I was thinking it was a tower but I think we can get this done.
If you look at the first picture, there's a screw on the front top right (yellow in pic), is there one on the front top left too? If so take a look at them. It looks like if you take those two screws out the whole front top (outlined in red in pic) (dvd drive attached ) should lift up from the rear so you can access the hard drive below. Just disconnect the connectors on the rear of the dvd drive first. There should also be a few screws holding the rear of the dvd cage down.
I've included a pic. I outlined the section in red that will lift up from the rear and come out. The yellow is the screws.
I say 20 minutes tops and you'll have the new drive in. Your right, it's hidden way down there.
Thanks, Ken.. I'll take a look at it again this coming weekend. Have to get back in the "mood" to mess with it..
My old Compaq Presario was easy to swap things in and out.. not this one.
It actually is a "mini" tower, but it's only about the size of a VCR in height and width.. it's an Everex Explora RS2800.. I bounced the RAM up to 2GB and added a AGP 128mb graphics card to it because the 256mb and onboard graphics it came with were woefully inadequate.
Next one, I'm going to build from scratch.

Ken, do you know anything my computer problem with the USB? It keeps showing that I have something plugged into the USB port and nothing is there. I can click on it to stop and it will be right back there when I start the computer again.

Hi Blue. I'll help you tomorrow ok, need to get some sleep. If you can can you take a screen shot of the USB icon you have and post it here.
If you need something to take screen shots and you have Firefox try this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1146
It can capture your task bar too but you may need to crop the rest of the page out, not sure, haven't had to take a screen shot like that before but either way it's easy to do.
It's really a beautiful morning out today. The sun is totally shining bright out but still has a nice coolness to the air. Heard it is suppose to get kinda warm out though later today. Guess I'll enjoy the morning crispness for now.

By the way...I looked up 'tripe'. All I can say is, it doesn't sound very appetizing. lol
What is Tripe?
In it's simplest form tripe is the stomach (or stomachs) of a domesticated animal. Usually the first 3 stomachs of a cow are used and sometimes a pig or sheep stomach is used. The first of the cows stomach is the "blanket" tripe, the second and most preferred is the "honeycomb" tripe and third usable stomach is the "bible" or "book" tripe. The last stomach of a cow is rarely used because of its glandular texture.
It also went on about the Menudo Soup of which I guess tripe is in:
Usage in Mexican Cuisine
Tripe is used in Mexico for many idshes but the most popular one is Menudo which is a soup made with hominy and honeycomb tripe.

honeycomb is the only tripe i'd eat, if not made correctly it can be pretty bad, it's a mexican traditional food.

It's just the little icon in the system tray, the same thing you see when you put in a flash drive and have to click on it to remove the flash. The two things I keep seeing that are showing they have to be removed (but nothing plugged into the USB port in front at the moment) are HP Photosmart D7200 and the other says something about a mass storage device (also another HP Photosmart thing).
Hello guys. It has been awhile since I have posted. I read almost daily but been trying to heal up from my two surgeries I have had. I am only about 50% healed from my shoulder surgery right now. Still have a ways to go. Three weeks after that I had a surgical procedure done on my lower back that didn't work, instead caused more pain. I will NEVER go through that again, extremely painful. Just got word today from my second MRI that my right shoulder is extremely bad and unless they go in and operate in the next few weeks, they may not be able to fix it at all and I will suffer in extreme pain the rest of my life. This is not news that I wanted to hear. I am torn on what to do. I just don't know.
I was thinking about bringing my rescue post back up for a bit. Just wanted to update it, but think maybe I will just post a quick note here. The case is still pending, but new evidence that I cannot talk about will benefit me greatly. It will still take a long time to get any sort of compensation unfortunately. Until then, rescues keep coming in. Many LARGE fish coming in. Ones that need plenty of room, and plenty of special foods. Expensive to house and feed. The rescue (which is Non-Profit by the way) is in desperate need of donations, either monetary or supplies like foods, large tanks and such. All donations are tax deductable. No amount is too small. I have to feed many different kinds of fruits, veggies, shrimp, fish as in smelt, whiting, etc. The big fish are very hard to place right away and these are the most time consuming and money consuming. So please, if anyone knows anyone that would like to contribute a few dollars or send maybe gift cards please visit my site Finned Friends Aquatic Rescue & Angelfish Breeding. The newest fish are not up there yet as my site is under maintenance by the lady who did it for me changing some things. If anyone would like to see pictures of my new arrivals, let me know and I will post them on my Rescue post here at the Bubbler.
I will in the next few weeks going to start and writing and calling the companies who supported my Auction last year to see if they will like to help with my second annual auction for later this year. If you know anyone who would to contribute to that also, let me know. In case some of you may not know, I am only ONE of THREE Aquatic Rescues in the whole US.
Patti asked me to post also the progress being made regarding my whole furnace mess. As I said before, the case is almost in the hands now of the DA. The investigator was awaiting on some info to return from the State Crime Lab. That just came back and he has to now find time to finish his report. Til then, my Public Service bills are still out of hand, but......good news is we were able to pay a contractor $1500 to come in and hopefully help fix the problems to get these bills back to normal. He just finished his work Monday. So in the next month or two we will see if this has made any difference. Say a prayer.
OK, I am done being long winded. Again, there are donation tabs on the website for those who would like to donate to help keep these big fish fed and housed.
Have a good day everyone.
Kelly

Good to hear from you Kelly!!
Sooo sorry to hear of the medical hardship you have encountered
I hope things get better & less painful for you. Only you know whether or not you can handle that right arm surgery, i hope it works out for the best, with whatever you decide.
I don't know about the legal cases you speak of, but i hope that also works out for the best & in your favor!!

Great to hear from you Kelly and I hope you get your pain issues worked out. You sure need some better luck in your life. Thanks for taking such good care of our little fish friends. Wish I knew of someone that was into fish that would like buying some. If I hear anything I'll let you know.
