Oh, and just to add a bit of info, bats really don't have a high rate of rabies, actually it's really very low. Just a bad myth that people use to think years ago is what started that.
I think people had lots of myths years ago about just about anything. Like the old wives tales that you hear and then laugh about how silly they are.
You named one of the biggest myths of all and that's the bats getting stuck in hair. You can blame that on movies. If you think about it logically, why would the bats fly in your hair and put themselves in danger? Did you notice that they are able to fly right out of hair in movies? I think if that were reality they'd have a hard time getting untangled.
I just wonder if all this would have started if bats came out in the day time. Seems a lot less scary since the mind plays tricks at night. If they came out in the day, they would just look like furry birds.
Those bats look like they are huge for being babies! They are kind of cute but I don't think I would want one in my house thank you very much!
Flying Fox bats have about a 3 foot wing span when flying. So that would be why the babies are so big. They are also called fruit bats.
I have some pictures of the bats from somewhere. I think it was at Disney's Animal Kingdom we saw those. It was day time and they were sleeping so not quite as impressive in size when curled up.
Look at this funny bat. This must be the rare brown wiener bat named Oscar.
Well....I'm still at home. I got all ready to leave and got into my van and pulled out of the driveway when I heard "thump, thump". Yep...I had a dang flat tire! Evidently the roofers didn't get all the nails when they cleaned up the yard because one of them was sticking in my tire. Grrrr! Now I have to wait for my husband to get back from his trip to Madison today so he can pump the tire up enough for me to get to town to have a new tire put on. Oh well...at least it happened now instead of when I'm on my trip to the Dells.

Wow! I can't believe how much the one on the right looks like a wiener dog with wings. Weird but cute.
I had to laugh when going through some online want ads before. Someone put an ad up saying, "Why is ABC company [not the real name of course] always hiring new graphic artists twice a month?" Then it said for pay, "Minimum wage at least, hopefully."
One of my old classmates used to work for the same company and she told me a lot about it. That's why I find it funny. Oh well, not even in driving distance of my house, so I don't have to worry.

That's a real ad??
I'm sure if it is they were making a joke of it, but like you said their employees probably realize it's not far fetched lol
Morning all. Looks like rain for the next 7 days here. Have a great day everyone.
Good morning! The forecast is the same for here too...rain for the next week. Bummer!
We had quite a storm last night! It rained so hard that it knocked the petals off most of my flowers and we had lightning hit somewhere so close, not only once but twice, in less than a minute that it made the tv snap and pop in the bedroom! We got up and checked everything but nothing seemed to be damaged as far as we could tell. I was mostly worried about my computer since I use it for our business every day and would be lost without it! I'm sure glad we got the new roof on when we did or we probably would have lost half the shingles in that downpour last night. I don't think I've ever seen it rain that hard before!
Just looked at the weather and they call for 50 percent chance of showers this afternoon. So that means 50 percent chance it won't rain, right? lol
I see we are in for some thunderstorms Friday and some this weekend. We have friends coming from out of town on Friday and 2 picnics to go to this weekend. Hope the rain holds off and only hits us in the night.

Morning all.. I must have been exhausted as I slept til 10:30 this morning! Getting a late start.. still haven't had breakfast. Will be checking here off and on today but plan to spend most of my time online working on a project for Keith.
PK, did you see me wave at you today? I was in your neighborhood. We at lunch at Frank's and then took a tour of Jelly Belly. Bought a little candy, but not that much as I don't eat jelly beans much. I do like the chocolate pudding ones and the ice cream flavors weren't too bad. Also got some blackberry ones.
I had to get a picture of this truck stop sign out there by Iron Skillet. It said, "Your wife wants to go tinkle here."
So what did you think of Franks? Crazy but a fun place. lol
If you ever go to the jelly belly place when they are having their warehouse sale or their over stock sale you can get full boxes for just a few bucks. Of course you will have candy forever. lol
Hope you enjoyed my section of Wisconsin.
