I usually am not a fan of pre made meatballs but when in a hurry or just too tired to care I use an off brand I get at this one store we shop at and they are actually pretty good.
I think I've bought pre-made ones maybe 3 times. This time it was about price more than anything. Hamburger used to be cheap and for meatballs, burgers or meatloaf I won't buy ground beef. It has to be chuck or ground round since both have less fat.
Used to be you could get pre-made turkey meatballs at Aldi's for $1.69 a bag.. haven't bought any in at least a year so I'm sure they've gone up.
I would never use them in spaghetti but they were perfect for sandwiches..

Whoa..I just did not want to get out of bed this morning. It seems so dreary out compared to the sunny days this past week. Freezing rain out right now. Feel sorry for the birds that came back early, and the tiny buds on the trees. But there is still a feel of early Spring out (barely) so I will hold onto that.
Had rotisserie chicken, rice, and peas for dinner.
Once in awhile we find them half price at the grocery store I shop at alot. They are still very good but the date says they have to sell now. Works for me.

Haven't shopped at an Aldi's store in years. We have one but we also have so many other shopping options here too.
I think the last few times I did stop I did not have a quarter on me so I could not 'rent' their cart! I tried shopping without a cart but that didn't work well and we just picked up a few things and left.
It bugs me to rent a cart but I do understand the reasoning behind the idea I guess. But I wonder how many times people walk away and they lose $$ in sales just because a person did not have that one crazy quarter.

I take my mom shopping at Aldi's in Platteville almost every month. There are only a few items I buy from there like napkins, crackers, and once in awhile I buy one of their specialty items. A couple years ago I picked up a nice three compartment buffet server from there. It sure comes in handy for keeping food warm at family gatherings. Oh, and I always leave my quarter in the cart for the next person to use.

We are having freezing rain, sleet and thunder! It doesn't look like there's a lot of traffic on the road right now. Of course hubby got two service calls he has to go out on. It seems like that always happens when the weather is bad.

I buy the rotisserie chicken if I'm going to make chicken casserole or home made chicken soup. It saves a lot of time not having to cook the chicken plus it is more moist than if I'd cooked it so it gives stuff a better flavor.
Just watched this on YouTube.. You'd think they'd have a better place to put their farmer's market..
How many safety violations does that break? Not to mention it's just gross to have food on the ground like that. I'm so glad we don't have to eat food the way they do in other countries. It always looks so unsanitary.
I only buy the half-price rotisserie chickens.. if I have to pay full price, I buy fresh..

I don't think they worry much about safety over there..
And most food comes out of the ground.. and if you ever saw how they prepare most foods in factories or handle it in warehouses, you'd never eat again.
I've been in grain silos in Texas that were literally so full of mice, you could scoop them up in your hands..

My internet kept going out all day.. I use a splitter, checked all the connections and they seemed to be ok but apparently one cable was bad.. when I attached my modem directly to cable, it worked.. need to get another cable. Took me all day to figure that out, lol!
Still no snow here, just freezing rain and sleet on and off most of the day. A few of the schools are delaying for two hours this morning though. I hope the roads improve before late morning or else I will be rescheduling my perm appointment for another day.
My neighbor and I usually watch Joel Osteen at 11pm on Sunday nights.. I went over to her place and walked in at 11 and she was sleeping on the couch so I didn't stay. I thought I heard her say "come in" when I knocjed but guess not. She called me later to say she was back up but I didn't go over.
Haven't looked out the window yet, just hoping there is no ice or snow but I'm sure we have something out there. Just heard we are in for at least 7 inches of snow in the next day or so. (sigh).
If it was going to snow again, why didn't it do it over the weekend when I didn't have to rush around going to school with the kids etc. etc. etc.....

Haven't been to an Aldi's in forever (though we have one close to home here), but it use to bug me too! I also understand the reason behind it, but I'd always forget the quarter until I was in the parking lot, then I'd just leave. I don't carry cash (not even change) very often.
Pretty good weekend. A lot of you were talking about food, so I'll let you know what we had for dinner over the weekend. Parmesan Crusted Chicken, Sweet Potato Casserole, and rolls. Dang, that was good!
We canceled horse riding lessons for my daughter on Sunday - roads just weren't worth the risk. So, my wife and I both took naps! I haven't had a nap in at least a year. My 9 yr old daughter, such a sweetheart, stroked my hair for almost an hour while I napped. I assumed she'd get bored within 5 min, but she kept going. She has such a giving heart!
My wife and I got Gun Fight and La Mesa through Netflix. Wow...worst movie I've ever seen! Was supposed to take place in 1933 - Didn't know they had light switches and phone jacks in 1933. Plus the clothing was modern. The sound and acting were terrible. And nothing was happening! It sounded good in the description, but man, it sucked!
