I read that they are just like training a small child. They are always into things and can be quite a handful with their antics at times. lol But lots of fun.
The only thing that held me back from getting them is they have a 'smell' to them that bothers me...
lol also beware one thing I have heard is, ferrets love to steal keys.
Our cat actually loves to knock keys off onto the floor and has actually grabbed them with his mouth and walked off with them before too. I learn to put my keys away where the cat won't get them to play with. Very frustrating when you want to go somewhere and can't find the keys. lol
I'd hate to see your grocery bill if ours is as much as it is. I swear by the amount we spend we are feeding a family of four. We don't even buy that much meat and certainly not expensive cuts of meat. Last time it $80 and we barely filled the bottom of the cart.
Last time were went shopping we bought chocolate Frosted Flakes. Didn't even know they had those, but they are yummy with a banana cut up on them.
I use to spend sooooo much more when i had the kids at home, especially when they were teens. I almost always worked 2 jobs when my kids lived at home & i swear one of them was just grocery money!
Now i work one job, my bills are still the same as when the kids were home (for the most part anyway), but i'm able to work one job & survive just fine. however, I still cant seem to leave the store without spending more than i plan. Like next trip i'll be looking for those chocolate frosted flakes you just mentioned & complaining that my grocery bill is more than i'd like lol
We were low on Orange Juice, Milk and Eggs. So I made a 'quick' trip to the store. lol There is no 'quick' trip to a grocery store. I ended up spending over a hundred bucks. That's the way it is when you are buying food.
Good morning! I decided not to go with my hubby to his seminar at the Dells today. I just didn't feel like getting up at 4:30 this morning and spending the day wandering around the Kalahari!
I might work on some stuff the accountant needs in order to do our taxes. I also have a movie I rented that has to go back tomorrow so I should watch that some time today.
It sure was nice to see some of the snow melt yesterday. I hope we can expect some more melting today.

That seems to happen every time I make a quick run too.

Oh yeah..glasses too.
OMG Raccoons LOVE keys! Coons love anything shiney. Nothing is safe if you share your life with a raccoon.
Skunks will steal silky things, paper, blankets towels....and make a bed out of it.

Squirrels will take things too. We found that out not too long after moving here. I used to put those little flags out along the walk to my front door every year. Within a couple of days only the sticks from them were left. We thought it was probably some kids pulling them off thinking it was funny. The next year we cut down a big tree in the yard and discovered the missing flags. The squirrel's had been taking them for their nest!
This one has been quite the cut-up since we got him.. but they sleep approx 20 hrs a day so you only have to put up with their antics 4 hrs a day
As for the odor, it's not that bad - kinda reminds me of my grandfather and they have shampoo for ferrets as well.
Not to mention the ferret clothes Misty wants to buy!

In other news, my Skype audio doesn't seem to be working.. I can hear but not talk so gonna have to take a look at that in a bit.. having the same problem with my web cam audio so I may have to reinstall my sound card driver?
People are picking up Buddy (my bird) at 2.. Misty keeps asking me if I'm sure I want to give him away.. I really don't but I think he'll be happier with someone who can spend more time with him than I.

So true! We have to keep everything...including pens, put away or the cats will take them. They like anything they can bat around on the floor that makes noise.
My hubby used to have a pet crow and a pet ferret when he was in high school. They both would take things that were left lying around. The ferret would hide things and they would have to tear the house apart to find them. You didn't dare leave a tool on the ground if you were working on a car outside because the crow would take it and put it on the roof of the house or the shed. He loved anything shinny! He also liked following the school bus full of kids to school every day which was five miles away. He would sit on the door of the bus after the driver opened it and "talk" to the kids as they were getting off the bus. They all thought it was quite funny.

Just so you know it's not Kellogg's brand, but the Malt-o-Meal brand in the big bags. I wondered how they could use the Frosted Flakes name on their bags.
Have you noticed that the prices in restaurants have gone up a couple bucks per meal? Places that used to be cheap to eat are now starting to look like the places I used to think were more pricey. I know it's not their fault, but everyone is paying more for food. I blame it on the gas prices we had a while back when it was over $4.

Crows are real characters even in the wild. I know birds love shiny things since we had a parrot. He love to grab my jewelry or glasses if he was on my shoulder. They love to put everything in their mouth just like a 2-year old kid. He got a hold of the phone cords, plants, shoes, books, CDs, zippers on coats and even chewed a hook off our clothes rack in the bedroom. I gave him plenty of things to chew on like scraps of wood, cardboard and rubber toys, but it wasn't as much fun as our shoe laces.
I survived another week at work. I even managed to mess up my computer because I couldn't print anything from it. I blamed in the computer demons that came in last night hhaaha. They said that computer I have does that sometimes. What I wouldn't give to have the computer my coworker has. It's one of the all-in-one Macs with a huge monitor. the rest of us get small monitors and older computers. I wonder how long a person has to work there to get a good computer. Since we layout magazines I wonder why they don't use bigger monitors. I can't fit a whole magazine spread on my screen at once.
We are going to karaoke tonight with a bunch of Twitter folks. I won't be singing, but hubby will be up there all the time. I hope his little buddy doesn't show up there. There's some geeky, annoying guy that talks my husband's ear off and then my husband complains that the guy talks to him too much. I said, well talk to others, not just one person. Get to know the others. Let's see if he listens.
Thinking of eating pizza tonight since we ate up a lot of leftovers we have.

Now that you mentioned this, it reminds me I just read how to tell when you should run out and get more food..if the price at the pump starts going up, then in a few days the food prices will inch up also.
I wonder if the prices go up and down at the grocery store as fast as the pump. Probably only when there is a big jump in price and it stays there for a while.

It seems like it, but I try to cook around sales. If pork is on sale...well, everyone better like eating pork products for a while, hamburger really a good deal...lol, well there is alot you can do with hamburgers. .. I think you get the idea. lol
