Oh Keith you are so lucky! I want remote start on my truck!
I remember a van we had that I was lucky enough to have a remote starter on it. I totally loved the convenience of starting the van from the house and going out with the ice all melting off the windows (I always left the defroster 'on' when I was done at night).
This morning I found a cheaper way then investing in a remote starter for this van. I just asked my 15 year old daughter if she would start the van when she brought the dog back in a few minutes before we left for school. That worked great too.

One time years back our school had to be closed (a custodian dropped something that let off fumes) just as the kids were arriving. It was one of the really frigid cold days in the winter which made it worse that we had to evacuate because we could not keep the children outside for long. They quickly called for buses to come back and pick the kids up so they had a place to keep warm while arrangements were made to bus the kids to another building. Once we made it to the other building we set up school there so they did not miss a day. A new adventure for the kids. lol I was truly amazed at how quickly the Principal/staff reacted to set everything in motion to move everyone.
could you see that now with a bunch of high schoolers? they would all be gone in their cars before the busses would arrive lol
they found this note yesterday & cancelled classes for today.

So true. I was just thinking back when something happened in our Elementary School and how impressive they were in handling the situation. But it would never work out that way with kids that are much older.
I do remember one other time when there was an actual bomb scare at our kids school and they just brought the kids outside and the police went thoroughly through the building with trained dogs and in not to much time the kids were brought back in. They didn't think it was a real scare due to evidence but had to go through the school for safety.
I was not a happy mom since they never contacted anyone at the time it was going on. But we have a 'mom' network and one of the kids called home on a phone and let her know what was going on and next thing you knew the school parking lot was full of moms.
Another time at our middle school there was a possible gang fight that was suppose to erupt at the near by high school. They just put our school on locked down. Actually lock down happens every once in awhile for one thing or another. Sad the things our children have to face now a days.

Can you believe this PK...I used to have the exact same kind of remote starter? 2 of them actually, but they were the male version. Then they grew up and went away. Dang!
My sons high school has the day off of school today, because a note was found on school property (bomb threat) yesterday. Story
Geez, back when I was in high school you just had to worry about if you were wearing the right brand of jeans. Now they have worry about bombs and shootings.

That would make a great Christmas present for my husband. Unfortunately, he goes through about 2 or 3 cars a year. Right now we currently have 4 of his vehicles on the driveway in various stages of completion. Compare that to me. I've owned the same car for the last 9 years.
I woke up this morning with swollen glands, sore throat.. as much as I love to eat and now this! Bah!
Each winter seems to affect me more.. price of getting old, I guess!
Wow, sorry to hear you are sick dave...didn't we just say that we hope you get better soon not to long ago to you? Hope this is the last time you are sick this winter.

Yeah.. gotta feeling it's gonna be a long winter for me.. going to get a flu shot tomorrow and worried about that. I had two neighbors get flu shots and they were sick afterward.

Cheaper unless you're like me and forget about the vehicle running...then you need someone to help you get gas! The remote is set for a 15 minute max running time, then shuts off. I wasn't going to get it and the salesman suggested that it's great in Summer, too, to cool the vehicle off.

Yes, thanks to all the Vets out there, and remember those who man a post away from home now - for us.

Getting old sucks! But, it beats the alternative.

Still at the office at half past eleven...and NOT posting away at theBubbler as I'd like to be. Have a good evening...
Good Morning! It's not raining here (yet). The sky is heavy with dark clouds that look like snow clouds. Fortunately it's not to cold out with temps around 45 degrees and mild feeling. But I'm sure it's going to start raining by the looks of it real soon. It's what we call a very grey day out.
