I feel for the people way down south when it get's cold out, the cold just goes through ya. High humidity and low temps you can really feel. Temps of 40's in Wisconsin would be awesome right now. Oh and when people down south get icy roads half the city closes lol.
I see some people talking about the new digital tv switch coming up next year. It's not as bad as they make it out to be.
Do you have cable tv? How about satellite tv? Your fine, you won't even notice when the change happens. As long as your connected to satellite or cable it doesn't matter what kind of tv you have, you'll be fine.
Do you get your tv over the air with a antenna ( free tv ). Lol, with all the ads they put on tv you'd think tv viewing should be free anyway.
Well then yeah you'll need a converter box and a digital tv antenna.
Some flat pannel tvs only need a digital antenna to work.
Some cheaper flat pannel tvs still only accept a analog signal. You might think flat pannel is digital, not true.
Check the tv, does it accept digital, if so you only need a digital antenna ($100.00 or less to upgrade for antenna).
If not you need a converter ($40.00 rebate from the Gov) and a digital antenna.
Hope this makes sense, need more info just ask.
Oh and it's Friday evening, have a great weekend everyone
Oh, I already have cable so "I" don't have to worry.. just know plenty of other people who are being forced to convert.. yup, I said forced. No one gave us an option.
Good thing I didn't buy that pocket tv last year because that one and millions more sold just like it are gonna be worthless paperweights.
Perfectly good small camp tv's that run on AC or battery? Same way...
Neat gadget, but soon to be worthless to anybody who bought one (and they're still being offered for sale):
Why should we be forced to pay to upgrade? Can't think of any really good reason other than it's lining someone else's pockets.
Yeah, doesn't affect me directly.. but I vehemently disagree with it.

Today is Mr.GrumpyDave Day.. moving to a cabin near the Arctic Circle where the snow will be six feet deep year round and my only friends will be ravenous wolves with lots of gnashing teeth.
Man just seems like yesterday I was here and I missed 4 pages. WOW. It was 3 degrees here this morning. I feel so sorry for my little dog. His feet sure do not like the cold ground.
I sure am looking forward to meeting Keith Sunday.
Hey Keith, remember Mike in chat after the auction? mbovinet? He is from Nebraska. Talked to him yesterday, he called to say his tanks and stuff came in ok. I told him I hope to still see him around on the Bubbler and he said definately. He has never seen so much different stuff on one site and that it was awesome. So he will definitely be back again and again.
Great - looking forward to meeting you and picking up my great auctions bargains. I'll have to see if Christian left a camera in the studio. See you Sunday.

Didn't realize that was happening to anyone else. I've see a bunch of pages come up blank as far as the ads are concerned. Might be a reason why we're 1/2 to 2/3 off of where we were with Ad$ense at this time last month!

You know, I got a chance to read the thread this morning, but by the time I did, I didn't have a chance to post!
Have a great weekend, everyone. Hope to see you some tomorrow.
Soooooo tired...but I can't neglect to mention that I met Santa today! Our Santa Shane from here at theBubbler!
OMG! He's the best lookin' Santa I've seen since Miracle on 34th Street - and our Santa's in color! I'm serious. Perfectly coiffed white hair and beard and a luxurious suit with hat and well-worn and impecabbly cared-for boots and belt. Just wonderful to talk with - only wish we had more time.
We had a wonderful Wisconsin Business Owners luncheon today. Brigadier General Kerry Denson spoke - he had guests entranced. I met some new people - and Santa joined us...just a great day!
Yup.. which is why I opened a thread about missing ads and relevancy in Private Support a day or two ago.
If you'll notice, when ads do display, they have rarely been 100% relevant to the content. If the ads aren't relevant, no one is going to click on an ad for Wisconsin drywall while reading a thread about aquarium supplies. Still looking into the issues..

Nice to meet some of the members, eh? How appropriate that you get to meet Santa!
Glad to hear things went well.

Morning! Been up since 1:30 am or so because I couldn't sleep. I do part-time maintenance work here at the Complex so did that and got it out of the way.
Then decided to reformat my C: drive. Haven't reinstalled anything except XP SP2, my modem and video card drivers, and my toolbars so will reinstall the rest of my apps sometime today.. hopefully the computer will behave a bit better.
Good morning! A brisk humid sticky 40 degrees in NW FL right now, I am hunkered down under my electric blanket with my thermos of coffee & a warm dog waiting for a pretty sunrise before I head out to walk dogs this AM. Absolutely nothing to complain about after looking at the radar map for Wisconsin!!! Yikes!
I am HOPING for a pretty sunrise, but it's pretty cloudy....there are some noisy Pelicans out there already fighting over fish I think.......or maybe they are just fighting over a woman.
Breakfast is in the oven.....caramel sticky buns, can someone get those for me please?
I hope ya'll have a great morning!
STAY WARM!

I would rather move to a tropical island right now, where my friends are parrots and monkeys.
Think I would have to pick the tropical island rather than the cold and unfriendly wolves knocking at my door.

I know I said this in another post but it does make me upset to know that our color handheld t.v. and smaller portable T.V. for the camper is worthless now. I can't believe that something is not being done to save these from being as dave puts it, "worthless paperweights".
At a time like this with so many people losing their jobs, or taking pay cuts, I would think one of the ways to cut costs would be to let the expensive cable bill go for awhile. But now they are forcing this new digital service on they leave everyone no choice but to suck it up and pay yet another bill or go without the t.v. at all.
Maybe everyone should go back to sitting around the radio at night and listening to that for entertainment.
Then decided to reformat my C: drive. Haven't reinstalled anything except XP SP2, my modem and video card drivers, and my toolbars so will reinstall the rest of my apps sometime today.. hopefully the computer will behave a bit better.
See you all later!
IS your SP2 working? Kid could not get mine to operate proper and he had to upgrade me to SP3. It didn't force you to upgrade?
The only problem I'm still having is my bubbler tool bar keeps getting removed. I have not put it back since it was removed yesterday.
I'll take care of those caramel sticky buns, thank you. Oh, did you all want some? 'Spose I can share...
Mr. Grumpy Dave--hope your installs are flawless and trouble free and your alter ego, Mr. Happy Dave, makes an appearance.
It's the sweat shop for me today. Sewing up a few Christmas presents for the FIL--flannel lined cordroy sweats; 3 pairs, so it's like making 6 by the time I make the lining. Should be able to finish them up today; pattern's done and fabric is washed and ironed. Today is a good day for sewing; too cold to do much else. Brrrrrrr.
