I hope everyone is enjoying this sunny but cool day!
I went with my husband to his doctor appointment this morning and was surprised that his glucose level had come down some, especially considering that he can't seem to resist buying those little boxes of heart candies at the gas station lately. We stopped for some lunch at the donut shop afterwards...no donuts for us, but they do have really good sandwiches and soup there.
I just finished working on paperwork for my tax appointment this week. I'm just waiting on the win/loss statement from one casino yet and I will be all set!
Now I plan to spend the rest of the day and evening working on genealogy stuff for the D.A.R.
I am probably the only one that didn't have an interest in watching the Super Bowl.
We didn't watch either. You can always catch the commercials online without the interruptions of a football game.
I wanted to see the new OK Go music video that I read about. I guess I'll have to catch that online as well. Their videos are always so creative and they don't usually spend a lot to make them. They do a lot with very little.

I have been following your posts on the genealogy research. I have been tracing back my husbands family tree and can get all the way back to the Great Grandpa marrying Maria, who is Native American, and then anything of her past I can't pick up.

That's wonderful Carol! I love to hear about other people's family research.
Did you know they will be releasing the 1940 Federal Census to the public in April? I've been waiting for that for awhile now.
Do I dare say "wow it's a bit cold out there!"...... with as mild a winter we have had. It could be so much worse.
It was misting out here this morning but has since cleared off and is in the mid 30s now. Yesterday I couldn't seem to get warm enough...I even had a portable heater going in my office. But today, I seem to be too warm. Darn menopause! LOL
It's chilly in here tonight or it's just me from being in and out all day. But I got the gas bill in the mail today and with that in mind I'm not turning the heat up that's for sure. Found my sweatshirt and put that on and think that is going to have to be good enough. Can't afford any more bills!
I never watch Dr. Phil so not sure what made me stop to check out what was on there tonight but it turned out to be a very sad but interesting show.
The show centered around a woman that is now 18 years old that was held captive in a dark closet from the ages of 2 -8 years old! The parents (yes, I said 'parents!) took her out only to repeatedly have sex with her and then throw her back in the closet. They would constantly beat her, never clean the little space, rarely gave her clothes, hardly feed her. It was amazing she even survived but she did and was on the show to tell her story. Wow, a very disturbing story but yet it was amazing to see how strong and determine this girl is to make a good life now.
I was so glad to hear that her parents both received life in prison. But will say that doesn't even seem like a hard enough sentence after the torture they inflicted on this poor innocent child. Sad, sad, story.
If it is ever on again it would be worth it to watch all over again.

Did you notice that your last bill was higher than the one before? Mine sure was and we are always turning down the heat at night or when we leave the house. Same goes for turning off lights when not in the room. It seems the harder you try to save you still end up with high bills. Yeah, we go for the sweatshirts on at all times in the house except for summer. A nice cozy blanket on the couch to curl up under when watching movies helps too. Got to save where you can. We don't get any special breaks, so we have to make our own.

I hate seeing stories like that. It makes me want to do some major harm to the parents or whoever abused the child. I also hate seeing stories about those who abuse women like the sex slave or torture stories. Those that abuse animals, either pets or wild, make me crazy too. I can introduce all of them Blue's house of torture. lol
Have you ever looked on your Member Profile to see how many people have "checked you out?" For some reason 8,561 people looked at mine! Who would've thought I was so popular? LOL

I have around 9000. Lots of people spying on me. lol
I think I'd better go to bed. The two drinks of Butterscotch Schnapps mixed with Hot Sex I had is making me act silly!
What are you naming that one? Hot Sexy Butter?
I took my husband out for a martini last night and we had the chocolate peanut butter cup martini. Was that ever good. I could drink a couple of those. Good thing they're expensive so I limit myself on that. It was a treat for his birthday.
Arrgh, I've been waiting for the last couple of hours for this numb stuff to wear off so I can feel my lip and chin again. Right now I'm starving, but can't eat since it would all end up on my shirt. I hate going to the dentist!

I am thinking the parents wont last long in prison at the hands of others. eye for an eye isn't always best, but in this case i have to say I wouldn't put blame on anyone who handled them the same way they handled their child.

Yes I had to run over to my page and check it out and was quite surprised to see:
This page has had 30,011 visit
Kinda blows your 8,561 away Cindy! lol (just kidding!)
I made lasagna last night too... been sick though so it didn't stay down long
I made a crock pot full of home made sauce today and decided to put together lasagna tonight so I ran to the store for the cheese etc. Got home and realized I forget the lasagna noodles! lol Oh well, didn't feel like putting it all together tonight anyways so will have it tomorrow. (after I go back to the store!)

About a year ago at one of my appointments the Dentist actually hit a nerve incorrectly and it sizzled like he was putting a electric rod in my mouth. Since that's exactly what TMJ feels like I didn't realize he was doing it at first but the second time I almost jumped out of my chair and/or hit him! He felt so bad and said he only did that one other time like 20 years ago to a guy. Not sure exactly what he did but I had to go back for him to check my lower lip on the right side since it didn't actually 'wake' back up and felt numb. I finally quit going since there was nothing he could do and he hoped that it would go away in time.
Now a year later and I still will have trouble with it especially if I am stressed or it gets to cold when I'm outside. Very strange.
I had to get a double dose today when he numbed my mouth. He started drilling and I felt it a little. Not really painful, but just a little too sensitive to be comfortable. I was worried that he would hit something more painful so I raised my hand up to signal for him to stop. Then they numbed it a bit more. It also took 5 hours for the numbness to go away. Normally it takes half that time.
Now my bite feels a bit off. I'm not sure if it is or if it's just sensitive to the touch yet. If it doesn't stop bothering me soon, I'll go back and have him grind it down a bit more in case there's a high spot on the filling. I don't usually have this problem.
