Pretty soon someone's going to come by and kick sand in your face if you get any smaller. Good job. I need to start working on my diet a little better. I'm only disciplined part of the time. Now if they could make more interesting tasting veggies, it might work better.
I can't explain how it's working, it just is. I dont do veggies or fruit really... I just changed eating habits. Started OPC 3 and grew to like green tea.....
eat what I crave in moderation and always wait at least 5 min before I go get what I"m craving to see if the urge goes away....many times it does.
Plus I removed a lot of bad things and influences from my life and replaced them with positive things
LOL those are both starches, so would be considered carbs. So are potatoes, sweet potatoes and squash. That even limits the veggies for me more because those have more calories than the other veggies. Not that these are bad for you, just have to take that into consideration. This is according to the 3-hour diet plan by Jorge Cruise that I've been looking at for some time. I have all the notes written down.
I just need to track what I eat instead of doing it in my head which doesn't work. The other thing I need to do is measure portions. Most people eat a bigger portion than they should. Real portion sizes are tiny. A serving might only be a 1/2 cup. Try measuring that once and see how tiny that is on a plate. A serving of meat is the size of a deck of cards, also tiny.
Did you know that those wide slices of bread that Brownberry makes counts as 2 servings according to weight watchers? Most people make a sandwich with 2 slices, so they are getting 4 servings of bread at once!
I give into cravings all the time. That's why my jeans got tight. Being home more often near food over the last 6 years didn't help. Plus I'd be all stressed out with school/job hunting and I'd get bored with some dumb homework and go reach for the food. I was fidgety and I'd have to chew on something because of stress. Not that I go for eating when stressed. I'm not that way. Chewing was just a nervous habit, kind of like people who shake their leg or tap their fingers. I was just trying to release stress by chewing. I suppose if I would have chewed a lot of gum I wouldn't have ended up with tight jeans. I don't like gum much anymore. Maybe I should have kept raw carrots on hand. Those require lots of chewing.
I just ruined my diet hahaha. We just got back from Ponderosa in Hartford. I didn't even eat my meal, just the buffet. I got my meal to go. Their buffet is better and bigger than the one we had in Watertown. They have lots of choices. 3 kinds of chicken, 4 kinds of fish, couple kinds of shrimp, meatballs, meatloaf, crab legs, tacos, hamburgers, bbq pork, clam strips, beef stroganoff, and that's just the meats.
I don't think I saw a lot of veggies. I saw corn and whatever cold items were in the salad bar.
They had a yummy chocolate cake for dessert with a mousse filling. The apple pie looked good too. Didn't look store bought crappy looking. My husband said it was good.
Ponderosa??? I have not been to a Ponderosa in years. It would be fun to stop in at one sometime. We use to have one in Kenosha but it left a very long time ago.

Is the Ponderosa near West Towne Mall still there? We used to go there when ever we went to Madison. It kind of went down hill on the choices and up on the price so we quit going there. The one in the Wisconsin Dells is a bit better but still not at good as the buffet at Ho Chunk Casino.
I won't say it's the best buffet around, but for a Ponderosa it's pretty good. The one in Hartford and Beaver Dam are owned by the same person and they don't have to keep what the chain did. I think the chain all went under. These 2 are franchise. I think Beaver Dam is the other one.
The prices a little higher than what we paid in Watertown, but you do get more food and choices, so I don't mind too much. I paid 11.50 for a grilled shrimp dinner with buffet. Hubby got prime rib for $12.99.
I love Taz. Reminds me of yesterday, people on Facebook were posting a cartoon character of someone who represented them best. I couldn't think of anyone. Just thought of Taz now, but I had a picture on my computer of a Spock doll sitting on the toilet. I used that one lol. Someone left a comment about him getting the Captain's log ready hahahha.

Your link looks interesting John, will have to check it out when I get back. Running quickly through this morning since I have to get my daughter to Chinese School Class first thing and return my loaner van and pick mine up from the shop. Yesterday I swapped my van for a loaner and went over to the cell phone place and swapped my loaner phone over for my repaired cell phone. Seems like the story of my life this past year, if it can break it does.
Anyways, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Shopping sounds fun. My daughter has recently discovered the mall. 15 and never been to a mall before. OMG she was hooked the moment she walked in.
So she is all for shopping too.

You made her wait until she was 15? That must have been torture for her.
I don't get to the mall much these days, not like I used to years ago. With a big Kohl's store and the other stores being so big and even closer than a mall, I don't need to go much. I do need to make a trip to the mall this weekend since I need dress pants for work. I tried on some at Kohl's and they either didn't fit right, looked funny and fit, or they fit and looked too plain. Who designs these pants? lol.
OMG Mirror image!! That seems to be how it's been going for me as well. I really hope 2010 will be much better all the way around.
I hope so too. Can't tell yet, it's too early. Not even a month in, so we'll see. Let's see if I can make it an entire year being employed without some bozo laying me off again. Come to think of it, I haven't worked for a place more than a year since 2002. It's all been short runs for me.
I had to laugh at one of my friend's stories. He got laid off in Sept. and someone took over his job from within the company. This was a person that wasn't even experienced or trained for that kind of job. That person just got laid off this past week. Karma does work.

Is your daughter learning to speak and write Chinese or learning about the culture? I have twin 17 year old nieces who are entranced by everything Chinese and Japanese. They both have their rooms decorated with oriental stuff and they both even have a couple of swords! Kind of funny that they actually like something the same since they have totally different tastes otherwise. One is going to go to school to become a librarian and the other is going to go for auto mechanics.
I can't even imagine trying to learn Chinese or Japanese. I heard it's very hard to learn. I don't know how they can read all the characters or write them. Isn't a different character used for each word? If that's the case, than how do they type? 8,000 keys on the keyboard lol.
Is your daughter learning to speak and write Chinese or learning about the culture?
Yes, she has been going on Saturday mornings for about 5 years now to learn both the language. And yes, she is also learning about the culture. What is fun is a few times during the year they go to the teacher's home and make different types of food and once a year they put on a performance of songs etc. they learned in class and then afterwards everyone learns to make Chinese fried rice and dumplings.
She is totally fluent in Spanish as she went to a duo language School her entire elementary years. She can read, write and speak the language and learned the culture and even Spanish Dancing and her group put on several performances years ago.
She also took French for a few years and was able to go to Quebec, Canada which was a great trip for her.
And no, she did not get her love of languages from me. lol I am still struggling with English I like to say. lol
