My, you people were chatty today. I didn't see much food talk and I was hungry too.
Tried a new recipe for supper tonight. We stuffed acorn squash with Italian sausage, cracker crumbs, shredded zucchini, tomato sauce and some parmesan cheese. It turned out pretty good. I told my husband that if parents made veggie recipes like this, so many kids wouldn't hate veggies. I got a kick out of putting a summer squash inside a winter squash. Of course I messed with the recipe a bit. It called for hamburger and I used Italian sausage. It didn't call for cheese, but I used it anyway. I used spaghetti sauce instead of the ketchup it called for. Then I had this idea that next time I need to put bacon in it or maybe some bbq sauce. Keeping it healthy lol.
I stopped at Brennan's on the way home. Only been in there once and that was years ago. Lots and lots of samples of fruit, chips, dips and cheese. They are expensive, but I can see just going there for free samples. I bought some Grapples...look like apples and taste like grapes. I also bought some big ginger cookies. Then after I bought my stuff I saw this fat Elvis dessert. Next time I'll have to get that one. I tried some weird fruits there like lemon plums and some sort of red plum, and a frog skin melon.
So where is everyone this morning? No breakfast? No good mornings from anyone?
Well, I'm sitting here eating a muffin and drinking a Star Bucks Iced Green Tea that my daughter stopped by and gave me. I am so not a coffee drinker but Star Bucks has a great Iced Green Tea Sweetened.
Looks like another really nice day out today. It hit 50 yesterday and it's not much below that right now.
I am sooo looking for Robins! I think I hear them but so far they have not shown themselves. It is not truly early Spring until I see a Robin. Anyone see a Robin in their yard yet?

I been up since 6am packing & getting a load ready for a trip to IL this evening. I need to be at the office (new job in IL) at 7am tomorrow. I don't start work until Monday, however i will be setting up my office, pc passwords & such, tomorrow. Then in the afternoon i return to Madison to get the last load ready for the truck to come take it all on Saturday morning.
Once it's all gone i will be staying in IL, so my last night in WI will be Friday night. However, i will return the following weekend, to clean the place up. This move has become a lot of work & expense... I can not wait for it to be over!
Taking a break from it all now & meeting a friend for lunch.. I hope you all have a wonderful day

Good afternoon!
Yes, we had robins here last week. I should get my bird feeder filled and put outside today.
I just came in from strolling around my very wet yard and was pleased to discover that my tulips are up a couple inches and the tiger lilies are up about three inches. Even the ferns next to the front of the house are starting to pop up a little! I do believe that Spring is officially here...in my yard anyhow!

I'm so glad for you Latina! I'm sure you will be happier at your new job and place...especially since you will be able to see your BFF more often now. I hope the remainder of the move goes smoothly for you and you find some time to rest before you start your new job on Monday.
Latina, sounds like you have a brutal weekend lined up for yourself. But after this weekend and next weekend, you can concentrate on getting settled into your new life. That's something to look forward to, right?
What a gorgeous day out! It's so nice to have the windows and doors opened up again!
I spent most of the afternoon cleaning off my three season porch so we can use it again. I still had some Christmas lights on the inside windows to take down. Now I have my ferns and flower baskets (fake ones) hanging up. Later I will get out my Easter decorations, which are mostly bunnies, and put them up out there too. I love just sitting out there on the glider reading or having lunch at the little bistro table in the corner when the weather is nice. The cats really enjoy it too!
Okay, so we were on our way home from my son's Chamber Choir concert at UW-Platteville last night and it was so foggy in most places that we could hardly see more than a foot or two in front of my van! There were times I was only able to go 20 to 30 mph because you just couldn't see anything! So, of course, there were two stupid drivers who decided to pass me in that fog! I couldn't believe they were that dumb! There was no way they could know if another car was coming! What idiots! The drive home that should have only taken us an hour took an hour and a half due to lack of visibility. I didn't surprise me when I heard on the radio today that there were several accidents last night!
Reminds me of the time I "ran away" from home when we were living in Florida.. my mom had to drive to pick me up at the Trooper station in Boca Raton and there was so much fog (I was told), her friend had to walk by the car at some points to make sure they were still on the road..

We are about to get yet another new Piggly Wiggly here soon. That will make 3 Piggly Wiggly's in our City. How many does one city need? I like shopping at a Piggly store but can't see why we are getting another one. ...
I read somewhere on the Internet this morning that a woman in Florida caused an accident since she was trying to shave her public area and drive. Shaving down there while driving?? LOL
Apparently he ex husband was holding the wheel while she was getting ready to 'meet' her boyfriend. (ex husband? boyfriend?) lol Anyways, she ran into the back of a truck with two other women in it.
It went on to say the day before she had just lost her driving privileges for 5 years for driving and drinking.
We live in a crazy world.
oh...has anyone seen Toes lately? lol Hope it wasn't her. LOL LOL (just kidding!)
The kids probably left a door open and out he went. Even he wanted to escape the kids.
If he was still in the apartment I would think he would have turned up by now. They do need to eat at some point.
Lost ferret?? I know of a few ferrets who have vanished for weeks and found in their home. Just good hiders. Able to find crumbs and things to eat. One ferret went mouse hunting and that's how it survived so long.
Leave out a plate of soft/canned kitty food. I know ~ no no for ferrets, BUT if it's still around (and not stuck in a wall or something) it will come out and eat it....then you know 100% it's still there.
If it crawled up in a hole or up into a cabnet it might be stuck and not know how to get out. Listen for scratching.....
All else fails ~ set a trap/have a heart trap with yummy food in it.

I mentioned the other day that I saw some robins. Don't you read my posts?
I've also seen a number of cranes and a heron. The grackles are back claiming their spots in our back yard. They sure don't like anyone near their nests when they have one. I haven't seen our purple finches yet claiming the same spruce tree. Maybe they are out there, but I'm not around in the day to see them. As far as I know finches don't fly south though.
Speaking of naughty, does anyone shop Spencers? They have (or had last i went there) this really cool Corona bubbler & that's what it was called, i believe. It actually works... alt to a keg i suppose... Though i seldom drink, I want one.
Sigh I sort of forgot why I liked Spencers as a teen and went in there with my 16 yr old daughter last week. I dont know who blushed more, me or her!
Finally I said ~ I'll wait for you out in the mall, and she's like No, that's ok I"m ready to leave....LOL
Now if she was with her friends she'd still be in there!
None of us can sleep with out a TV in the backround. I grew up that way.
Now my kids have grown up that way. I need a TV on in order to sleep.
Tonight's important TV show is Survivor followed by Kitchen Nightmares.... if I make it to the end of Kitchen Nightmares it will be a miracle. TV = sleep to me!
Yeah, I'm hoping he shows up.. I know how good they are at getting into things too.. he used to crawl under the nightstand, get in the top drawer from underneath and push it open to get on top.. so he could literally be anywhere.
The only problem with your suggestion is they have two (small) dogs and several cats so any food wouldn't last long. It was his first night in a totally new environment and he apparently didn't like it much.
I really, really hope he shows up alive.. Misty is kicking herself for not leaving him with me as I asked.
