Well it looks as if the ice storm has missed us so far. Not sure what today will bring but at least it seems to be OK out there for now. Of course I haven't stepped out yet, could be more than meets the eye from the house.
Well hope everyone has a good day today.
The ice storm has missed us so far too. It seems to be staying just south of us and some of the schools there started two hours late today. I hope it continues to miss us!

We may still get some but not until later today. I think it is just above freezing here right now but when the temps drop later we may be in trouble. Hope it just goes by and misses us all together, that would be so nice.

After dropping the kids off at their high school this morning I drove past the lake and the waves were just awesome the way they were hitting all the huge ice blocks in the water. Really wild to watch. Took some pictures but it was such a dreary day out that I'm not sure how they will be. I will check them later and post a few if they are any good.

Well my son's new college room mate from Australia finally showed up yesterday. The poor kid ended up getting bounced around on different flights for three days because the first flight got half way to the US and had to turn around due to mechanical problems! I guess he wasn't too upset because he got bumped up to first class then.
My son said "Josh" seems really nice and he's going to take him around Platteville to show him the "town" this afternoon. This is his first trip to the US and he wants to see lots of things. One of the things he mentioned was that he wanted to go to an African-American Baptist Church because he wants to experience the kind of singing they do there. I think he will be surprised to find that most of the Baptist members in this part of the state are predominantly white...not black like they show in the movies and on tv. My son also said he definitely has the Australian accent like the guy in Crocodile Dundee and it's interesting to hear him talk. They will be coming home some time early next month for a weekend so we will get to meet him then.
Same here.. very few blacks in town actually, not just in church. If it weren't for the couple that live in my complex, you can sometimes go a couple weeks before seeing a black person here in my town.
Aussies usually have agreat sense of humor.. a bit quirky by American standards but fun!

Anyone else having problems logging into their Gmail account? I can't login in IE but it seems to work in Firefox.. I would think it's a cache issue but I just finished running Window Washer so that shouldn't be the case (?)
I had a banana and a sausage with a pancake wrapped around it on a stick, with my cup of OJ. lol Don't ask, I was in a hurry.
I had a bowl of cereal and banana and an apple. I wasn't even hungry by lunch time today. Not sure why since cereal never sticks with me long. I even skipped past the donuts someone brought in. That was easy since I don't like to eat donuts very often. I did eat 3 of the chocolates from the Whitman's Sampler box someone left us. That's about all I'll be having. I'm not much into eating chocolates. Just buy me a peanut butter cup instead.
Yikes...what's going on here? This is one of many reasons I vanished for darn near a year the last time.
I must have missed all that excitement when you left. I didn't see an issue show up. You didn't wander over to the political section by accident, did you?

I've never seen Lake Michigan in winter. Never thought to go look at it. I guess I like staying where it's warm.
I think guys tend to like French women more due to the way they are portrayed in the movies...as seductive and romantic. Where as women tend to go more for the rugged kind of guy with an accent who will sweep us off our feet and carry us off into the sunset.
I guess I haven't known too many actual French women but have known a few French Canadian women who had great accents..
I once met a French Canadian woman (from New Brunswick) online and she asked if she could call me.. we ended up talking 8 hrs (all night).. if I could have married that voice back then, I would have! Alas, she didn't look like she sounded We're still friends tho

Good Morning All....well we again (thankfully) missed the ice/rain they said we would get last night. It's really mild and above freezing out but is so dark and gloomy like it could rain any time.
Went down by the lake this morning and even that wasn't very pretty with the gloominess of the day.
Well, hopefully the day will get better.

Unfortunately it didn't miss us here. It was extremely icy on the deck and driveway when I went to town this morning to do errands. I almost fell a couple of times! But by the time I got back home though, it had all melted off.

Oooh La La Dave!
One of my friend's husbands is French-Canadian. He talks more with the french accent than the Canadian though. He is a funny guy anyhow, but even funnier when he talks because we have to ask him to repeat things a lot so we can understand what he is saying. I think it's cool that their kids have dual citizenship in both Canada and the US.
With our other expenses and higher rent to save for, looks like we won't be replacing the Skype phone this check and we may just get a Straight Talk cell phone ($45 a month unlimited everything) instead..
Misty had to walk the two blocks to work today because we were on E.. she drives her clients all over the place then we get stuck for gas.. ugh! Well, she gets paid tomorrow..
Mountain Dew and rice a roni for breakfast..... bet everyone else had something better.
LOL what happened to the diet you said you were on?
I had a banana and toast with peanut butter (and a few chocolate chips melted on). Then when I got to work I had 1/4 of a Panera cinnamon crunch bagel. I've been doing good on avoiding or just tasting a sample of the treats people bring into work. The other day I only cut off one bite of a chocolate donut from the tray. People do that there. Cut a donut or bagel in half when you only want a little. By noon it all disappears anyway.
Did I tell you I found the liquor cupboard in the kitchen at work the other day? I was just going through the cupboards and there it was. That explains why everyone is so happy at work.
LOL what happened to the diet you said you were on?
Still on it...it's going great. I suspect I can go down another pant size and will be in a 10 now as these 12's keep slipping down and I look like those darn teenagers ~ well, not that bad. I dont let my pants get to my knees! LOL
Pretty soon someone's going to come by and kick sand in your face if you get any smaller. Good job. I need to start working on my diet a little better. I'm only disciplined part of the time. Now if they could make more interesting tasting veggies, it might work better.
