Hey all.. I had some extreme lower back pain, sweating, nausea.. thought it was a recurrence of the episode at CiCi's the other night.. went to doctor's yesterday, turned out I have a kidney infection, not to mention a case of mild bronchitis.. on antibiotics (Amoxycilin (sp?)). Anyway, have only been on a few times the last day or two.
Trying to get caught up.. be back in a bit!
I was wondering where you were Dave! I just thought you were having too much fun with that new ferret to come say "Hi" to us!
BTW...You sure seem to get sick a lot! Do you take any vitamins or anything to boost your immune system? If not then you may want to consider it. Hope you get better soon!

There's some very good vitamins on the market. I just bought some (I'll have to check on the name) but they have really made me feel better. I bought them at the visiting nurse building when we got our flu shots.

I think my husband did that years ago with an Halloween costume he left in the living room and came home late at night to see this "person" sitting in the chair. It gave him a scare.
We have had some fun with our 'guy'. lol When my son first got him we took it over to my daughter's house and hid him in the bathroom with the light off. She came home and started to go into the bathroom and had quite a start and almost didn't have to go anymore! lol It was to funny.

I always drink a cup of Airborne every day. I should probably be taking some extra iron too.
I just found out my BFF was in ICU over night after being rushed in the ambulance to the Reedsburg hospital. Turns out she was extremely anemic and she lost a lot of blood during her cycle. She ended up getting 3 pints of blood and the doctors are talking about doing a hysterectomy so she doesn't have that problem again. My husband's cousin died when she was a teenager from losing too much blood during her cycle. By the time they took her to the hospital it was too late for her. It was very sad.
I have some chronic health problems that make me susceptible to getting sick.. I'm not surprised about the kidney infection.. was supposed to have kidney surgery in the early 2000's and have never been able to.. and have always had one or two cases of bronchitis a year.. yeah, I do get sick a lot.. in fact, I'm sick more than well most of the time.
I really need to get medical insurance.. it would make a lot of difference.

See? I told you the uterus is evil.
Something like that happened to one of my old coworkers. She lost about a quarter or a third of her blood. I forgot now how much. Then she drove herself to the hospital like that. I think she said you can lose half of your blood and still live, that is, if you get transfusions.

I just looked it up and there is 10 pints of blood in your body.
Just wondering, doesn't your body replace blood? How long does it take to replace it, if it does?
Now you all are getting me interested in this and I really don't like blood much. lol

When you donate a pint, fluids are replaced in 24 hours. It takes about a month to replace red blood cells.
Yep...that's why when you donate blood you can't give again for about a month and a half. I donated blood in the past and have my one gallon pin award to prove it. I finally quit going to donate though because three fourths of the time my iron was too low and they won't take it if it's low on iron. Plus the last couple times I donated, I felt really ill and had trouble breathing for a few days afterward.

Your coworker is lucky she didn't pass out and have a car accident! My BFF said she thought she was having a heart attack since she was having trouble breathing and she kept passing out. Luckily her boyfriend was there to call for an ambulance. I'm guessing by being low on blood, it caused a lack of oxygen to her organs and brain?

I do that as well... airbourne once a day & seldom get sick anymore... though i was exposed to someone with a major flu this weekend & been feeling a chest cold tightness since then... fighting it though.

I been through this & a hysterectomy (partial at the least) is the only fix. I had my cycle for no less than 20 out of every 30 days & had blood transfusions many many times (at least 25 times) in the last 6 yrs due to this. I have the cycles regulated with daily meds now, but cant afford the time off work for surgery. I hope your friend is in a better situation than i am & is able to get the surgery. I have the worst pain for at least a week every month due to it & i wouldnt wish that on anyone. IF she isnt able, they also have a surgical fix where they burn the edges of the uterus to seal them shut, problem with that is it has to be done again every few yrs, but only takes about a week or less healing time vs' hysterectomy healing time of 8-12 weeks off work etc... Best of luck to your friend!
Hello everyone! Just taking a short break from working on tax stuff...definitely needed for purposes of retaining my sanity right now!
I totally hate this time of year when we do our taxes! I used to look forward to it when we worked for someone else because we knew we'd be getting a nice refund check in the mail. Now...I have to deal with all this darn paperwork and figuring, etc. and then we end up having to pay in even though we pay estimated tax every quarter. It never seems to be enough. How are we supposed know what the economy is going to be like in another year or how much money we will make in that time? It's not like we make the same amount every week since it depends on the type of work being done. If we pay in too much to the feds, they keep it for the next quarter...no refund for us and they sure don't pay us interest on our money they are keeping either. If we don't pay in enough then we get penalized for it! ARG!
The days of the federal tax refund check for us, in any case, are long gone! This is the time of year when I ask my husband "What are the benefits of being self employed again?"
Was back at the doctors for a followup today.. trouble is, it was as a walkin and had to wait forever.. even worse, no school today, Misty is working and I have to "babysit"..
My Skype phone is busted.. will have to wait til Misty's next check to buy another.. I dunno what happened but audio still isn't working.
Guess it was unrelated to my webcam audio as that seems to be working now.

And people wonder why I don't want to be self employed. It's the paperwork I don't want to do. Lots of other non-design things as well like marketing yourself and getting clients. I want someone else to do that part.
The Fox news station there mentioned theBubbler last February.

Too much work to build it up into "real" soil. I don't have the time. I do miss having a real garden like I did when I lived in WI. And canning in the fall.....call me crazy! LOVE a vegetable garden!
In fact.....almost time to start planting seedlings inside for planting! My laundry room turns into a greenhouse in Feb!
And this year I am going to experiment with a Kumquat tree and maybe some other citrus.....hmm. We'll see!
Crazy!

I would really like to find a copy of the Bertha Butt Boogie song some where. Anyone know where I can get one?
YouTube was a good suggestion.
iTunes always good, too.

Patti, you wouldn't be sleeping in if you weren't up half the night chatting!
I am running to town in a bit to do a few errands. I'm just waiting for the sun to come out and warm it up a bit first so I don't have to scrape the frost off my van.
My son called me last night at 11:30 from his dorm to tell me his new roommate from Australia still hasn't shown up. He asked the RA about it and he said some times foreign exchange students don't come until later. I think that's odd though since classes started today. His last roommate from Germany was there five days ahead of starting classes. I wonder if maybe he changed his mind about coming to the US. Hmm....
It looks like it's snowing out here. The sun is shinning so the frost that was on the trees is falling off and looks like snow. Sure glad it's not snow!
