Morning Latina and everyone else. Did I hear yard sales It seems like this summer is going by quick.
Morning Ken! Yes, the summer is going by sooo fast this year. I'm thinking it feels like that because of the beautiful weather. Every day is so easy to get through, we aren't suffering with high heat wishing the heat spell would let up lol. Or as most people say, time goes by quickly when having fun and this summer has been pretty good. Or is it, times goes by faster as you are getting older.... Oh in my case then, this summer is really flying... good weather and getting older. lol
Anyways, just wondering if you ever go to Estate Sales? Love them around here. I've found some of my best finds in the past on the last afternoon at Estate Sales when everything gets marked down to get it out the door.
Have a good day.

Reading this post made me google it & wow you aren't kidding, those are some nasty nasty looking bugs!
Poor bugs, they got cheated in the looks department. I just wonder if bugs looked like cute tiny puppies what would happen. Then we would be buying pure breed beagle crickets and schnauzer grasshoppers. Oh, I could have fun with Photoshop on this one.
I guess looking at most bugs doesn't bother me, except for a few. I find some kind of interesting to look at and I enjoy the macro photography people do of such things. I've also seen Dan the Bug Man 3 times. He goes around with his glass cases of insects on display around the state. I thought so many would make cool earrings just because of the bright colors. He has a lot of butterflies and colorful beetles. The Bug Man has been at county fairs, Olbrich Gardens in Madison and I'm sure he's been at the Milwaukee Museum since they have the live butterfly area and rainforest display. People seem really fascinated by his collection.

So, I was watching the news last night, One of the vendors at the Wisconsin State Fair will be serving thick slab bacon deep fried & dipped in chocolate on a stick. They expect to sell between 3 to 5 million of these tasty treats, take that you health food fanatics.
I've actually heard of chocolate covered bacon before and candy bars with bacon bits. I'd probably try it just because I like the combination of sweet and salty.

I'm big on the sweet & salty combo as well, but that just sounds like grease covered in sugar & makes my tummy turn ick.
Dave, I heard that crickets in some Asian countries are considered good luck. I have a metal cricket sculpture in my garden, but he hasn't brought me luck yet.

I haven't used my AC since June. Just didn't need it. Looks like Saturday I might (high of 93), but then again we won't be home. I never let it run when I'm not at home. It cools down fast enough without leaving it on.

Heat & sleep don't mix well with me... I sleep with mine on! It is set to turn off at 6:30am (while i'm in the shower before work) & back on at 3:45 (30 min before i get home from work). I don't do well with heat.

That's my 1st reaction as well. I have never heard of this.....oh my!
I am not a huge bacon fan overall....and the rare times I crave a BLT I will seek and find Organic Nitrate/Nitrite-free bacon. A lot more expensive, but no poison at least. Purty darn tasty.....
So, I was thinking, using that kind of bacon, and some high-quality dark chocolate....hmm......maybe it could be interesting. Have to really get that grease off of it though.
Oh great, now I am craving a BLT! Been a year I think since I had bacon.
Speaking of Cicadas earlier.....I have NO idea what happened to the one I saw on my SCREENED IN PORCH.......1st, I hve no idea how it got in since the only entrance to the porch is from our Master BR! And I can't find it NOW.
Sig-other left yesterday, tour resumes tonight in NC. May not see him now until Thanksgiving......
I better get back to work, ya'll have a great weekend!
(oh yea......fresh blueberry pie for breakfast, what the heck......)

Got my electric bill today.. $78 !! That comes from keeping the fans and AC on 24/7! That's enough of that!
I will trade ya Dave. Mine was $211.00 for last month. We have ceiling fans and air conditioning on most of the time plus we have four dusk to dawn lights on our property and we switched our hot water heater over from gas to electric this year. On the good side, our gas bill was only $8.00 though.
Toes, at least the cicadas are harmless. Roaches on the other hand...
If the cicada is still in your porch, you better hope he doesn't start to buzz. I bet that would be loud that close up.
I don't really like eating bacon by itself, but it's wonderful on many things when it blends with the other flavors of the food.
I have to really get the grease off my bacon with paper towels.
Last night we went down to Riverfest in town here and they had a good crowd for a Thurs. I got to run into some old friends and catch up a little. Seems like Riverfest is more like a class/family/friend reunion than anything. It's much like a class reunion in the way that you see who got fatter, who looks older and who's divorced LOL. It's funny how some people never seem to age and others go downhill fast. Anyway, we will be headed back out there on Sat. night to see the band and watch the fireworks. Sunday we may head down for the car show, but not staying out that day. It's supposed to be 94 on Sun. Beer sales will be high this weekend lol.
Saturday we are also heading up to New London somewhere past Oshkosh or Appleton. I'd better get out a map. Hubby's niece and her family will be here from KC and we are all gathering at the other niece's house by New London. Will be nice because I haven't seen their house yet up there. All their little kids will be running around I'm sure. Just wish it wasn't such a long drive back and then rushing to get down to Riverfest. Or as some call it Liverfest.
Comes from a site with all peanut butter and chocolate things. I had to bookmark that site. mmmmm
Okay...all this talk about chocolate and now peanut butter, now I'm going to have to make some chocolate peanut butter bars. I have the recipe but I've never made them before so hopefully they will turn out good.
I am making these rice krispies bars for tomorrow with peanut butter, M&M's and broken pretzels mixed in. Sounds easy and the all the little kids will probably like them tomorrow. Big kids will like them, too. New recipe to try out on everyone.
WoooooWhoooo! My sister just called me and invited me to go see the Celtic Woman concert in October with her at the Crystal Grand theater in Wisconsin Dells. She already bought the tickets and is treating me so how could I turn that down!? I LOVE their music...especially the girl who plays the fiddle and dances and sings at the same time! They are awesome! I'm excited and I can't wait to go! Yippeee!!!
