My Father = 1/4 Norwegian/1/4 Swedish (his father was 1/2 & 1/2)
and 1/4 French 1/4 Italian (his mom was 1/2 & 1/2) But he acted and looked very Italian.
My younger kids I think have a smid of Irish from their father.
My youngest grandson's mom I think is Italian and Irish so he would have the most in him from our family.
My husband's gr. grandfather on one side was 100 % Irish (McKittrick) and his other gr. grandfather was 100% Czech. That is why he is so stubborn and set in his ways! A lot of people think he's Italian because of his dark hair and dark skin from working outside.
I'm Scottish, Irish, English, Welsh, and French.. distantly related (by repute) to Robert the Bruce (you may have heard of him as a character in the movie Braveheart)..

So how many of you here are part Irish? My gr-gr-grandfather came here from Ireland in the early 1840's. I'm not sure what percent Irish that makes me but I am proud of my heritage.
Wow...that ferret is much bigger than I thought they were! Guess that's why the cage is so big too huh? It looks a little bit like a weasel but it's still cute.

That's cool Dave! I had ancestors from almost all of the European countries...to many to list once you go back to my royal ancestry. They all seemed to marry into other royal families or to important people from other countries and even at times to their own relatives. I don't know if I have any ancestors from any of the countries in Asia or South America although I did have some from Australia.
So, I don't know exactly what I would be considered. I guess you could say I'm like Heinz...57 varieties. LOL
So...even though St. Patty's day isn't quite over yet, I decided to put out all of my Easter decorations today. After all Easter is only 2 1/2 weeks away right?
I still have to go outside and find a small tree to cut down and put in the front yard. I usually decorate it with plastic Easter eggs. In the past, my elderly neighbor across the street has gotten some huge plastic eggs and hung one on my tree just to see how long it would be before I noticed it was there. He likes to play jokes on us but that's okay because that's how I've gotten some of my nice yard decorations and flowers over the years. They just appeared suddenly in the yard!
Do you do Easter egg hunts? ... we used to do them a lot!

It always depends on how many little kids are going to be around for Easter. Last year there were mostly babies and only one toddler, but this year there will be three or more big enough so they can run around and look for the eggs. It's always fun to watch them get so excited when they find one!
When my nieces were little, we used to put candy in some eggs and paper money in the others. There was always one egg with a 20 dollar bill in it and all of the girls ended up with at least ten dollars. We have learned to count how many eggs we hide though because some weren't found until the next year a couple of times!

When the kids were little the Easter Bunny would come and scatter a ton of Easter Eggs all over the back yard. They had so much fun running all over looking for them.
Now we have young grand kids that we can pass the fun of Easter Egg hunts on too.

wow, you guys all know so much about your backgrounds. I only know that I'm mostly German with the rest who knows? Ask my mom and I get the same answer. She doesn't know much about the ancestors either. One of these days I'd like to do a family tree, but I'm only interested in going back as far as finding out when my ancestors came over here. Not much interested in what they did in Europe. At least I know my grandparents were born here in Wis. so I know I'll have to dig farther. I'm more interested in my dad's side of the family because of the family name and seeing if I'm related to certain people. My mom's name isn't any common name that's why I'm not as interested there.
I don't know if I ever got to do an easter egg hunt as a kid. If I did I was too little to remember it. My mom probably didn't have time to take us if she was working. My parents used to make us work for our easter candy though. Most kids just have to look for a basket, but we had to look for every piece or package of candy that was hid individually. We got a lot of candy too. We were handed a big empty bowl to fill and then started looking all over the house. Probably kept us entertained for at least a half hour or an hour. I wonder if any candy ever turned up 3 months later hiding behind the couch or chair.
Nope, never found him.. no idea what happened there..
I've been trying to work things out with Misty the last couple days and it seems we just keep getting further apart.. don't think it's going to happen but we'll see.

Hope this one stays put with you and doesn't get dragged anywhere else.
I think I need to learn to check my spice cupboard a little closer before I go shopping. I have 3 jars of ginger, 2 dill weed, 2 paprika, 2 cream of tartar and 2 big jars of chicken bouillon. I even had to open all three jars of ginger just to make sure I didn't forget any.

Guess I found out that you can't go too many days without exercising those arms. I'm sure feeling it after I went downstairs to the weight machine. I've been busy walking and biking the last few days and didn't give my upper body enough attention. I'll try not to let that happen again which is very easy in summer.
Not sure how much I will be around until I figure out what is wrong with my computer (again). Last night it was running really slow so I decided to restart it since it hasn't been off for a day or so.
Anyways, when it came back on the monitor stayed black but kept flashing only on one side a bit of light but wouldn't do anything else. It did this for only a few minutes and then it went black. Thought maybe the cord wasn't plugged in correctly or came loose somehow but cords all seem OK. Hope it's just my monitor and not the computer. Can't really tell if something is wrong with the computer itself if I can't see anything on the monitor.
So I stopped by my daughters just now to check emails etc. Will be doing this until I get a new monitor or decide what is wrong with this old one. Any ideas??

What another gorgeous day out again! I even got my hubby to put a new screen in a window on the stairway so the cats can sit there and look out now. The old one had gotten a hole in it when the grandson pushed on it and I didn't want the cats to push it and make the hole big enough to get out!
