I found out today from a girl I went to high school with that another class mate is dying from cancer. She is currently in Hospice care in Texas and her kidneys are shutting down so it will just be a matter of days now. She wants to be buried in Wisconsin so we will probably go to her funeral.
I also heard on the radio today that another woman I used to work with several years ago died unexpectedly. She was only four years older than me and I just saw her a couple weeks ago at Wal Mart! I had heard on the scanner last week that she had fallen outside her home and I'm thinking now that she must have been seriously hurt.
That will make four funerals in a month! I sure hope there won't be anymore anytime soon!

wow & so young, that's sad... sorry to hear that hun.
Wow...you all have been awfully quiet here today! Has the site been down all day? Or is everyone just mad at me??
Nope. Not allowed to surf the internet at work. They aren't paying me to goof off and I sure don't want to risk it. The second I'd go look at something online, that would be about the time someone would sneak up behind me and catch me.

It sure was another beautiful weather day again with a high of 62 here. It's supposed to be close to 70 by Thursday!
You and PK live for the weather reports, don't you?

I guess he doesn't like to use our slow dial up here at home.
That would drive me nuts. I can't even stand it when the cable is slow and that's probably fast compared to dial up. Didn't know anyone used dial up anymore.

Well, I just received an email saying that my former classmate passed away this afternoon. At least she won't have to suffer from the cancer any longer I guess. She was the first one from our class to pass away...
There are plenty of places out my way where the only options are dial-up or satellite (expensive!).. towns like Jasper, Sarcoxie, etc. and even people just outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma don't have broadband yet.. of course, many don't even own computers out this way (some even view computers as tools of the Devil, no joke!).. fast broadband isn't enough.. people need to be educated in using computers and taught not to fear them. Same thing went on when telephones were first introduced.
One of the first towns Cindy (my old GF) and I looked into moving to, we passed up because there was only dial-up.
I can recall in the old days of 300baud dial-up, the letters would literally come on the screen a letter at a time.. a picture download could take 15 minutes or more.

I thought I was better.. had a day there where I felt fine.. and now I'm pretty much right back where I started. Vomited when I woke up this morning. Getting ready to tell the doctor to pull the plug. I have more sick days than not.
No plans to go anywhere today, I tell ya.. guy is bringing the new ferret over this afternoon and that's it. (His name is Weasel)

Sorry to hear that Cindy. That's really amazing that at your ages this is the first person to go. I've lost a number of classmates over the years, some shortly after high school and even a couple while I was in school.

I wouldn't trust one outside and there's just no room inside.. apartment is too small.
No basement storage? No laundry room where they will let you keep it?
Must not be fun to live in an apartment complex. I would think they would make room for people's bikes.
OK, tacky I'm sure but how about a couple of hooks in the corner of your bedroom to hang it? lol OK, I was trying at least.

Thanks Blue.
I've only been out of school for about 33 years and there were only 32 people in our graduating class. There may have been others that have passed, but I think I would probably have heard about it since the majority of those I graduated with still live in this area.
