit more expensive than some Italian places, but when food is good, I'll pay it once in a while. Have to treat yourself sometimes.
We don't get out for Chinese too often, but I like Imperial Garden.
Here we go again talking about food
Laredos is good, that's about as close to authentic as you will get in madison, we go there once in a while... had my sons last b-day party there. La Bamba on E. wash is 100% authentic, the people there are way cool as well.
Ice is bad. Latina I hope that your son will be ok.Tamed be thankful nothing is broke. It is windy here today and not to nice. Im staying inside today.
Thanks Randy, appreciate that.
What is the 'not so nice' temp over there today? Just curious...

La-la-la-la Bamba...la-la bamba...sorry, that makes me think of the song. Is La Bamba the place that has the burrito's bigger than your head or whatever their slogan is?
I think the owners or maybe it's family members of Laredos also own El Mariachi in Lake Mills and Watertown. We go there sometimes.

Yeah that's the place, Burritos as big as your head... never had a burrito there myself, but that's what my son usually gets.
Laredos owners use to own a restaurant near E. Wash & hwy 51, it was a caribbean/latino place with some awesome food! They also had hip hop & caribbean dances there every Friday & sometimes mexican dances on saturdays, was always a busy busy place, however they closed it down last year... they also own La Hacienda on Park St. Madison, the owners are very cool people & mostly it's their family and close friends working there.
hmmm El Mariachi sounds familiar, i know i never been to one in those cities, they must have one elsewhere... i just may have to swing on over to watertown or Lake Mills & try them out real soon! *checks weekend agenda*

Kind of reminds me of this place we ate at twice on 2 different trips to Arizona. They had calzones bigger than your head. We learned after the first visit to order one meal and split between us. Even the second visit we ordered one calzone and 2 salads. They come out with homemade bread before the meal and then we couldn't even finish one calzone. If I'm ever in that area again, that's one place I'll be stopping again. It's fun to watch them toss the pizza dough around in the air.

the burritos are seriously not that big... i guess if you got 101 things in it, but my son usually gets these lil skinny ones with just 2 or 3 choices of stuff.
Sounds way cool.. I love steak OMG do i love me some steak!
I been craving prime quarter for weeks! been trying to get someone to go with me... my son would go with, but i'd have to pay for us both, i want someone to go & pay their own way so it cost me $25 instead of $50 lol
I just thought of a place you might like some time, it you're up for a road trip. One of my fave Mexican restaurants is Senor Tomas in Hartland. They also own Taco Amigo off of Silvernail in Waukesha. What I like about them is that they offer different menu items, not the same old tacos and burritos. Their mole sauce is so good and they have a few dishes that use a jalapeno cream sauce that is just the right amount of spice. I love their jalapeno cornbread with the mango dipping sauce. They just have so many different dishes and combinations. They even have one dish with cactus in it. I prefer going to Senor Tomas over Taco Amigo, just because it's much more colorfully decorated. The food is the same, though.
Dang, now I'm getting hungry. I want me some of that cornbread.
Menu for Senor Tomas
LOL, while I'm at it. Another Mexican restaurant I like is in Johnson Creek (across from their high school). It's called Fiesta Garibaldi. What I like about them is the gorgeous murals on the walls and ceiling. Sometimes on weekends they have the strolling musicians. Oh, and the food is good. I like the fish tacos there.
Right now I'm eating my leftover chinese food. All this food talk got me hungry.

mmm dang now i'm hungry toooo Thanks a lot Blue!!! lol luckily its lunch time, but i brought no lunch, how was i to know we'd be talking food in here... i should of guessed lol
That sounds good.. there are numerous mex dishes that include cactus, i personally do not eat cactus... I don't drive thru Hartland too often, but next time i do, you can bet i'll remember this

Was just looking at their menu and doesn't look like there is much i'd order there, i'm picky when it comes to mex food lol BUT when in Johnson Creek i will stop in anyway... i try not to doubt much till i've tried it... which explains my weight grrr lol
I'm eating a bacon chsburger now, u made me hungry!
I was just thinking that we don't really have a restaurant forum here do we? I wonder if it would go under the eats and drinks forum, because I really didn't see any restaurants listed there.

Funny how so many posts on theBubbler always seem to turn to food... either we're eating too much or not enough but glancing thru the posts we sure like to talk about it! Bon appetite!
I made a 9x13 Dutch Chocolate cake the other night, gave half to the neighbors, and just about to finish off the last of it.
Hi, Kelly.. I know what it's like not having insurance.. I used to have full coverage thru the photo studio I worked at but don't have any now. My last job's insurance plan was so pitiful I only opted for vision so I could get glasses thru work. I hope you're feeling better now.
Amazing how routinely heart surgery is performed these days... it's still major surgery but I've known many people who've had surgeries that have really improved the quality of their lives afterward. Nice to hear your sister's surgery was a success!
I think I actually have Fishdom installed on my computer somewhere. I like puzzle games and hidden object games on the computer. I also like my poker and casino games.

They switched insurance companies the 1st of the year and up til yesterday no one had medicine coverage at all. It was all supposed to be transferred and be able to use immediately. Well, couldn't afford the meds out right so I had to suffer and wait. Man, they got an ear full from me...let me tell ya. I can be a mean bag when I want to.
Anyway, waiting for my new game to come in the mail that my sister ordered for me for my birthday that is coming up. I got addicted to a trial online version of a computer game called Fishdom. Got up to the 25th level then they said, we hope you liked the trial version...buy the real version. I almost cried I was so addicted. Well, the game should be arriving today!! I am sooo excited. BUT....I told myself there are fish that need to moved downstairs and I cannot install the game unless that is done. So......I am off to do that so I can play the game when it arrives. I'm so excited! With each level you win money that you can in return set up your virtual aquarium and buy fish, plants, filters, foods etc. It is so cool!
I also have been reading a book called Dewey about a kitten. Check it out online at BarnesNoble or Amazon.
Oh yeah, my sister (the younger one) had heart surgery yesterday as well. It went well...they found the problem. So I have been very very busy.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day. I am off to move babies.
Everyone say a prayer...my husband came home today from work and said they were all informed Monday there will be a layoff. They won't say yet how many people. Won't find out til Monday. God I hope he is not one of them.

It was in the 60's today with gusting COLD wind....ok if you stay in the sun sort of day. Which I did since I was walking dogs.
But dropping down into the 40's now. Not complaining ONE BIT after perusing this forum! And I talked with Sig-Other tonight, he's working in KC and they are in the low teens at best. Brr!
(he travels for work)
He said if it hits ZERO, he may blow off a concert next weekend and head back down! Otherwise, I won't see him until April. Works for me.
Wow, lots of stuff going on with everyone, worried about not seeing Carol on here. Anyone heard ANYTHING?
Off to bed I go, all this talk about FOOD is making me crazy-hungry though! I have a boring turkey sandwich awaiting......
nite nite.

I hope he's not one of them either. Getting laid off really sucks, but I've been through it about 6 times now. I haven't been able to stay at a place for over a year before something happens. If I ever reach a one year anniversary with a company, there's going to be a party and you're all invited. It might just be an online party, but you can still all be here.
