Re: Wisconsin Chit-Chat & Daily Check-in...

Is it morning already? I did a dumb thing and stayed up ALL night watching movies I rented and bought! I thought I could get some sleep this morning but just as I started to doze off around 6:00, the phone rang and rang and rang again. It seems in the storm the other night, a tree fell on the power lines that go to the city well causing the pump to slow way down and people were running out of water! So my hubby had to get out there and fix that. Everything is as it should be now but only after getting about 30 or so calls this morning! ARG! Maybe I can take a nap later today after I mow the lawn? *Crossing my fingers.*

Have a great day!

So what movies kept you up? I have a terrible problem with falling asleep when watching t.v. and/or movies. It has to be a really good one to keep me from dozing. lol It's always my kids jobs to keep me awake! lol

I usually fall asleep watching tv too but I had a Pepsi in the late afternoon and caffeine doesn't agree with me. If I drink some in the morning it will keep me up half the night so it only figures that since I had it in the afternoon that I was going to be up all night! I should have known better, but every once in awhile I crave a Pepsi...I just can't help it.

Oh...the movies I watched were "Inkheart", "Confessions of a Shopaholic", and "Sex Drive". The later two were very funny! "Inkheart" was good too. I didn't start watching them until late since I had to catch "Histories Mysteries" at 10:00 first. It's one of my favorite shows.

Caffeine gives me a pick up but certainly doesn't keep me awake. I start drinking coke first thing in the morning and sip on a large one from McDonald's most of the day. Sometimes I will even drink one in the evening or right before I go to bed coke or tea with no problems. Everyone always laughs and tells me I'm a cokeaholic. lol I tell them if that is my only bad vice I guess that's not to bad. lol

Re: Wisconsin Chit-Chat & Daily Check-in...

Caffeine doesn't usually bother me either, but I only drink soda. Can't stand coffee. I don't drink it a lot, maybe one can a day, if that. On weekends it might be a bit more because we go out. Almost always have a glass of water nearby at home. Probably why I make so many trips to the bathroom. No kidney stones for me.

Uses for Coke:
clean an oil spill in the driveway
remove rust from metal
remove blood stains from clothing
Use as slug bait
Prevent asthma attack (how interesting!)
clean burnt pans
neutralize jelly fish sting
cure nausea (I knew this one, same ingredient as anti-nausea medicine)
clean car battery
put Mentos in the bottle and create a Coke fountain
get rid of hiccups
defrost windshield or remove bugs from your bumper
relieve congestion by boiling Coke and drink it hot
make your hair curly by using it as a final rinse (ick)
remove tarnish from copper
clean your engine
clean tile grout
mix with packet of italian seasoning and use on a steak
remove gum from your hair
remove marker stains from carpet
clean a toilet (I imagine it gets rid of rust stains or mineral build up)
add to rum or vodka for a drink

How strange am I, every time I was pregnant I could not go near coke, pepsi, any cola product because it would make me nausea. lol I didn't need a pregnancy test, my pop would tell me.

How funny again, many times when I first drink cola I will get the hiccups and have to stop for a few minutes to make them go away.

I feel so weird.

LOL I can't tell you if this would work for me or not since I think I would be to busy throwing it up and hiccuping from it. lol

One thing I always say, don't mess with my coke and hot coke sounds terrible!

Another thing I don't like is all the flavors they try to put in, Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke etc. The only one I like other than regular coke is Coke Zero. That is pretty good I guess.

Another thing I found to get marker stain out of fabric is hairspray. I found a marker had exploded on one of my favorite jeans one time and I sat with hairspray and a toothbrush and worked on it for awhile and it all came out. I want to say that I read about it either in the Readers Digest or the Farmers Almanac.

It also has to be room temp and flat. Same with ginger ale, works for nausea. Anything ginger will settle the stomach.

I feel so weird.

My cure for hiccups is to put water and sugar on a spoon. I do it about 4 or 5 times and it usually works. I haven't had the hiccups in so long though. I'm sure the sugar has nothing to do with it, but more to do with the act of swallowing.

I use to know someone that would only drink her pop warm and flat. She would buy 2 liters and bring them home, open them let the fizz out and then leave them sit on the counter for days while she drank it. Needless to say I always would bring my own with me when I visited her. lol

Yuck! Flat is the worst. It really seems to change the flavor of it.

I like Cherry Coke because it seems sweeter than Coke. I'm not a Coke drinker. I like Pepsi because it's sweeter. I like the lime or lemon in the diet because it doesn't taste so diet-like. I prefer the taste of regular sodas to diet, but all those extra calories I don't want. I really liked the caramel diet Pepsi that they had for a while. That was good stuff. I wanted to throw in a scoop of ice cream in to make a float, but I guess that defeats the purpose of the diet part.

Oops is good.

I use something I can't think of the name of it...comes in a little white plastic bottle with an orange/red top with plastic bristles like a round tooth brush on top. The cleaner comes out through the bristles and you can scrub while it comes out. It is really great stuff.

My son use to be in baseball and his uniform had white pants. This stuff would get the grass stains out of the knees!

Re: Wisconsin Chit-Chat & Daily Check-in...

No, the product is simply called Oops! and comes in a rectangle metal can. It used to be a white can, but now they changed it to yellow. I get mine at Ace Hardware, but I'm sure other home improvement stores have it.

My cure for hiccups is a big spoon of peanut butter.

Uses for Coke:
clean an oil spill in the driveway
remove rust from metal
remove blood stains from clothing
Use as slug bait
Prevent asthma attack (how interesting!)
clean burnt pans
neutralize jelly fish sting
cure nausea (I knew this one, same ingredient as anti-nausea medicine)
clean car battery
put Mentos in the bottle and create a Coke fountain
get rid of hiccups
defrost windshield or remove bugs from your bumper
relieve congestion by boiling Coke and drink it hot
make your hair curly by using it as a final rinse (ick)
remove tarnish from copper
clean your engine
clean tile grout
mix with packet of italian seasoning and use on a steak
remove gum from your hair
remove marker stains from carpet
clean a toilet (I imagine it gets rid of rust stains or mineral build up)
add to rum or vodka for a drink
I don't like coke, however i have seen this list & others before.
I use coke only when i need to remove acid from a car battery or kill mice, works great for both!

I drink pepsi like it's going out of style... I'm a pepsiaholic!

My son use to be in baseball and his uniform had white pants. This stuff would get the grass stains out of the knees!
Sounds like Shout gel... It's what i use on clothing stains. Love that stuff, been using it for years.
