I stayed with a family once where the teen girls would blare their CD players on repeat all night.. I need my quiet to sleep.

Tonight's important TV show is Survivor followed by Kitchen Nightmares.... if I make it to the end of Kitchen Nightmares it will be a miracle. TV = sleep to me!

Oh, that would drive me nuts. I need it to be perfectly quiet when I sleep. I can hear the littlest sound and it will keep me awake. Glad I don't have your electric bill. I'm one of those that turns off any unused lights or appliances. That's the way we were raised and got yelled at for leaving lights on in a room we weren't in. I was also raised to turn down the heat at night or when we left the house. I still do that and it saves a lot of money on bills. I also need it very dark in a room to sleep. Even in the winter I can tell when it snows outside because the bedroom seems a little brighter.
Could you put the TV on a timer to turn it off after a certain amount of time? Surely once you fall asleep you wouldn't even notice it off. Yeah, I like to save electricity. I'll send my parents over to scold you.
Yes, we had robins here last week. I should get my bird feeder filled and put outside today.
I just came in from strolling around my very wet yard and was pleased to discover that my tulips are up a couple inches and the tiger lilies are up about three inches. Even the ferns next to the front of the house are starting to pop up a little! I do believe that Spring is officially here...in my yard anyhow!
I have not walked out back yet to see if anything is coming up. I will have to now that I read your post. It would be wonderful to see plants starting to pop their heads out of the ground. I have noticed today that our grass especially in the front yard is actually turning green! When did all this happen? Seems as if Spring is really showing up. Yeah!

it was so foggy in most places that we could hardly see more than a foot or two in front of my van!
Just heard on the news that the fog in Milwaukee last night was the worse they have seen in many years. Tonight it started getting terrible again and suddenly it just went away. They predict it will be back again later tonight.
I remember one time years back when we were trying to drive from the store home and could barely see the front of the car. I will never forget how scary it was since I was a young driver and simply could not see the road. The friend that was with me actually had to roll her window down and help guide me by watching the white line to make sure I didn't go over it. Hate driving in fog.

lol We have so many Walgreen's that I don't even know how many we have in Kenosha and yet they just built a new one on the South side. If that's not bad enough CVS is now moving in around here. Just how many drug stores does a city need? Apparently they are all doing well so guess something is working. ...

I mentioned the other day that I saw some robins. Don't you read my posts?
Well... now that you figured it out guess I will tell you that, no, I actually just skip all your posts. ...
NOT!!
LOL just kidding!
Really tho, I do try to read all the posts but sometimes like tonight when I go to watch something on T.V. and come back a few hours later you people just chat up a storm and I may miss something. lol But I really am surprised that I missed or maybe read it and forgot that you mentioned Robins.
Anyways, I would love it if someone can post pictures of the robins to make it feel like Spring on here.

I have no problem if a T.V. is on as long as it is soft and not blasting loud. I really could care less if a light is on either. But I do turn it off just because I know I should. When I finally get around to going to bed and falling asleep I am out and it's really hard to wake me up unless it's a weird noise that shouldn't be happening then I will wake up. But the droning of a t.v. or a distant radio, dog barking down the street...doesn't bother me at all.

I haven't walked around the yard yet either, but doesn't look very promising with the rain. I'll wait a bit so I don't get muddy shoes. I don't have too much for spring bulbs, because about the only thing the rabbits don't eat are daffodils. Those are poisonous to eat I think. What else is poisonous or inedible to animals? I want to plant that in my year. I heard monkshood is poisonous. Maybe I'll plant that. Nightshade? I should plant that.

Up until my husband got diabetes and lost 35 pounds last fall I had to sleep with the CD player on in the bedroom every night in order to fall asleep. The music helped to drown out his terribly loud snoring! I played a CD of Air Supply and would fall asleep around the third song! Since he lost weight, he doesn't snore as loud now so I don't have to use the music to fall asleep anymore. I did try it again recently and it actually kept me awake!
As far as tvs go, we have four here. The one in the living room is the only one hooked to cable right now. The one in my son's room is only used for playing video games occasionally since he's off at college plus he bought a smaller tv for his dorm room but didn't take it there this semester so it's sitting in a box in the basement. The one in our bedroom quit working a few months ago which I'm glad about since my hubby would turn it on every night and then fall asleep. I never liked having a tv in the bedroom anyhow and if I have my way, we won't replace that one either. Now if we watch tv, we do it together...so much nicer.
Well it sounds like it won't be to much longer and you will then be an official 'Illinois' resident.
Yep, I was born in IL, so it was bound to happen eventually i spose lol

No rest for the wicked! Or is that 'no rest for the sexy'... yeah i like that one better!
We are expecting lots of rain Saturday, looks like the truck wont be there until Sunday now, then start the new job on Monday

Thanks... I wont vanish, my personal time might just be less for a while, but i will still be around.
Latina, sounds like you have a brutal weekend lined up for yourself. But after this weekend and next weekend, you can concentrate on getting settled into your new life. That's something to look forward to, right?
I have to keep telling myself that in the end this frustration (the move) will have all been worth it. I just never had to do it all on my own before, always had my kids to help. Doing it alone has caused me to throw away most of my stuff... Next time i do this, i want it to be that much less to move.
Sigh I sort of forgot why I liked Spencers as a teen and went in there with my 16 yr old daughter last week. I dont know who blushed more, me or her!
Finally I said ~ I'll wait for you out in the mall, and she's like No, that's ok I"m ready to leave....LOL
Now if she was with her friends she'd still be in there!
I can spend hours in spencers & buy nothing, but chances are that i will buy something before i leave there. I almost feel you should have to be 18+ to shop there, since they sell 'toys' & paraphernalia & such, but it's a place that attracts teens more so than anything.
Then again, I am naughty & that's a naughty girls haven right there.

The fog was that bad on Wednesday evening in Madison. I drove to the store & could not even see the lights of the cars ahead until i was practically up against them, that was dangerous to be driving in. I drove down E.wash (business district) and could not see lights, building, signs etc. Cars were driving 5 mph all over the place.
Last night i left home at around 6pm, the fog was bad, but patchy all the way here (IL). My normal 1.5 hour drive took just over 2 hrs.
Bright and sunny out here right now. Looks as if the fog is gone. Yeah, driving in fog is not an enjoyable thing to do. I find it's like being in some weird twilight zone when it's a dense fog out. I really meant to go over to the large cemetery and take some eerie pictures but didn't' get to fit it in. Maybe next time.

I was born in Illinois too and lived there up until about 15 years ago. I wonder if I will ever wander back that way.... Between the two states I prefer Wisconsin hands down.

It used to be that we couldn't go to West Towne Mall without checking at Spencers to see what new stuff they had. I bought lots of dragon things there for my son when he was in middle school...it was a phase he was going through at the time. It was also kind of fun to check out the "naughty" stuff while there too.
They closed the store at West Towne a few years back and it's too far to drive to the East side so we haven't been to a Spencers for awhile now.
Morning everyone, it's Friday.
We had fog last night, this morning it raining. Maybe more of the snow will melt.
It's time to get the Yard Sales going, I need to find something to buy
Have a great day all.
What snow? We haven't had any here for several days now.
I am going to have my son help me get the patio furniture out of the storage shed while he's home on spring break this week. I was out on the patio earlier sitting on the steps for awhile. I LOVE Spring!

Try Labelle Cemetery. After all the ghost stories you should feel nice and safe there.

There's still some snow hanging around yet here. You need to go drive around and you'll see what I mean. Especially in areas where the sun doesn't shine on it all day long.
So...what are you having for supper tonight? I went grocery shopping today and I have no idea what to make. Maybe I will send my hubby to get some take out fish from the restaurant. I don't feel like cooking tonight.
wow...I am way behind reading everyone's posts! Latina? Have a SMOOTH MOVE!
I hope that everyone has a great weekend, sounds like (after the fog) SPRING is in the air finally, huh?
Here too.
And Spring BREAK is in full force as well (grrrr).....I say that because we are having bad bad BAD rip tides and the red flags are flying (possible double reds soon) which means STAY OUT OF THE GULF! But.....visitors do not always follow the rules, so there have been numerous rescues already, daily, if not hourly. No drownings, yet. The excuses?
"I'm here on Spring Break and spent a lot on money to be here and I WILL get into the water and YOU can't stop me!"
Here we go.........
They actually did finally pass a law this year that the lifeguards CAN notify police to ARREST people when the double red flags are flying. Our counties spend a LOT of taxpayer dollars saving people from themselves around here.
2 girls, 18 yrs old sat on a cheap Walmart "raft" sunbathing and drinking and floated out to sea yesterday. (duh) The current was strong and out they went, into major shark territory. 5 hours of rescue attempts and they finally got them in. Their main concern? They were pi$$ed off that the recue team made them ditch the raft as it couldn't be pulled safely behind them on the rescue jet skiis.
OK, done ranting now......time to get my head in the right frame of mind for a few months of this. =D
A BEAUTIFUL DAY WALKING DOGS! And I have TWO WHOLE DAYS OFF! I can't believe it.
So............I'll stop back next week, I really need to clean my house and get yard work done and hopefully either get into my kayak and/or go to the beach.
Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!
