my husband used to punch stuff. I few floppy disks got messes up a few doors with holes, but thankfully he no longer does.. now he goes for walks.... I somehow never get myself that worked up.. or I do but keep it all in! Not sure which is better actually!
Sorry to hear about the suicide. It must be devastating. Cannot imagine.
Well my day was spent in the kitchen all day apart from taking my older daughter to her first Hip Hop dance, which ended up in registering her for another dance class and somehow my getting enrolled in Zumba which I will start next week. How did this happen?
Had guest over for dinner. Tomorrow morning have much more to cook for the game but Chocolate mousse is done, fruit dipped in chocolate done, cookies sunken in coffee cake done, gumbo closer to done, spicy gizzards done. Jalapenos stuffed with crab cream and wrapped in bacon done... yet stil have so much more to do tomorrow!
I don't think we will be watching the Super Bowl at our house today. The guys are working and my hubby really isn't in to football very much anyway.
Is it snowing in your area yet? We've been getting flurries here and the weather man says we may get up to 8 inches of snow by Tuesday. At least it's not 30 inches like Washington DC got! I am so glad that storm missed us! Yikes!
As far as I am concerned the only thing that is good about Super Bowl is the half time show. I just looked it up just now and saw that The Who will be playing. OK, I grant you they were great back in the day but couldn't they get someone a bit more modern? I like their music but again we will have elderly guys jumping around trying to bring back the past.
Well that is just my feelings but I am not going to rush to watch the half time show.
I'm glad I'm not the only one not into the Super Bowl. Now I don't feel so alone. I didn't even know until yesterday what other team was playing the Saints. Shows you how much I pay attention to sports.
I agree someone more modern to perform would have been better for this type of event. The younger viewers will be bored and probably running to the fridge during half time. You don't even need to watch the game just to see the commercials or entertainment. It will all be online tomorrow on youtube or wherever. That's the nice thing about the internet.
Today we're off to find some place to eat for my husband's birthday. I told him he is no longer allowed to get older anymore. Last night we ate at Blue Moon Diner in Lake Mills and they came out to sing happy birthday. They gave him a tortilla wrapped cheesecake rolled in a cinnamon mixture and deep fried. It was very good. Then we went to see a band in Madison. My husband knows the singer. They are a really good band out of Milwaukee. I got my fill of big hair '80s music last night and my leg was hurting from dancing. I think I strained something on the exercise machine the other day. Didn't notice until I sat down at the end of the night. (or should I say morning since it was 2 am)
Today is really my husband's birthday, not yesterday, but why no celebrate for a couple of days, right? Besides, he needs another free dessert lol.

LOL!!!! Gee.....guess who my Sig-other works for right now? (for the past 3 tours?)
Let's just say, old farts or not, my eyes will be on the halftime show 100% 2nite!
In a somewhat indirect way, trickled down through the ranks, The WHO paid for my yard guy this month.....tee hee hee. The WHO helps pays the bills, gotta love it right now.
In all seriousness though, the reason they lean towards the older bands is to appeal to a broader base (Springstein/McCartney/etc) The baby boomer generation is larger and we're still alive.
Probs with the Justin T/J. Jackson incident years back have made them shy away from unpredictable artists. Prince was even pushing the envelope for them, and he's not all that unpredictable anymore.
Expect to hear a good set, really! I heard sound-check.
Rog still has some voice issues, had lots of rest though, and Pete has tinnitus.....heck, we're ALL gettin old (well some of us), but I still think it's gonna rock.
But of course, I'm biased.
I opted out of Gumbo today....got distracted, no time, so I made chili instead, plain ol' bring chili. (well, not really, it's quite tingly!)
WHO DAT??? GEAUX SAINTS!!!
Ya'll have fun, big game or not........

Well Toes, sounds like you are going to have a good time tonight. Good food, good music, and football.
Don't get me wrong I was a big Who fan years back and I'm sure their music is still good. It's just they aren't enough to make me rush to watch the Super Bowl on T.V. Paul McCartney did when he was on a few years back though.
Anyways, to show how much I don't know about Super Bowl...(that could be a topic, How Much DON'T You Know About Super Bowl) lol Anyways, I had to look up who was playing and then I had to look to see what states the teams were from.
But I do know Green Bay Packers are from WISCONSIN!

LOL, I DID enjoy McCartney & Springsteen too. WHO, well, kind of sick of hearing them all the time
But Townshend is still fun to watch.

I'm one of those that thinks McCartney should have quit with the Beatles. I like the Beatles, but I don't like Wings at all. Not saying he should have quit music, but maybe kept the sound he had with the Beatles or that quality. But my '70s musical guilty pleasure is old Styx. Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, Suite Madame Blue and all that. I saw Styx at one of the county fairs a few years ago and Tommy Shaw still looking good. There you go. Styx for the Super Bowl halftime.
There is a band from Milwaukee called Light Up that is a Styx tribute band that sounds just like Styx. Every song is spot on. One of the members of Styx saw them a few years ago and said, "They sound better than we do." The band attracts quite a crowd and they even played at our city festival one year and that's the biggest turnout I've seen for that festival in the 20 years that they've had it. Light Up is more of a festival and big church picnic band in the summers around the Milwaukee area. They don't often do shows at the bars except maybe once or twice a year.
What site do you use again? I know you talked about it last year, but I forgot.

I went to them many yrs ago, several times & besides their prices being ridiculous, I felt as if I had to tell them what credits i thought i should get before they would add them. kinda like having to double check their work, even though i wasn't all that knowledgeable on doing taxes back then.
Surprisingly enough, i compared it to a couple others & the h&r block free tax prep site is by far better. You do your own taxes on the electronic forms (same forms as if you did paper), it checks for errors.
I have heard that Turbo tax is also easy.
For state i just use the WI Dept of revenue site. On both you can electronically file for free, i usually have mine direct deposited within days.

I couldn't care less about football or any sport for that matter, but I been to some great superbowl parties way back in the day

Thanks for the info. Turbo is free for one and $18 for the other. I forget which one you pay for. Still cheaper than an accountant. Maybe I can convince hubby again this year. I told him to at least give it a try and if he thinks it's to hard than back to the accountant. The thing is he can refer back to last year's paperwork as a guide if he gets stuck. The blanks filled in should be about the same, just different numbers.

LOL I don't get into sports much, but I like watching the Olympics when they have stuff like figure skating, gymnastics and skiing. I also used to watch Wide World of Sports as a kid with those same sports along with things like bobsledding or diving. I think those sports require more skill. I have been known to go to a few basketball games or hockey games in person, but don't watch on TV. It's just not the same on TV. I guess when someone comes along with free tickets to an Admirals game and it's box seats with free beer, wine and food, I'm not going to turn it down.
I've been to a couple of Super Bowl parties and most of us were more interested in the board games and dice games we were playing. No one paid much attention to the TV. The spread of food was good too.
In case anyone wants to know...the lemon raspberry cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory is really good. It's part cake and part cheesecake and so yummy. Not the cheapest place to eat a dinner at, but they always give a lot of food. I think I had about 4 servings of real mashed potatoes on my plate along with 2 chicken breasts. The chicken madiera is really good too.
I went to IL to visit my dad & while i was there decided to surprise my cousin, who i have not seen since late 2004. So my uncle tells me that my cousin now lives with his mom/my aunt just a few blocks away, but didn't have their phone number. I took a drive & showed up at their door & OMG i was shocked!
Last i seen my cousin (less than 6 yrs ago) he was about 220 pounds (stands 5'8"), stocky more so than fat, big chest & arms, just a strong active guy. My aunt pointed to a bedroom & said he was in there & just walk in, so i did. My cousin is now 490 pounds & in a wheelchair, when he's able to get out of bed, which isn't very often. My aunt says he didn't have health issues until he started gaining all the weight & that came from getting lazy & eating unhealthy.
Not to be rude, but it made me want to hurl the lunch i had just had, in fear of that being me one day... How does one change so drastically in 6 yrs?? He says he knows he did it to himself & has lost 60 pounds already. It was as sad as it was shocking to me.

It's the same with H&R, i been using it for a while & i have the option of what i want filled in for me, from previous yrs. Hopefully he gives it a chance, i was skeptical at first as well.
Saints WIN! woo hoo! Fireworks going off here.....
Good night ya'll....watching that game wore me slap out.
I'll try to fix some breakfast in the morning.

Good morning! Got snow? We have about an inch so far but the worst is on it's way tonight. Now they are saying we could have up to nine inches by Tuesday night. I might go out and shovel on and off today to try to keep the driveway and deck cleared so it won't be so much to do all at once.
