I just got back from Stinky Cheese Day in little Milford. They had all kinds of cheese trays and things to put all your cheeses on. I ate so much cheese that I don't want to look at it for a while. That aged brick was so nasty that I think the inside of a shoe tastes better. The beer kaese was a bit to sharp for me. It had a bitter sharpness to it. Most of the others were good tasting cheeses. I even had blueberry and cranberry cheeses. I like the blueberry since it was with a sharp white cheddar I'm guessing. Had some chocolate cheese and I still think it's just fudge, not cheese. They also had a few different cheese spreads with lobster or crabmeat in them. Those were good on the mini rye breads.
All this food was free. Probably kind of like a customer appreciation day and a way to get people out to the bar that otherwise wouldn't be there on a Sat. afternoon.
PK, I just made a little phone call before and Bob's on Sheridan is still in business. Last time I tried the other phone no. and this time I tried the other number. They must have got a new number. Glad I called to find out their hours though. Only open for breakfast and lunch. I see a road trip in my near future.
You went to the bar last night and you're sore. You have to quit getting into bar fights and making arm wrestling bets.
Nope...no bar fights, just sore from cleaning my BFF's house yesterday.
I've never gotten into the arm wrestling thing. Does anyone even do that anymore? Years ago my youngest sister used to participate in wrist wrestling events at different bars and won lots of trophies in the feather weight division.

Met some trucker from Illinois today, walked with him awhile. Says people from Illinois call Wisconsin "Illinois' Playground".. says everybody from Illinois heads to Wisconsin every Friday night..
I always said that Wisconsin is Illinois' vacation land. They do invade our state a lot in the summer. I wonder why they don't go east or west ever? Some nice scenery those directions. Depending on where you go.
I'm stuffed. We just got back from having a stuffed pizza. I bet Cindy would be picking both of the crusts off this one. It was yummy, but I couldn't eat much of the big thing. One piece is a meal.

Great to hear this. I drove past there the other day and it looked closed up but it was mid afternoon so they must have been done for the day.
Please be warned that it is a strange little place where matching tablecloths, decent chairs etc. are not important there. If I recall your skillet comes in an actual old fry pan or something that was kinda strange when I saw it. lol
But it's the only place around that I know of that you can get wild boar (tastes like ham), or buffalo, bear, etc. It depends on what they happen to have. I think you can order from them as well.
Cashing in my change jar.. I've only got about $12-$13 but it will come in handy.. I don't get paid for almost another 3 weeks. Good thing the cupboards are stocked and I've got ferret food and plenty of toilet paper..
Be nice to win a few dollars on the MegaMillions or PowerBall..
I second that!
Just curious, did u get stuck with the higher rent or did they adjust that for u right away cuz she moved out?

Years ago we went up north past Tomahawk on a vacation. I felt that the people up there was rather rude at the various tourist places we stopped at. Not very friendly at all. I was later told that they knew we were from Illinois and no one likes all the 'invaders'. I remember getting really angry since we actually were living here in Kenosha at the time but I guess since that is on the state line it was to close to Illinois to count as real 'Wisconsin' folk.
I wanted to tell them if all the so called invaders from southern WI and Illinois stopped coming to their 'tourist' places they would be out of business and crying in no time. We bring money to the North.
As far as going east, we would run into the lake. lol Of course we could go down and around Chicago and go over to Lower Michigan, or over to Missouri or Indiana, but it gets hot down there in the summer. Lower Illinois is really quite boring to drive through too. Also it's so fast paced in the Chicago area that they look upon 'up north' as a place to relax and get away from all the traffic.
I also think with Wisconsin Dells as such an attraction people started to see the real beauty of Wisconsin and wanted to explore even more. Let's face it we have a beautiful state.

LOL funny, When i came to stay with the bff in Illinois a while back we asked some people in a bar where the fun was & they said across the state line in WI lol Now i been living here in IL the past 2 weeks & went to WI both Friday nights. I live 20 miles from the state line & jut past the state line there is a hip hop club that is hopping. Kinda funny, since we go there & it seems everyone @ that club is from the town i live in now, here in IL.

From what i am noticing it's the IL people who live closer to the WI state line who go there for a good time... those who i have spoke to on online forums & such, who live closer to IN, go there. It's because IL sucks honestly, I've always known that, but I love my bff & happy to be close to her. Also, IL has an 8% state tax on everything, which doesnt really mean much, since everything cost more in WI.
Illinois offers a bunch of things in Chicago if you don't mind driving there. I won't drive in Chicago so I always have to go with someone. Otherwise you have maybe Galena if you like shopping. We went there and didn't last long before we took off and went across the state line to Iowa.
If you live in Zion like I did you most likely jump the border to come to the Kenosha area.
Around the Antioch area is rather nice but then if I am out there I always find myself back across the border over by Burlington. lol
Actually I always thought that Wisconsin business and tourist attractions should appreciate the fact that Illinois residents like to come up here to shop, vacation, buy houses etc rather than be upset about it all the time.
Let's face it, you can make better wages around the Chicago area and then they choose to bring the money up here to Wisconsin, what's not to like?
I was in Madison all day today, went to finish up & turn the apartment over to the landlord. Drove away from that suburb smiling cuz i really disliked it, however I do kinda miss Madison, not sure why.
I spoke to the ex a few nights ago, he lives in Madison & didn't know i had moved to IL. He called (Tuesday) to ask me out to dinner & i told him i now live in IL... he is the one who i thought was "the one" , but he wanted marriage & I didn't. Well anyway, I told him i'd be in town & he cooked me lunch
I spent the afternoon with him, it was a lot of fun, we took a drive & just laughed a lot & talked about life. He is wanting me to consider coming back to WI, says without the marriage push, he wants me back, Wants me to live with him & travel with him, says i wouldn't need to work unless i want to. I am not considering it. Though i do miss him & care about him immensely, I don't think we are on the same page on where this would be headed, if i took him up on his offer to return.
He wants to start coming to IL to spend weekends with me, when the Military doesn't have him traveling, but i don't want that either... I think i really hurt him more by stopping by today & now i feel like crap for it.

I agree...
What's with the high state tax, yet having a million toll booths when you drive through IL?? I have always wondered about that
Sore from cleaning? What were you doing? No beating on the vacuum!
I was sore from being on my feet all day on hard wood floors. I'm more used to sitting at my desk or at least alternating between sitting and standing. I'm just not used to doing only one of them all day.

We greatly appreciate Illinois people who have vacation homes in Wisconsin. They make up about half of our business every year!
Hm, and Misty stopped by today to "return something" which ended up with us talking.. we kind of reconciled tho not sure if we'll be moving back in together at this point or not. I know.. I know.
Sometimes you just have to take a chance on Love, eh?

I'm supposed to sign the amended lease Monday which will drop my rent $60 a month but still be 3x what it was before she signed the lease. I had to go back on the list for renatl assistance, which could take 4 months or more. Even then, someone who needs it more may get it first. I was paying $103 a month, will now pay $310. It's gonna be hard to make ends meet.
