Before it's time?? I am 36 and i swear i'd be totally gray if not for hair dye lol seriously. Yet i know people older than me with no gray sux to be me lol
Have a safe trip Dave.
Same here with the grays. I don't have a ton of gray, but I've had it since I was 28 starting towards the back side. I had a dream one night that I found gray hair and the next morning I looked at that same spot for the heck of it and sure enough there was gray there. Maybe my subconscious picked it up and it entered my dream.
I've highlighted my hair for years to blend in the gray, but lately been getting sick of the highlights. A few months ago my beautician dyed it all back to my brown. At first was hard to get used to the brown again, but then I ended up liking it better. Now I went back to the blond highlights. I think I might go back to the brown next time.
My main complaint with the brown is that I can never seem to match the color and it ends up looking reddish. I don't want the red. Even the beautician got a reddish color to it.
I have more gray in my hair than my mom and she is 20 years older than me. That's not fair!

I've highlighted my hair for years to blend in the gray, but lately been getting sick of the highlights and always having to touch up roots of hair that grows way too fast. I don't like the dark roots with the blondies. A few months ago my beauticians dyed it all back to my brown and then lightly added some highlights. At first was hard to get used to the brown again, but then I ended up liking it better. Now I went back to the blond highlights with the grays coming in, but still blending in. I think I might go back to the brown next time.

I tend to go back & forth between lighter to darker brown each time i dye. Funny you should mention the red because just 2 weeks ago i decided to try & dye my hair red again. The last time i dyed it red it took all of 2 weeks for the red to turn dark brown, which was ok. At least it didn't go orange or purple lol It's been 2 wks & still red, we'll see how long this lasts.
I'm off to Michael's to buy some outdoor paint for some projects I'll be working on for outside. I always want to buy all kinds of art or craft supplies when I go there, but good thing I have good self control.
Then I'm going to the store to buy some goodies for my peanut butter and chocolate cake I'm making for my birthday. I need someone to bake for me. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?
Next I'm stopping at the tech school to pick up the fall schedule and see what web classes I need to sign up for. I can't afford it really, but I need to learn it.
By that time I'll be home and head out to eat with hubby. Might be going to the Mineshaft or maybe somewhere else. I'll see what hubby has in mind.
This is only day one of birthday celebrating. I will be making this a 3 to 4 day event.

My natural color tends to be more ash brown than red brown and red doesn't look the best with my skin color.
Sounds like fun.. Any plans for your birthday? being on the 4th of July at least there is always something going on for that day
No Olive Garden for your dinner huh? Is it a Mexican restaurant in the Dells? I've yet to find a good one there.
Nope, not in the Dells. We went to a place in Richland Center. If we went to the Dells, we would've ended up at Ho Chunk instead. LOL
Now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen much for Mexican restaurants in the Dells. I think there is a place next to that Timberland Mini Golf park but we've never eaten there. My husband said he saw that they opened a new Italian restaurant down town by the bowling alley and he also heard it's an all you can eat buffet style place. I wish they would get new attractions too. After going there every year for 30 years, there isn't much left that we haven't already done.

I LOVE going to Michael's. They have the neatest craft things there!

I will probably end up making my own birthday cake too...if I want it to be edible anyhow.

Happy Birthday to you and I hope you have a great time celebrating for the next 3 to 4 days!
Made it to work today, not sure i'll make it all day, but i'm here to try, still sick. Due to the Holiday this is our Friday & tomorrow is our paid day off, i just have to try & get through this day without making anyone else sick.
Good morning all!!
Sorry to hear you were sick Latina, but glad that you are feeling better now.

Yeah the Dells isn't as exciting when you live this close & have seen it all time & time again.
They have a Pedros, but that's not authentic, it's not even tex mex, i'd put it up there with taco bell, but not fast food. They have one on the corner of... hmmm cant think of the name of the roads now wow! It's across from that Mary's Diner (think it's changed names now) as you go toward Lake Delton wal-mart... It's run by Mexicans, It's a dirty place & the food just doesn't taste good at all. Unless it's changed, that was last year that we tried it & ick... I bet a good authentic Mexican restaurant would do well there!

We haven't made any definite plans for the 4th yet. We are debating whether to go to Madison, the Dells or somewhere else. My sister wants to take us out to lunch for my birthday in Mt. Horeb but we were just at her house last weekend for our family reunion so I would like to go do something else.
If we go to Madison, we would probably go to Olive Garden for lunch and then go see "Public Enemies" at the theater. If we go to the Dells we will probably go eat at either Ho Chunk or the new Italian place and then go to the movie. Last year on the 4th we went to Marquette Iowa to the gambling boat and I won $1,300 so that was a really nice birthday present. But my son will be with us this time and since he's not of age we won't be going there.
So Latina....when is your birthday? And how are you celebrating it?

Those gambling boats sound like fun! A co-worker won 2 tickets to go to one in Iowa a couple wks ago & couldn't go, so his wife & daughter went, they lost all their money, so he wasn't regretting not going lol
Mine is the 11th & i havent celebrated a birthday since.... i dunno when... i was a teen i spose... except last yr my sister had a cookout for the 4th of july & had a birthday cake for me, i suppose that counts as a celebration, tho it was a 4th of July cook-out on the 4th... Just another day on the calendar pretty much.
I wasn't feeling well this evening so have been kind of scarce..
We're going to try and go up to Kansas City on the 4th now, instead of the 5th and come back the 5th. Misty's parents are having a big to-do and we've been invited.
Are there any good restaurants in the Dells? I don't think I've found one yet, well, except for Green Mill and that's a chain restaurant.
I don't think I'd know the difference between authentic or Tex Mex or whatever even if it hit me on the head. Like many Americans I just lump it all together to make things easier and because I don't know the difference. Looked it up one day and what I found was that Mexico was divided by 6 different regions where the dishes differ depending on spices and other ingredients used. Oh boy, more confusion. I wonder if other ethnic foods are as divided. Hmm, Chinese has different regions where the food varies. Yet still I lump it all together haha. This is getting as confusing at deciding which songs belong to what music type with 200 categories. There again, I'm lumping all kinds of music under rock instead of what type of rock to make it easier. Boy, we sure like categorizing our lives. Does anyone think I'm tired and overthinking this?
Didn't get my cake made today, that's for Friday..which is really if Friday now at 1 a.m. Didn't think we'd have room for cake after supper. We ended up at Mineshaft and got the huge platter of nachos and that did us in. Took most of the dinners home. Was there any lemonade in my mix drink? I don't think so, mostly alcohol. Was good though. Hubby bought me a CD I wanted and some earrings from Silver Eagle in Oconomowoc. I love the stuff there. I have so many earrings from there. Now I need more ears. No, I'm not still buzzed from my drink LOL, I'm just tired and rambling. Nite all and good morning for you early risers at 6 a.m.
Morning Ken I see you certainly an early bird today. I was awake earlier just not 'up' yet. lol Guess it felt to good to just lay there and listen to the birds outside my window. Anyways...have to find my OJ and get ready to drive my daughter to work soon.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th weekend.

About 2 years ago in the fall we spent a weekend at the dells and wondered the same thing. We went in to one restaurant for lunch, sat down and checked out the menu and got up and left after realizing it was a veggie place only. No hamburgers. lol I remember we went down the road a bit and came across a place that was pretty good for hamburgers. Since it was day time there wasn't alot of people in there so it was nice.
Later for dinner we went to one place and again, we didn't care for the place and drove around some more and came across a place with the name 'Phil' in it. Can't quite remember the name except that and it was on the order of a Texas Roadhouse maybe? Anyways, we got a decent steak out of there and I would totally go back there next time we are up at the Dells.

Good morning everyone! It sure looks like a lovely day although it didn't start out that way. When I took the garbage to the curb this morning, there was a rock in our driveway so I kicked it. Well it ended up going onto the edge of my next door neighbors yard and he came out and yelled at me! He caught me at a bad moment and I said the first thing that popped into my head which was what he could do with that rock. Then he said "You are messing with the wrong person" and I just laughed at him and walked away. We used to get along with this guy up until last year when he decided to put a fence right on the lot line between our yards and we went around about that. He finally put it back six inches onto his side after I told him he wouldn't be coming on our side to fix it when it starts falling apart. The fence already looks like crap because he used the cheapest lumber plus he left the support beams sticking up several feet above the rest of the fence for no reason that I can see. I think he's losing it from having had too many diabetic episodes!
Fortunately, we have really good neighbors across the street. One called me last night and said she is making all the food for us the day of my yard sale so I don't have to worry about cooking that day. Plus she is making an apple pie for dessert. When ever I bake anything I always take some over to them too. They are such nice neighbors.
Only neighbor we have problems with is the guy behind us and it's his dog that's the issue. They let him pee all over our spruce and junipers. They tie up the dog to their bug infested tree which is rope's length from our junipers. We have enough problems with keeping those from getting brown in them without dog pee. Why do they need to put the stupid dog by our stuff? No brains over there. How would they like it if I started peeing on their bushes. Maybe I should do that at night lol. Anyway, it's not helping matters since we are trying out all different fertilizers to save the junipers. We even put those scented tags on the trees that supposedly keeps dogs away. I don't think I should shell out more money to buy dog repellent or put up a fence (like chicken wire for the neighbor's viewing pleasure lol). I don't have the money for a fence and don't care for one. I prefer friendly fences made of plants. They can tie their dog up somewhere else. The dog needs a good swift kick in the butt and so does the owner.
My husband doesn't help either. He said he would go over there and talk to the guy about it and then he never does. He always complaining about having to trim out the brown spots on the junipers.

Don't you just hate that!? My husband is the same way. He doesn't want to get involved but will complain about something over and over instead. Why is it that men will sit back and let us women handle things like that? I'm beginning to wonder if it's so we will look like the bad person and not them.

Confronting your neighbor is likely to make things worse...I'd not say anything more...and hope for the best...if you lose the spruce and junipers, chalk it up as not worth an escalation, which may turn violent.
OH, the dog is NOT responsible...the owner of the dog is...GOOD LUCK in a tough situation.

What??? I can't afford to replace landscaping and we've spent years getting stuff to grow this big. I disagree with that. Why should I keep replacing expensive trees and bushes so their dog can keep peeing on them? It most certainly is a problem that needs to be addressed. There's been a few times when their dog wondered over here and pooped in the yard. I don't have a dog and shouldn't have to worry about stepping in dog crap or cleaning it up.
I once had a neighbor in that very same house (he moved) that decided to spray weed killer on a windy day and we lost 3 bushes. Am I supposed not say anything then?
It's not like we are friendly with this neighbor, in fact I don't even know what the people look like because all the trees block the view. I don't even know their names. No relationships will suffer when one hasn't been made.
Not sure what violence would occur since they aren't violent people. They are just a young couple with a child.
