all these one sentance and short multi posts that are normally combined by most, no wonder there are so many milestones, its like you ladies are in a race lol

I can't answer for others but really Latina, sometimes when posting a long drawn out posts things can and do get lost in the reading.
Or, sometimes such as my last post with a question to Dave, it simply is easier to post the one sentence for him to reply to and it stands out better that way.
Sometimes one liners stand out as merely a joke to someone, such as the post I put on for Carol. And it gives a 'flow' of conversation since this is a 'chit chat' topic.
Again, I can't answer for others but I am not in a race for anything. I simply come on here to have fun and that is what I usually have.

Wasn't meant to offend you. Damn, calm down.
It's like u ignore my posts until you dont like one or take offense LOL
I respond to each post in a seperate window as well, but i dont think of stuff just to get to the next milestone or seperate one posts reply into 3 responses to beat another person at post count. NOT saying YOU are, but honestly sometimes that's obviously the case in any forums where there is a milestone thread, but again... no need to get offended, if it doesn't pertain to you, right?

OK, I most likely would be better off not responding to your post...but, sometimes I just can't help myself when I feel like someone is going way down the wrong path...

I do not ignore your posts. I answer right after you many times Latina. Get real. Actually if you want to get right down to it the only posts I try to ignore are those in the political posts and even then I chime in from time to time. .. I look at the 5 letter topic, the chit chat topic to mention two and I see me answering you all the time. Personally I could care less who left a post if it is something I want to answer, then I do.
Yes, a while back I tried to get off your 'bad side' when you took offense with something I said and backed off for a short while but really Latina that was so yesterday..like really a long time ago. It surprises me that you think I play games of ignoring you. Geez. I don't have time to do that and quite frankly like I said, I post replies to whatever, I don't pick and choose to whom I answer too. I'm here to have fun.

You left a post right after I left several one liners and mentioned how us ladies were leaving one liners as if we were in a race. I merely answered you back. I wasn't being defensive, just a bit confused as to why you would bring something like that up, especially in a chit chat forum that you, yourself started the topic. When checking on your status I notice you are almost to 5,000 posts and many are in deed one liners. So yes, I answered you back in what I thought was a timely, polite manner and just gave my view and thoughts on why many of us have one liners for answers, or comments and that I for one is not in a race, just to clarify that.

I personally enjoy the milestone topic. I get a kick out of watching the 'numbers' on this site. Not because any one member is 'racing' but merely as an incentive to add another post or two. Or it pushes me to research a few more topics because I see I have a few more posts to reach a certain number. Not a race as much as just for 'fun'.
I also like to watch the numbers because I am proud to be part of the bubbler and watching the growth of the site is awesome. That is why I posted in the MILESTONES recently the fact that we are now over 70,000 posts! Not because of any personal thrill but because I thought bringing it up would be like a great pat on every one's back that we are part of a fun bubbler family that love to chatter to each other.
Way to go bubblerlites!
Offended?? Why, should I be? Things like this does not bother me. So why am I the one answering back?? Well, I guess because this clearly shows I am not one to 'ignore' you and you posted so I simply answered. After all, isn't that what a forum is all about? Especially a 'chit chat' topic? lol It's called trying to be sociable. Sorry it seems as if you took it wrong again.

Well...good afternoon! Anyone else suffering from cabin fever? It sure was nice to get out of the house yesterday. It looks like I won't be going anywhere for awhile again due to the upcoming weather forecast.
I heard some of the nearby schools are releasing students early in anticipation of the freezing rain coming our way this afternoon. It hasn't hit our area so far but I heard it is already just one county away from us. Looks like the guys will be back early and probably won't be working tomorrow if we get more freezing rain.Hopefully the weather man is wrong and it will all miss us here.
Well Cindy with the great weather we have had this past week I certainly am not suffering from cabin fever, it's been great getting out and about. But ask again this time tomorrow... heard winter is coming back with freezing rain hitting us around 5 pm. 85 percent chance of it so doesn't look like it will miss us.

Yes, she did.. still feel bad about it but I wasn't spending as much time with him as I would have liked.. she emailed me back to say he's doing well..

As for one liner posts and short topics, why not? I mean, for me, it's all about keeping the conversation going.. half the time I don't even know what my post count is until I happen to check for some reason or someone points it out.. Milestone threads are meant to be fun IMO..
Awhile back in another forum after I passed (I think) 15,000 posts, a few of the other members suggested a race between myself and another member to see who could reach the next milestone first.. I declined, mainly because I prefer to post when I have something to say and not because I'm racking up numbers.. I'm sure most others feel the same.
Above all, we're all here to have a good time and enjoy all theBubbler has to offer.. one thing I like about the community here is that, by and large, everyone gets along and plays nice.. it's what makes theBubbler worth visiting time and time again IMO.
(BTW- the other member from the other forum? He was eventually permanently banned for sales crashing and spam )

Not to just post a one liner..but in this case you said it all so nicely that I just want to say: thanks, my thoughts exactly.

It's sad that you had to find another home. But what a selfless act to see that it was better for him even though you will miss him. Hopefully you will continue to hear from her from time to time to let you know how he is doing.

I was a little reticent as she owns other pets but I thought it was ultimately for the best.. Furby (the ferret) requires a lot of attention while he's awake but they sleep so much, I don't feel obligated to interact with him all the time.

We haven't had any bad weather here in Madison either, however most of the local & surrounding schools let the kids out early due to the freezing rain that is expected later... strange imo that they wait till last minute to cancel for snow days, yet make such bad judgement calls on a day like today, where it hasn't even rained.

I simply meant (and should have clarified) those who post and 3 minutes later (instead of edit & continue) they post a "and another thing" (same topic), then another 3-5 minutes the next post starts with "oh and i just thought i'd add this too" (same topic)... even though the edit button is there, where some have unlimited time to respond, yet post a continuance of the same post within 5 minutes over & over lol & seriously you thought of more on that same topic in a matter of minutes (seconds most likely) and made 4 posts out of one reply? haha... obviously a race when you run to the milestone thread soon & brag. I've seen this in many forums, not just this one & it's nothing more than funny to me, i guess i'm just too outspoken for most.
In your case you weren't running around posting meaningless stuff such as i mentioned above & bragging about how you have passed up this guy & good for you not giving into a race, it's so childish & seriously what's fun about posting in a forum when all you are trying to do is out do someone else... doesn't sound fun to me.
again just speaking my mind, sorry if anyone gets offended.
I'm as guilty as anyone of posting a lot of separate shorts posts, mainly because I will go thru the thread and answer as I go along and generally hate using multi-quote.. I find multi-quote confusing to use (at times) and difficult to read if you're replying to several.. for me, it's a matter of expediency.. replying as I go along is faster.
As for anyone who posts and then checks their post count, I say "so what"? It's just a number and isn't hurting me if someone passes my post count or I can't catch up to them.. as I said, it's all in good fun!
Ugh, just tried to cook dinner with the ferret loose.. virtually impossible unless/until we ferret proof the place.. Furby was in the candy dish, up on the window seat, in the pots and pans cupboard, under the bookshelf.. he's worse than 3 kids at once.. well, almost
BTW- trying a new tuna casseole recipe.. smells good!
Just catching up quickly before supper time. I got my business card designs done for that guy I was designing for. I'm sending the proofs tonight. I spend way too much time nitpicking every detail, but I can't help it. I hope he likes them. I have to say after being laid off for a year I feel rusty in a way. I'm planning on making some more practice projects just for fun in the near future. It's a lot easier to experiment when time isn't a factor. Gives you ideas to use in the future.
I'm going to exercise tonight for a while. I've decided instead of telling myself I will exercise 3 or 4 times a week, I'm going to just say I'll exercise 3 hours a week. That's four 45 min. sessions if you divide it. I think having a total time will work better than number of days, since I'm the queen of excuses. I'm still bringing the kitchen timer with me. That seems to work well breaking it down to 10 min. activities and resetting the timer for another 10 min. of something else. Did I tell you indoor exercise bores me? I want spring and my bike.
I'm going to make a snack mix tonight that has corn chips, popcorn and peanuts with a sweet glaze on it like caramel corn. The secret ingredient is taco seasoning. I'm curious as to what sweet, salty and spicy will taste like together. Anyway, it's a Karo Syrup recipe I found.

I reply as i go along & post multiple posts because I'm responding to each post separately. As you said, it's easier to read than multi quotes in one post, but thats not the same as responding in 5 posts within minutes with "oh and to continue my post of 30 seconds ago", thats what i pointed out as being funny to me & i guess i chose the wrong time to say it with the one liners today, but i had been reading back to posts i hadn't seen before while away a few months back. My thinking out loud is sometimes offensive to people, that's just the way i always been in life.
I do not care about post counts either or who passes who up, but it's obvious some do (in all forums) & as i said before, maybe I'm just too outspoken in pointing out the obvious, because i find it funny, not because it effects me.

Sounds like a strange mix, but i bet it's good. I like mixing sweet & salty, but spicy i have never tried... let us know how that turns out!
What is everyone's opinion on this one? My SIL just sent us an invite for her third marriage. Then at the bottom it says to bring a dish to pass since it will be a potluck. I find this tacky and think they should provide the food since it's a wedding, not a picnic or normal family gathering.
I mean really can't they just check with their local deli or meat market about trays or buying sliced up meat for sandwiches. There are restaurants that do the big trays of food for gatherings. If they can't afford a meal for everyone, how about something light like appetizers or snacks.
At least they didn't say bring your own beverages lol.
Speaking of weddings, does anyone remember when we went to the Sept. wedding outside? That was the one where we didn't get the invite because they were lazy or forgot, whatever. We never got a thank you for our gift either. Not even a verbal one. Even the people standing up didn't get a written thank you. They only got a verbal thank you from the groom.

That is beyond tacky! almost as tacky as my old co-worker who had a wedding of 150 guests, live dj at a nice place, spent $5000 on her wedding dress alone (not to mention all other expenses) & served manwich & chips with kool-aid to drink... talk about tacky lol
Did you know that Mexican weddings use "sponsors" (the wedding guests) to pay for each part of the wedding? sad, but true. look it up sometime & you will see what i mean. I been asked to sponsor several weddings in my time & I decline. It's not a tradition i believe in (amongst many other Mexican traditions pushed on me growing up) & I would never ask the guests to pay for my wedding, it's a greedy concept imo
You think that's tacky.. when my one younger brother got married, it was a small wedding for immediate family and friends.. well, they provided the food all right.. chips & dip for some and the real food and liquor was kept upstairs for "select" guests.. I can't complain tho as I didn't bother going.. the "bride" and I never have gotten along..

I've heard about the Mexican weddings and even attended one, but I'm not sure if they paid for theirs or what, since the bride wasn't Mexican. They just had a lot of couples standing up. That marriage lasted 3 months or not much longer. Crazy!
It's expensive enough to stand up for a wedding even without helping pay for it.
I think too many people think they need to spend a fortune on a wedding just because they need to impress everyone or want to do it because everyone else did. I say go with what you can afford instead, then add your own personal touch to it to make it memorable. Doesn't have to be overly expensive to be a nice wedding.
$5000 for a dress is just insane. Mine cost me $290 and that was a cheap one even back then. I didn't think it was too bad considering there were lots of other more expensive ones. Do you know I only tried on 3 dresses from the store and I liked 2 of them and chose from that. I'm surprised since I'm very indecisive.
