May we forget partisanship (sp?) and go back to being Americans with varying philosophies. Please. We all want the same thing...a strong, vibrant US where the issues are debated with an eye to a solution, rather than scoring (snarky) points.
Ha! No, guess you really couldn't lock mama out of the frig!
My 92 year old father-in-law lives with us...it's been an adventure. The highlight was the night my husband and I were wakened from a sound sleep by a voice coming from downstairs, yelling "HELLO! IS ANYBODY HOME?" It was an officer of the law...FIL had decided to take a little walk at 1 am and had (of course) fallen in the middle of the road a few doors down. He had left the front door open and the officer made the leap that he had probably come from our house. Emergency vehicles really light up a neighborhood, ya know!
LOL, sorry! Just having a little fun. We used to do that prank phone call as kids, among other ones. It must suck to replace all that food. It's gotten so expensive at the gro store. You can go without even buying much meat and it's still expensive.
At first glance you can't tell anythingis wrong with McDonalds (as you are sitting at the light) but the big crane is a dead give away. Then as you get closer you see McD is all fenced in and the front window boarded up.
Ponderosa is stripped clean of it's name on the building and the sign is gone.
All the windows on the north side are boarded up to. That's the side where the drive through is.
The windows at Pondo are all boarded up and it took me a month to notice. I'm not very observant, am I?
Well, I'm on my daughter's computer right now. Mine decided to stop working this morning. A good friend of mine that works on computers is taking a look at it. Hopefully it won't cost to much to put life back into it. He said it shouldn't, guess it looks as if it is a part that goes out easily.
Just thought I would mention it if you don't see me as often for the next few days.
Wow, just a thought...what am I to do in the middle of the night when I get up to walk through to the bathroom and usually stop at the computer??? Well, guess I'll watch more t.v.

My dad has alzheimer's & i can relate to them taking off without notice, got that call several times lol Thank god your ful wasn't hurt!
My mom had a heart attack this morning at 11:30am i got a call at work that she was taken by ambulance from my house. At the hospital they found that her kidneys were failing I just got home from the hospital been there since noon & she may be there for at least a few days.

lol i remember that one! also the one calling to ask if they lived in a white house & if they said yes insist on speaking to Ronald or Nancy! lol
I wish i was as easily amused now as i was back then!
Ahh ~~ I came from Walmart down 26 towards McD's...so I didn't even see the drive thru side.
Are they going to rebuild?
I would imagine. I know something was said about Pick N Save moving to the old Kohls location and a train station would go where the grocery store is now.

wow, that's hard when it's your family. Are your parents older? Mine are not that old yet, in their early 60's but my in-laws are in their 80's.
I hope things turn out well for you and your family..
My mom suffered for years from bleeding ulcers.
One nite she had an attack and started bleeding out. Sent her to the hospital where the hospital said she was having a heart attack and gave her a blood thinner, Heperin. Wrong thing to do when someone is bleeding already.
She lapsed into a coma and they suggested surgery to stop the bleeding but they had no blood to match her blood type on hand so they used non-crossmatched blood and gave her a 15% chance of surviving the surgery.
She did survive the surgery but had a fever of 105-107 for over 8 hours before her fever broke. At that point, the doctors said they could keep her "alive", but she was essentially brain dead. I had to sign to take her off her ventilator and she passed away 20 minutes later.
I'm not saying this to worry you.. just to make sure you stay vigilant and always seek a second opinion.
Again, best wishes...

WoW that brought tears to my eyes, not for us but for you and your family. To be the one to make the decision & sign. May i ask how long ago that was?
This is my moms 3rd heart attack in 3 years & we brought her from Texas because we didn't like the medical attn she was getting there. She seen Docs in Duluth MN then Superior & now on her second opinion in Madison, seeing heart & several other specialist. I'm confident we have good diagnosis here, but always seeking more opinions on everything, can never be too careful for mom.
Thanks for sharing your story, i watched my sons dads family go through something similar while his dad was on life support. They decided to hold off another day so his brother could fly in from Idaho at 9am.
My son & i left the hospital at 1:30am because we had been there all day, We planned to return after a few hrs rest, but at 4am my sons dads heart gave up & he passed away. My son was almost 13 at that time & went into a deep depression, it was a hard battle, but we fought hard & still do at times. now at 17 he could pass for his father, looks exactly like him from head to toe. he has pics & drawings of his dad around his room & everyone asks if they are drawings of himself.
