I had to laugh when I looked in the fridge this morning. The chili my husband made last night...omg, those innocent tiny acini de pepe pasta bits that seemed lost in the chili last night expanded to fill the entire container in the fridge. They soaked up all the moisture from the chili. So now I need to add more tomatoes and stuff, which means more bowls of chili to eat. Don't let those little bags of pasta fool you. I made the entire bag last night and we only used half in the chili.
Anyway it was darn good to eat for lunch at work today.
Years ago, many MANY years ago, like 30.....a friend and I took a road trip and we were eating a huge bag of popcorn (homemade) and then threw the opened bag in the backseat floor, not realizing we had dumped it all ON the floor. The next morning after the car sat outside at our destination with the back window cracked open.....in the pouring rain (duh) we had 20 times the amt. of popcorn taking over the back seat of my little car!!! That stuff gets REALLY big when wet!

That sounds like a fun experiment, but not in a car. I think sometimes food expands in my gut. Like that solid kind of bread. It fills you like a lead brick.
Oh, creepy! This creepy guy that used to stare at me in the bars years ago and make stupid comments just croaked. He was always in trouble with the law or something else. He died while in jail (for the umpteenth time). He was the kind of guy that made my skin crawl and I sure wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley...or a well lit one, for that matter. At least that creep won't ever stare at me again.
He used to make comments even to my husband about me. It was blah blah blah your wife this or that. My husband couldn't stand him either and even thought he was very weird. One night he told my husband that he'd kill a deer just to watch it bleed. *shudder*
I remember years ago he kept staring at me and my friend had enough and started yelling at him to keep his eyes looking the other direction. My friend wasn't one to often speak up like that, but I found it hilarious that she did.
That's very cool. I also call my kitchen a science lab since recipes are just a suggestion. Sometimes I like to experiment and other times I need to leave out certain ingredients I don't like and find a substitute.
Don't worry about changing the subject in the thread. It's meant to be that way. We talk about everything here.
I didn't have cake today, but I did have some chocolates at work.

His name wasn't Greg was it? lol I had a creepy guy years ago that use to give me alot of problems. Followed me everywhere. Last heard he moved up by the Madison area. Yuck.
I think most women have a 'creepy' guy story.

WOW... NOW I can see myself LOVING this one. I love chocolate and spicy! Thanks for the link. I totally agree with you on recipes.. they are just suggestions, hence the reason I usually shy myself from desserts, mostly baking as that is a science that usually needs to be precise!
Sorry to change conversations here, but can I brag a little? Am still so excited and shocked about an article on my cooking in the local Sussex Sun paper:
What a fantastic article! You can brag as much as you like!

He wasn't a stalker, thank goodness. He just bugged me at the bar. Then he wondered why I disliked him so much. Yuck. His name was Mark. I think his last name was Creep and his middle name was trouble. He always was in trouble. I knew his dad when he was alive yet. He used to help us with our investments. His own dad didn't understand why his kid was like that. Sometimes kids turn out that way even if you do a good job raising them. Maybe it was drugs. Who knows.

mmmm I love desserts that are homemade. I do experiment with them sometimes. Other times they are so good that they don't need changing. My mom always made really good desserts when I was growing up. I have a lot of her recipes and have made them for others. Turns out my favorites become everyone else's.
Now if desserts didn't make me so fat, I'd bake them more. It's just me and my husband. I might need to pass off the extra treats to my new coworkers. They aren't shy about eating whatever anyone brings in.
Not to turn this political but did anyone watch the President speak tonight? I finished American Idol, decided I wanted to watch the speech. Well the President came in and took his time walking through the crowd. He shook hands, hugged, kissed a few, I'm sitting there thinking, eck, all the germs from everyone lol. The camera seem to catch his wife several times looking mean, mad or bored, not sure but thought she seemed a bit strange. Anyways, he finally got through the crowd and then...............................I fell asleep and WOKE UP JUST AFTER IT WAS DONE.
lol
I hate when that happens!

Well.. time to hit the sack, am tired and another long day of work tomorrow, will check in from time to time. Anyone wants some of the chocolate cake for breakfast? Not too sweet so will go nice with coffee!
We paid off the van today (yay! no more payments!) and went to upgrade our cable to digital and the clerk said our cable company doesn't support or have any HD channels and probably won't til next year?? Huh?? Their website says they do.. we're going to have to double-check I guess..
I also saw that one Walmart was selling the tv we have $30 cheaper than the one we bought it at yesterday.. so I asked if they would refund the difference and they said they don't match prices between their own stores! We'd have to return their tv at our store, get a refund, then re-buy the tv.. uh-huh.. suuuure! I'm NOT reboxing that set!
I bid on a Skype phone online today.. hope to have another phone shortly.. don't really miss the ringing tho. Except for Keith, I NEVER (and I mean, NEVER) get any calls (and like it that way).. I've always been very uncomfortable on the phone. 99.9% of our calls were always for Misty.. in fact, except for 3 phone numbers, all the numbers on our phone were Misty's.

Cake sounds delicious! Since I don't do coffee, I will have a glass of milk with mine thanks.
That's strange. It says that only 10 users are on line here. Is everyone else watching the President's state of the union address or something?
I was sleeping, but i see my son recorded it on the dvr (he is here visiting this week), so i may watch it with him tomorrow, if i can manage to stay awake long enough.

Nope. I watched AI and chatted on IM with a friend from Moldova. Then I watched Psyche and I just finished watching the movie "Post Grad." I didn't even watch the recap of the President's speech on the news. I'm sure we will hear plenty about it tomorrow or I guess I should say today since it's already Thursday.

Yeah they dont comp or match their own stores, but i would do it all the time when i was a manager at wal-mart. It's dumb to not match your own stores prices, as long as they belong to the same district.
