I wasn't going to get it and the salesman suggested that it's great in Summer, too, to cool the vehicle off.
I forgot I was going to mention the perk of starting it to cool the car/van off in the summer. I use to like that idea. I hate when you open your door and get that rush of extremely hot heat in your face from the sun beating down on your vehicle. When you start it a little early it takes all of that away. Nice.

Yeah.. gotta feeling it's gonna be a long winter for me.. going to get a flu shot tomorrow and worried about that. I had two neighbors get flu shots and they were sick afterward.
I've heard that several times in the past, people getting sick right after the shot, i know some who refuse to get it for that very reason.. Strange, My children & i have gotten that shot for many yrs & never been sick from it.

It takes up to 2 weeks after your shot before it really starts working so if you were exposed before that time you still have a good chance of getting sick with or without the shot. After that they say if you do get the flu with the shot then the illness won't be nearly as severe as without the shot.
I know as expensive as it seems to be getting I still go and plop down my 90.00 and get myself and kid's flu shots every fall.

I just thought I would mention that Walgreens advertise that they will give the flu shot for only $25.00 instead of the going rate of $30.00. I called and verified the time they were going to give shots, told them I was bringing a 13 and a 15 year old with me. Do they give shots to kids?? YES, they said.
I came in at the 2:00 time they told me to come in and they acted as if they forgot they were doing shots that day...then one said 2:15, another said 2:30 and then they told me they refuse to do kids! I explained I called blah, blah, blah, and they looked at me as if I was lying. They are not able to give kid's shots.
Well, guess the story ends with a warning for those that 'think' they will save 5.00 on a shot please verify with several people when you call if they do kids or not. Don't take the word of just one person on the phone. Like me I wasted half a day waiting for 2:00 and the gas driving to the Walgreens that was giving shots that day. When in reality all I had to do was go to our Visiting Nurse place the we always went to in the past and get them done right away. OK, it cost me 15.00 extra but it was done right.
OK, even though that all happened like 2 weeks ago that was my complaining for today. lol

Waaaah! I just got back from Walmart and no purple Christmas tree. I did see the red, blue, and black ones. Looks like purple was a hot seller.
Really?! They are sold out already....WOW...I'm sure more will come in. I'll ask my son. He's behind the scense there and checks in the vendors as things are delivered.

Today will officially begin my ranting on Winter weather in Florida. I am determined to still wear my flip flops, but the shorts and tank tops have been put away. It's a frosty 36 degrees in the morning for 3 days in a row and today it is cloudy, very windy and we are supposed to get rain, high of only 60...MAYBE. whah whah whah from the wimpy girl here!
Here I sit on my "perch" at the top of the house with my electric blanket covering me, still in denial.
I am watching white caps in the Sound, in front of the house and there is not an Egret (sp?) or Pelican in sight, they are wimps too.

You have inspired me to find purple boots....I really need some rubber boots for when I take care of "farm animals", like the horses I am caring for right now.....wearing flippy flops there doesn't cut it, maybe Zappos will have purple rubber boots?

Morning, Toes! Thanks for the suthin' breakfast. I've heard that biscuits and gravy are yummy. Those egrets and pelicans are smart...sure wish I had a place to hide until spring.
My kitchen sink is working again--yee-hah! Although the plumber got here before I was ready...answered the door in sweats that I threw on in a BIG hurry when I heard him knocking and with my hair standing on end from the towel-dry I had just given it. No glasses or contacts, though, so I couldn't really see the shock on his face when I opened the door...;-)
I'm not gonna go get one today as I'm already feeling worse than yesterday.. sore throat replaced by congestion and cough. Bah!

I always go to my doctor for our shots, my kids & i have for several yrs now & my medical insurance (thru my job) pays for it, no co-pay or anything for any of us & we are in & out within a minute, my minor son can go in anytime for it & so could my daughter when she was a minor, without me & i pop in on my ride home from work, never been through that drama you experienced at walgreens, or anywhere for a flu shot. sorry you had to endure their bs.

I once worked as a night manager at wal-mart, working every single black friday for 4 yrs! Being a 24hr supercenter & working 3rd shift i witnessed everything from set up to the lines forming & people peeking early & fights omg the fights lol i learned after the first couple yrs & managed to get outta there by 5am the following 2 yrs, normally i was there till 10am.
In my earlier yrs i did shop black friday every year, from my teens to late 20's, just not sure i wanna mess with it now... do any of you shop black friday?
If they're as good as the last ones you shared, I'd love to see 'em!
They just are some reprints of our trip to NY state couple years ago. I never liked how the original prints looked. The color was off so much. I had to run out to Walmart quick while I was getting good color off the one machine. I know how those things vary so much.

Answer to the first question: NO! I don't even like doing mine, however I like shopping for myself.
Black Friday I've never gone out with all the nuts. I stay home. I have gone to the store around supper time on that day and the stores are nearly dead by then. I hate shopping in crowded stores.
I was thinking of doing more online shopping this year. Also, a trip to the liquor store fits everyone's list in my family. No complaints with those gifts
