No, I don't want to work for myself. Only about 25% of the designers work for themselves or so I've read. I'm not sure why so many people think designers all work for themselves. I've been asked that question a lot. I want someone else to deal with the headaches.
I wouldn't mind doing a project or two on the side, but that's about it. I prefer a regular paycheck.
Wow, I missed an afternoon on this post and I had to go back a page to play catch up!!! lol
Back to the prime rib...any left? It is great with eggs in the morning.
The Prime Rib turned out great, so how about Steak and Eggs this AM? I have some hash browns on the stove, some fresh squeezed OJ, and of course lots of hot coffee to warm ya'll up!
We have another cold morning here in Navarre. But the sunrise is spectacular once again.
Speaking of Navarre, hello Randy. Welcome to the Bubbler.
Hope everyone has a great day today!

That looks familiar. We were just in the panhandle in May. I sure had fun at Pensacola beach and those outdoor bars. I think we were at a different one every night as we made our way down the panhandle. I could go for a bushwacker right now. Those were tasty.
Are you in one of those really tall condos? I really didn't like the looks of those things. Thought there should be a height limit. I would have to have a room lower to the ground so I could still hear the sound of the waves. I miss the white sand..waaah, I need a vacation.
Ah yes, the Bushwacker! I have had a few of those in my day! On a visit to WI once, my friend and I showed a bartender in Appleton how to make them, all of a sudden everyone was drinking them, WITH the 151 on top. We slipped out quietly.......
Pensacola Beach AND Navarre Beach are located on the same stretch of Island, part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The beach road connecting the 2 is still under repair after the hurricanes. Hopefully it will re-open soon, it's a beautiful drive.
I live directly across from Navarre Beach, in Navarre, the mainland side, but my home faces the island, on the Santa Rosa Sound. From my 3rd floor porch here, if the waves are big, I can see what Randy sees......well.....I can see the waves anyway! There are very few condos on Navarre Beach, there's a limit, smaller area as well. Pensacola Beach has GROWN into quite the touristy piece of paradise! More action going on there as far as bars, restaurants, nightlife, etc. Navarre/Navarre Beach is more of a quaint little beach town.
Hurricanes! Yes, I too am an experienced Hurricane dodger. I just moved into my new house in JULY, where the old one used to be after being destroyed by Ivan in 2004. We had storm surge in my neighborhood inside my house of over 10 feet, took the 1st floor out to the studs, upstairs, lost windows/roof. And STILL we fought w/ins. co. for a year to try to get money to re-build.
I lived in a trailer for almost a year, then another hurricane came....so then I found a rental. You have to really LOVE the beauty of this area to go through all of that. But the lifestyle and view is quite spectacular.
Destin is to our East, I'm sure many of you had heard of Destin. What once was the little Fishing Village is now all glamour and glitz, ha ha ha! Sig-other and I go there when we want to go out to eat (great restaurants). You can't even see the water anymore there for the condos unfortunately.
My favorite time of year down here is the fall and the spring. Warm isn't as warm as summer, but I can still tolerate it, not nearly as humid and hot as summer, which is SAUNA weather. We are home to the Blue Angels (Pensacola nearby) so that's a nice treat, we get 2 airshows a year, plus practices.
And that would be my tourism statements for November!
Navarre Beach is probably the most affordable vacation destination in the Panhandle, if anyone is looking for a break from the snow!

Morning, all. I woke up to big fluffy snowflakes, but it's stopped already. Nothing's sticking. Yet.
Thanks for the steak 'n eggs, Toes. Take good care of my vacation home, okay? ;-)
She does have a spectacular view of the sound from her balcony. She's also been known to dispatch a cotton mouth or two in her back yard. With a machete. I never arrive announced...
*sniffing* is that steak & eggs i smell?!?! I had that for dinner a few nights ago, i love steak! You people get up so early, how am i ever gonna get here on time for breakfast?!?! lol
I think a trip to Texas Roadhouse sounds good right now. Sometimes you need a steak with white tableclothes..sometimes loud country music is the best. I'm in the mood for the music and oh..those good loaded baked potatoes and the salad with the best croutons too.
I couldn't live with that combo... i moved before cuz i had mice, there's no way i'd stay anywhere with snakes!
Snakes are ok as long as they are not big, or poisonous! Or big and poisonous! Or just poisonous. No snakes like that for me. I would never go outside.
0h wait... the very worse thing would be spiders. Please don't tell me there is a lot of nasty spiders down there too. Especially if they are poison ones.
